Late 80s early 90s anybody will tell you Flair was propping up WCW and got people like Sting over to make the whole fed into a force. WCW were still giving away tickets while Hogan was there, something they never did during Flair-Sting. Hogan took loads of money and didn't get anybody over. WCW'S profit turnaround had less to do with Hogan and more to do with Bischoff's more efficient management anyway, and later the nWo angle as a whole.

There champions aren't really shit. it's the people they put them up against. HHH can wrestle, khali can't, he can barely walk, that was a terrible match. Jeff had a WWE Title match on RAW vs Taker in 2003. After Taker beat Hogan, b4 The Rock had his last reign. It was a Ladder Match, one where Jeff at one pt had his fingers on the title, but that's as close as he got. I do agree tho that Jeff Hardy should have a reign like CM Punk's, meaning a longer one, if he ever gets it. Jeff has the goods to have a believable year-long reign, if he's pushed correctly.
