@Archedgar I dunno, I wish they had continued exploring the Zero/Wily thing. I think that, above all, Zero was designed to be superior to X at his primary function. If Wily saw that Zero had gone against his designated purpose, not because he was defective but because he developed a friendship with his rival, he would be proud. World domination could suck it, Wily won anyway: he created the first Maverick. The first robot to truly make his own choices, completely at odds with his programming.

I don't know where it would have gone if it wasn't cancelled, but you can see in this video that X gave Sigma those scars on his eyes. In the scene you're referring to, Zero gave Sigma those same scars.

Not that it matters, really. It makes sense for them to be working together, since Zero was a Maverick at the time, and Sigma helped "fix" him. He's the reason Zero joined the Hunters.

use Wikipedia it will tell you the whole story, i finally looked it up and in the later x games like x5 and x6 there are some continuity issues but it talks about those too, the real good story line really stops at x6 after that i heard its no good (hope this helps) and yes Zero was made by wily, it even shows some of it in megaman 8 he talks about a robot being even stronger than Bass (his first kinda version of zero)

He got beaten in a fight by Sigma (good) and in the fighting he transferred the Virus to Sigma. The Virus chose Sigma because he won the fight and therefore he is currently the stronger one. Zero without the virus was able to function like any other reploid. Zero was assigned as X's partner as an irregular hunter.

Because Sigma has the virus he is now the villain.

I would also like to comment that I think that this is far superior to not only the cutscenes from MMX4, but also to the American Megaman cartoon which came out back in the mid 90s. The episode that guest stared X, Vile, and Spark Mandrill sucked. Not only did the story make no sense, but X's depiction in the episode was 100% flawed. But this short movie does the Megaman franchise a whole lot more justice. And well, I'm actually impressed that Capcom made an effort to pull this off.
