Pluto is the 9th planet and Sedna is the fucking 10th - I don't give a shit if its still official or not, it WAS when it was first discovered!!!!!!
(sorry, just sick of the arguments with my mates saying "yes they WERE both planets, BUT NOW..." - bollocks to all that...good to see I'm not alone!!!!)
@addylewis I see what you mean, when the vilkains decided on Pluto's case they were considering Iris (Greek Goddess of strife and discort) a minor planet, it was then they thought that Iris is bigger than Pluto so they changed their mind about the definition of a planet and that of Pluto as well, now recent data shows that Iris is infact smaller than Pluto, so what is left is shame on those villains that they changed their mind regarding Pluto our beloved 9 Planet.
@KurdstanPlanetarium Iris is an Asteroid, Eris is the Dwarf planet. Also while it is not as large as the first thought, it is still larger than Pluto.Sedna is 3/4 the size of Pluto by the way. They are all very interesting, but they aren't planets. Big deal Ceres was thought to be a planet for fifty years before it got downgraded. Palas, Vesta and Juno were also downgraded. Things like this happen when we lean more.
@KurdstanPlanetarium technically, Sedna is smaller than Eris and a number of other Kuiper Belt Objects. Its orbit is also highly eccentric with a period of just about 12,000 years. It is not "the 10th planet". The orbit is highly irregular. Classified as a dwarf planet, it is also something else. Some suggest it is an inner Oort Cloud Object, displaced by some large object within the Oort cloud, which justifies the inclination normalcy with the eccentricity irregularity.
@GriffithAMPS well Oort clouds as is shown here in 1:17 is located rougly 50000 AU from the Sun, and Sedna's Aphelions (its furthest point from the Sun), is 975 AU, based on that its highly likely that it maybe an Oort cloud objects, what liles in Oort cloud are mostly comet types objects, when kicked out by passing stars they run downwards towards our region in space as a new comets...Sedna however is more TNO type like an asteroid.
@BlackSunSerenade indeed, as its aphelion is 975 AU, and it orbital revolution takes about 12,000 years...Sedna so far is the furthest object in the Solar System..
@KurdstanPlanetarium U know, Sedna is very far when it is in its closest position in our solar system to earth :D and we spoted it because of it ;) And it is only our solar system.... there is bilions of stars in our galaxy, and Hubble space telescope showed, that there is thousands of galaxies in black dot of the sky.... We are so primitive compared to space....
yes Sedna's orbit is further than any comets we know now, its the furthest object in the solar System for the time being.. it takes 11000 years to revolve around the sun, sometimes comes nearer and other times further out...
(by the way this the second version i upload as i needed to add a new image which shows Sedna in relationsship to the solar sytem)
Quaoar is another trans Neptunaina objects of whcich 500 so far have been discovered and is estimated to be around 100 000 objects...just like another asteroid belt beyond Neptune orbit, but this is called the third zone
Sedna need 11.400 years for encircling the Sun, wow 11 earth millennium for "single year" in Sedna.... ~_~

@declaration963 yes thats quite right...the last time Sedna visited Earth, it was the Ice Age with Mamoth roaming the ice plains

Pluto is not a planet but an observation post. Now quarantined by some strange beings amassing in the Kuipers Belt

It's orbit is so huge. There must be long periods of time that the sun just looks like a bright star on there...
