Me, my bother and my mum had fallen in love with Avatar. How ideal; a series for 12 AND 44 year olds. Haha!

After watching the last episode I hoped that maybe they would be another series but it appears not. That doesn't rule out a spin off series but most of the time they disappoint me.

If the original creators are the head of it, I think it'll be good. Spin off series CAN be good (think of Angel spawning from Buffy, or Torchwood from Doctor Who), but my biggest question is: what is the story even going to be about? Guess we'll see. I think they could just keep going with it, or heck, make an alternate ending and go from there!

i think avatar is pretty cool but the fact that its wanna-be anime just ruined it for me. srsly it dosnt take anime to make something cool but apparently they thought that and had to make it an "anime". Wenever i ask my friend what animes they like they say AVATAR! and im always like WTF AVATAR IS NOT AN ANIME -_-''

Avatar is great but no, it is not anime. It is inspired by Japanese animation, but the animation itself is absolutely American. People should see the inspirations, but not confuse it for legit Japanese anime.

I don't really see why anyone would care. It's not technically anime, it's borderline anime and Western-style animation. That makes it unique and even more awesome.

umm, that's just an art style and perhaps they liked the style. Why can only Asians use it? I don't think it ruined it. I liked how they looked =D What was the only similarity it had with anime really? The eyes? Cuz they sure didn't have the weird clothes and wacky hair colors or the speedy backgrounds XD

Ohhh that part about ppl calling Avatar and anime is kinda annoying XD

I don't think they ruined it at all. They used the Japanese style (mostly, the eyes, the face-shapes, the expressions, etc) with the American style-animation, and I think it turned out great.

well the face shape is actually in many forms of animation more or less exaggerated so it doesn't really count. The expressions are similar to both anime and silly children's cartoons.

True, true. I liked it, too. Avatar is the best-looking show on Nickelodeon, and probably a lot of its appeal came from that.

miyazaki's new movie is Ponyo but its not out yet... it will be soon though...

and if i remember right sokka and katara both have medium to darkish colored skin, and zuko's is a little darker than theirs is.

lol, girl crush on zuko thats adorable.. i had an almost annoying desire for katara to notice aang.

i think they ended the series too soon, they could have done a fourth season about the rebuilding of the nations! and everything, i really hate it when they leave me wanting more =D

rebuilding the nations? Who's the antagonist? Aang knows all 4 elements. I mean, maybe if they show a story about the next Avatar after mroe Airbenders are being born again through Aang and Katara (some waterbenders, some Airbenders...but seems like they'd end up being one nation with both water and air but mostly water considering air is only just coming back. Maybe it's 3 Avatar's later where Air benders are minority. But I'd miss the old cast XD)

They could always go into the past, too, about some Avatar we haven't heard of yet.

But yeah, I'll have a hard time getting into it as much because I already really love the original cast.

@childofthemoor What I meant was a non pre-existing Avatar in the not-so-distant future so the Air Nomads could just barely be coming back maybe in groups as small as te Southern Water Tribe since it'd only be like 2 generations later. But that'd have to mean Aang was dead whether the others are alive and old or not. =(

If they did a previous Avatar it'd be far enough past to not relate to Roku or the Air Nomad whipe out (meaning we'd get all 4 nations at least)

@Axxidous it doesn't have to be so complicated, they can show another season about rebuilding the nations, they will probably have a couple of fire nation rebellions to deal with, will ang and katara ever be together? they dont necessarily have to have a huge antagonist to make a good show

@climbordie7 What? That's not complicated it'd just be a new storyline. The only reason why doing another season for Aang as the Avatar wouldn't work is because they'd need a story and a fourth season is bland if it's nothing but rebuilding... I guess the Southern Water Tribe and Air Nomads since the rest are fine. The seasons were Elements meaning season 4 would HAVE to be Book: Air with an antagonist.

@climbordie7 The only way to really show Air Nomads come back is for Aang to be old enough to have offspring and even then it'd be only his kids. He'd have to at least have great grand kids to make a set as big as the Fire Nation Family. Rebuilding the nations is like one or 2 episodes but would be a bit boring compared to the rest of the series without an antagonist. Fire Nation Rebels end up with Ozai, in prison. The only thing we'd have to go on is finding Zuko's mom IF she weren't dead.

i love avatar, they are making a movie series out of the show... not animated! i hope they dont wreck it. it was my first anime show and i was immediately hooked. i also love love love howls moving castle.. movie and book.

The thing is, they totally messed up with the casting in my opinion...Katara and Sokka have dark skin, Zuko has light skin...they flipped it. I wish they would have done better with that.

I hope they do a good job, regardless. I'm psyched for the merchandise. ;)

Me too! Miyazaki came out with a new film...haven't seen it yet...

@childofthemoor yes but im extremely excited that jackson rathbone is playing sokka i think he has a very dynamic personality and can add alot to the character. he can be really funny.

Yeah, it was a cliffhanger...the good thing is I heard rumor that there will be another series in the Avatar world...not the same characters, sadly, but in the same world...we might have more explanations too, then, ya know?

I am sad it's over, I miss the characters. A lot. Especially Zuko. Iroh and Zuko were my favorites, course I love them all, but...I had a little girl crush on Zuko and now he's gone. :(

i agree with u with most everything ur sayin. i fell n luv with it 4 the same reasons u did, and im n anime fan 2, n everytime i passd by it on tv i was lyk stupid boy wit arrow on his head, but i actually sat down 2 watch it n it was amazing. im sad 2 see that its over. iroh's a cool ole dude, but my fav character is zuko because of his whole journey of finding who he really is, it's amazing, really. azula going insane, the way you explained it, was funni bcuz i never lookd at it from dat angle
