Huge profits made by London-based brokers who arrange emissions-cutting projects in developing countries contrast with little benefit for the world's poorest nations, company and United Nations data shows.
The Kyoto Protocol on global warming allows rich countries to meet greenhouse gas emissions targets by paying poor nations to cut emissions on their behalf, using the so-called clean development mechanism (CDM).
good start. we shouldnt just leave it to governments though, each individual need to take responsibility in their own small way and take small actions in their every day life to reduce their carbon footprint.
Why are we putting limits on our own industry, forcing them to move to China where not only do they not benefit our economy but are free to literally dump their waste wherever they want.
David Miliband appears to be a very well-spoken and intelligent man, but at 41 I think he's just too young to be UK Prime Minister. 10 years from now he'll be perfect.
We know the globe is warming, we know the levels of co2 are rising, we know that humans have been causing enormous amounts of co2 to be released into the air, we know that the rises in co2 and the heating of the glob have been seemingly in concert. Can you think of any other cause for the changes in our enviroment. I cant.
You do not seem to be completely stupid. You must know that the evidence is that the Sun affects climate and that increased CO2 is an effect of solar radiation changes.
Out of interest what do you think about multi-billionaire Maurice Strong's involvement in UNCED? Have you met him? Are you good friends?
Look for the simplest answer see my comment above. Why look for reasons not to accept. Follow simple logic. The earth is getting warmer, co2 is a gas that can cause this heating, we have been emitting enormous amounts for nearly 100 years, co2 is rising, where do you think all that gas is going and what is it doing. Their are ppl in this world that dont want to see co2 emissions cut for their own hip pocket not because of any logical reason dont let them trick you.
BS big time. How much of global COs emissions are directly related to human actions. Humans emit more CO2 then per day then all cars together! The climate has always been changing - and its called climate variation.
I still support it then energy security is important and if the UK gov uses a backdoor like they did with Saddam ... please.
As a last question: When the climate variation will cool the earth again. Who do you blame? The solar industry?
The Bill seeks -60% cut by 2050. This is too little too late and lacks a global rationale. Gov't took the UK-only figure from the RCEP. RCEP recommended global Contraction & Convergence. The government avoids any global rationale for revision. Parlaiment's All Party Group on Climate Change shortly publish a DVD with the global C&C risk-rationale and international support for this. DEFRA need this if they need all-party support.
I have posted this on my blog along with my thoughts on the climate change bill.
The bill is essential, faulty and inadequate.
I very much hope that key improvements are made including: Addressing Aviation, Shipping, Annual targets, a Carbon Treasury with budgetary powers, Improving the target.
What a joke !!!
This bill is the evolution of Thatcher's pro nuclear NFFO legislation. The final defeat of the coal unions !
Pure politics ! Non-science nonsense !!

Global warming is phantom science! Stop taxing us on it: The UK government earns £$10 billion a year from 'CO2' stuff!

Too little, likely too late. Without a massive carbon tax it's rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

There is bellow 0.0000037% CO2 in the general air: It cycles with plant groweth, so it follows tyhe climae, it does not force it.

Rubbish science! Global WArming is fiction! Plants take in CO2 to grow, and thus support your life!

CO2 has nothing to do with the climate! Solar cycles do!

thank god people are getting hip to this all being bullshit and bad science

The bill apart I am extremely impressed by a Minister's presence on YouTube - WELL DONE.
Btw johnh1967 there is a blue cheese in the background because the video is coming from DEFRA - Department for Environment, FOOD and Rural Affairs

Should be having legislations passed when we DON'T KNOW CO2 is the CAUSE of CC?

Ostriches are the only creatures not to know that CO2 is a major contributor to Climate Change

The evidence is overwhelming. The trouble is the action being taken doesn't go nearly far enough.

check it out on you tube:
The Great Global Warming Swindel.
Might may you think twice why the West is so eager to pass bills on CO2 reduction.

Wonderful work. I hope this the beginning of a larger movement - now it is up to the G8 to follow. We can only hope.
