The music was positively gorgeous, but there was absolutely no point in the video. I can recognize that they have amazing voices, but...that's about it. There was absolutely no arc to the video. The music developed, grew and reached a beautiful denouement, however the video was just a bunch of people standing around singing in nice looking architecture.

@oigtlap This video is incredibly helpful in showing people proper vowel formations and physical aids for resonance, all within the mask of the face. See how their eyebrows are raised, and for the more open vowels, such as "ah", their top lips are raised, in order to achieve a brighter sound.

I don't even see where this "flaws" are sticking out. I mean, yeah occasionally there's a moment of less than perfect tuning but those are few and far between. Every voice is quite strong. And for a small ensemble this is of the highest quality. Can someone please point out an exact time in the recording that we're talking about here?

Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard, conducted, or performed has NEVER been flawless, so regardless of tuning... this piece is simply wonderful and this group has once again brought me to tears ... they did not post this for people to rip them apart.. they posted it for people to enjoy, so enjoy it!

well - you are all easily impressed. I think this is rather mediocre singing and frankly YOU SHOULD KNOW! But the recording of Westminster Cathedral Choir singing this. Hyperion records.... and also, buy some ear-cleaners!! Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I loathe the You tube mentality where all kinds of crap comes in for gushing praise from the ignorant masses. Quality is NOT negotiable!

Ok, you may like the WCC more than that recording, but saying that it is MEDIOCRE? I don't think you ever sang in a choir. Or at least it doesn't look like you did. This is a quite hard song to sing, especially without a conductor, and it's also a quite good performance from a quite good choir. They're not being easily impressed, as for me, and they're not ignorant. I'd like you to explain me why this singing is so mediocre! Ou bien es-tu vendu aux chorales ne contenant pas de femmes?

I should say that I have not only sung in a choir but my professional life is spent directing choirs (I shall say no more) - of both sexes. I know this piece is difficult, having conducted it many times. If they are bold enough to put their performance on YouTube, then they must expect honest reaction. The tuning is poor and the voices are not all up to this piece. They should have put a simpler piece on. Commentries are not just for people who think everything is tear-jerkingly glorious.

I don't blame you for posting a negative comment -if so, I'd have rated it down- but I was wondering why you said they were mediocre. And I totally agree that they should should expect both sorts of comments, but just saying it's mediocre is not constructive at all, if you see my point. Thanks for answering, I totally understand your point, but for me musicality is more important than tuning, especially because most listeners don't have a good ear for tuning.

No one is saying that you have to like this performance,but if are a professional conductor maybe you should give some CONSTRUCTIVE critisism instead of saying that they sound bad...im not saying that the performance is perfectly in tune,but it has musicallity and purity. its fine to say that you don't like this performance compared to WCC's but try not to sound like a stuck up asshole while your doing it. So if your head goes any farther up your ass i'd recommend you BUY a glass bellybutton.

Absolutely magical. Breathtaking..

Whenever I listen to this performance, I forget that I am alive. All time, and existence just disappears, and it feels like perfection; humanist perfection. Although there are small intonation problems, it adds to the beauty, and if made perfect, would take away from the performance.
