Bob said on a radio interview one of his favourite albums was My bloody valentines Loveless. That must have influenced the genius of this album not that he needs any help. Check that album out too its brilliant as well as Modulate which is incredible!
I think this and "Last Dog and Pony" show are his best two albums, including all Sugar and Husker... way more interesting and diverse than any of his other records. By the way, the band Gorrillaz ripped off "Sunset Safety Glass" with their big hit "Feel Good Inc.".
this is plain lovely. bob...there's something in the sound that my head aches for and ears thirst for when i go too long without it. subtle angry intelligence.

In retrospect this album deserves more credit.

There's so much harmonic overload going on that it disconnects yr head! Makes you want to start it off again within 3 secs...

Listening to Modulate again after some years makes me
recognize the beauty and atmosphere of that album...and
this song is typical for it...
