  • 2:50 se olvidó de cantar y se nota el playback!

  • maravilllosa!

  • I'm crying right now! My mother used to play this song in the car on long journeys. Good memories ;w;

  • One of the last great 80s tunes. I had it on tape back then and loved it. Lyrics were also in tune with 4th grade English :-)

  • 0.36 SHE FORGETS THE LYRICS SO SPINS ROUND TO HIDE HER OUT-OF-SYNC LIPS... CLASSIC.

  • i love liza and i love this song!<3

  • I simply adore Liza!<3

  • the best Karaoke in the world

  • Good acting piece for her. But - so choreograhed - so mannered. Good performance tho with a different twist on a Sondheim torch song. She sounds great.

  • @jeh500 She's miming to a recording- and atrociously badly it has to be said. The camera has to do a long shot at different points in an attempt to disguise the fact but she's clearly struggling to remember most of the words and the extremely uncomfortable expression on her face clearly shows.

  • Liza's brilliant, and I adore her, but I find this version of the song absolutely hilarious!

  • a diva foreverah!

  • Swa here Live in Marbella in 2007 .. Liza is out of this world definatly was nt mimming ... xxxx

  • lip synching.. :-)

  • Can't quite put my finger on it. Either the sound is out of synch, she's miming or the audio has been replaced for the video. It sounds too clean to be a live performance. I'm leaning toward the latter. The applause at the end sounds canned. That's irrelevant though. What a track! Sounds so much better than when Neil Tennant sings it.

  • @TheREAL5m0k3y She's totally miming. At various points it's obvious she's actually forgotten half the words and turns round to hide her face when it happens. I love the song but this performance is excruciating to watch.

  • Oscar emmy grammy golden globe tony enough said

  • Playback detected

  • 23 people have absolutely NO TASTE

  • Well spotted Dr Hairy lol...a big show like that and she mimes...tut tut

Still a big Liza fan tho...

  • STUNNINNG XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • She is very top to madona it acts as much better in the stage apart from singing she is an idol !!!

  • Thanks to the Pet Shop Boys for producing this song....from the album "Results"

  • thanks to the Pet Shp Boys for producing this song!

  • oh. no.

  • Where's all the passion?! it should be sung slower and with way more emotion!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG OF LIZA SHIS GRAET PERFORMER AND GREAT TALENT, IM IN A GREAT LOVE NOW, AND I FILL LIKE I LOSING MY MIND, YOU SO RIGHT DEAR LIZA! LOVE YOU FOR THAT

  • qué grande liza y qué gran tema.

  • I hate this version of the song. In my record collection, I keep the LP in the comedy section, along with jokes like The Ethel Merman Disco Album and Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy.

  • This is one of my favorites of Liza. I used to have the channel name conchaperez, but now my new channel name is Kasbah Kabaret. Love you YouTube lovers!

  • What concert is this?

  • @Elizar777 Palais Des Congrès 1991 with Charles Aznavour

  • @strawberrycurrant Thank you Strawberry =) I just got truly introduced to Liza after hearing her sing "Rent" on Kylie Minogue's documentary White Diamond. I play this song literally everyday on my way to work. I hope to see her live one of these days.

  • @Elizar777 I hope you enjoy more of Liza's work! she's a wonderfully unique talented lady. cheers!

  • Fantastic song ....goes back to her involvement with Pet Shop Boys. She also had another hit after this one called Love Pains.

  • What year was this made?

  • @LaerdBryn i was just watching her on the Appretice & decided to google her name.

this song came out in 1993, shes great But her Mom was a better singer

  • @MetalHeart8787 No, the song was released in 1989.

  • A Diva in desperation

  • @conchaperez thanks. it's an easy listen. the song is from an old b'way show and had a very somber tone so it seems this version was fun, though. i didn't see the vid with the moves and all until after hearing a few times. like the sound, didn't understand the choreography, but maybe it looked better live rather than on the small screen.

  • @conchaperez cheeky bugger

  • Liza is simply incredible!!! Love her!

  • I love this more every time I watch or listen....been about 100 times so far. WOW.

  • Chingona y media! Don't fuck with Liza.

  • at 2:50 was that mic anywhere near here mouth? When she's singing "or were you just being kind"

  • @NitB92

Me thinketh Liza was losing her mind here. Me thinketh she was lip-sinketh-ing on this one. Little much. Just sayin.'

  • @NitB92 she was deff lipsynching because it sounds identical to the actual music video.

  • Last night I dreamed her singing this inside Studio 54......

    I'm 19...

And I've never been to Studio 54

  • @Dangay13

I don't want to alarm you, but, Dangay, but I think you're channeling Bianca Jagger or Andy Warhol or Halson himself. It happens to gay boys from time-to-time, and we all go back to Studio 54 -- and Liza is ALWAYS singing SOMEthing in the dream because, well, she was ALWAYS there. It's like a gay fever. It will go away in time.

  • You know, she DOES kick Madonna's butt!

  • wow Sondheim is crying a curled up little ball right now. Since when does an amazing ballad like this get destroyed in to a disco hit?! Judy Garland needs to come back and tell her daughter to change her look too...come on Liza...you got more chops than that!

  • Liza is the original article!

  • Only Liza could pull this off! LOVE her!

  • Liza looks fabulous. But what an unorthodox rendition. Really wrecks the drama of the ballad. Sondheim must be cringing.

  • I love how gay this is!

  • ES plaback? La canción super bien pero....Is that a playback!?

  • Love her but this version is horrendous! it shouldnt be fast like this, it just takes away the essence & Meaning of how it was written. I dont think it should of been jazzed up like this! if sondheim was dead he would be rolling in his grave.

  • I like this version. Variety is the spice of life. Liza looked fabulous!

  • I like this version.

  • I love Liza

  • Who else performs like this from extended parents in the MGM ERA... no one but LIZA....

  • Well, for fuck's sake, she'll be 63 this year... And God bless her for it.

  • Yurherenow why don't you take your face for a shite you fucking piece of crap!

  • wow, the haters comments pretty funny....more entertaining than the vid. even tho' i enjoy lm has eyes i'm pretty sure don't come along very often

  • err i dont like how fast this is. liza's great but this shudnt be so fast

  • Yurhernow My comment wasnt verbal you dozy cunt and its funny how you turned out a low life like me your daddy, most likely eh HA HA HA ha h a

  • ok correction Barbedhookface, "written" like a typical low life. You're crude & tasteless, zero class, just like this fat washed up old drunk that you enjoy listening too.

  • @yurherenow Must be sad to be so bitter...and so misinformed.

  • @yurherenow You certainly have proved what a bitter and sad person you are. I pity you.

  • Yurherenow Your theory is all to fuck there I probably fucked your wife, mother and sister and I think lizaz voice is excellent and why did you click on her anyway

  • Barbedhook spoken like a typical low life. who else could be into this old washed up drunk? . Your crude & tasteless just like this old 1970's druggie drunk that you idolize.

  • simplemente maravillosa

  • My first boyfriend bought me this record, I still wonder why? Love Liza though, she is very camp and a brill singer. Judy would be so proud of her!

  • Amazing. Liza is the penultimate star of the 21st century. She dazzles, she delights, she enthralls. Liza, we'll love you forevermore!

  • viva la madre que te pario liza!!!

  • :O

    Holy shit. REMIX!!

  • When Liza sings I loose my mind, but i find my heart. Thanks to this incredible superb artist, to this so delicate woman.

  • Delicate? She's tough and a real survivor.

  • Love our American divas!

More power to them. As with wine, they just GET BETTER!

  • a born true BIG TALENT she is ! and lovely person .

  • Magical Liza saw her last year in London and she was awesome, the ultimate professional, come back soon Liza and PLEASE sing this song !!!!!

  • Wonderful performance.

  • In memory of my friend Chief Karen Thomas. Love and miss you always, sometimes it best to talk to someone when things are s**t.

  • I love this video. She is a great class act performer. Thanks for posting!

  • I love Madonna, but Liza is a superb performer and true star!!!! She kick's ass over Madonna!!!!!

  • @conchaperez Liza is a classic performer. There's no comparison.

  • @conchaperez That's like comparing milk to coke.

  • Liza is in the category of entertainers who are great: Cher, Michael Jackson, Madonna.

  • except she can SING, unlike Madonna. Get real.

  • Madonna may not have the singing voice of a Liza but she can sure put on a show! This is why she is the number 1 selling female artist of all time. This isn't just talk, it's a fact. Do your homework.

  • With Madonna, there is the skank factor.

    Liza, Barbra, both are women!

  • Don't forget Barbra

  • never heard of her

  • Liza at her best!

  • Someone should ask Steven Sondheim what he thinks- I'll bet he and Liza talked about it, one time or another- and the Pet Shop Boys talked about it w/them too-

Liza is a Pro. A Thinker. A Risk-taker, and, well, I Like this! (Love to ALL)

  • My dog loves this song!

  • thats the best lizas

  • Someone should tell her not to dance.

For a minute I thought she was making fun of people with cerebral palsy.

  • Great version, great singer... too bad she made playback

  • Why did ANYONE decide that this arrangement was a good idea? "Losing MY Mind" with a friggin drum machine?

  • Oh and I think the dancing is great.

  • I think Liza is ace.

  • lmao this is the craziest 80's rendition of this song ever

  • wahat the hell is this? she really is loosing her mind..

  • super hicior !

  • this makes me laugh!! But I love Liza!! Her dancing makes me chuckle!

  • Americans never understood this record and its a pitty because results is one of the best records ever made ... of course europeans and probably the rest of the world got the point into the classy blend that is Liza with PSB. LIZA CAN SING ANYTHING! and it will always be superb, if theres someone in this world that has earned each won award is Liza Minnelli, and she's got it all. A truly living legend!!!

  • So true, Americans freak at the idea of electronic music. Morons!

  • thank you for your share! :)

  • eee god she is losing her mind....

wots up with the dance routine

  • Do you know, who is She?

Not a fricking dancer... and this is end of 80's.

She is a Diva, daughter of Judy Garland!

  • yeah, fabulous record. and DROP DEAD BOMBS is a wild, under rated tune, too.

    go, girl!!

  • wonderful and beautiful in equal measures.

  • Liza babe :P

  • great voice!

  • Looking fabulous as always XoXo

  • wow i thought this was good except her outfits are awful...

  • Liza gave it a good try. She's a story-song singer. DiscoTek isn't her bag, but it's still fun. And she looks WOW in black and red. Always did!

  • It just doesn't get any better than this!!!!!

  • my friend loves liza, and now i do to

  • Brilliant song, but the moves are terrible. Better to listen than to look at.

  • Love her.

  • how did her movements have anything to do with what she was singing about?

"like so many pet shop boys songs" it's Sondheim!

you should hear the original song - because it's beautiful. that was upsetting.

  • who needs that kind of taste or discretion when everything you do is fabulous. even when she passes out in europe, liza is fabulous

  • Liza gives me chills. She is so talented, it almost seems unfair to other performers.

  • This is a terrific performance.

  • What can you say about this lady, totally gifted, like mother like daughter!!

  • This is cool. However, check out the 'Holly Cole Trio' version (I posted it as a video here) VERY different but sensual interpretation. I prefer Holly's over the disco version.

  • i've never heard this version. its brilliant!!!

  • Bittersweet, like so many great Pet Shop Boys' songs. I really like this.

crying with a smile on her face lol.

  • BRILLIANT BRILLIANT!!!!!! Yes Michael Ball sings it good but i think this is much betta!!

  • just wonderful.simply wonderful.

  • Great and beautiful!!

  • Dancing, singing, and acting at the same time is perfectly acceptable. This "performance," however, is anything but. Like a really bad 80s show, but not as entertaining.

  • Liza looks good.

  • we had ONE liza. nothing compares...

  • Was it the Radio City 1991 show? Looks like it :D Best selling concerts of '91 in all of N America

  • Where was this "performed"?

  • ik hou van die meid!

  • Liza Minelli has been lip-syncing in live performances since her Broadway show "The Act" in the 1970s. You might say she was a pioneer of that. Audiences accustomed to hearing professionally produced recordings pretty much demand it.

  • Actually Liza started mimimg earlier in her career. She started miming in Liza at the Winter Garden and then it caused quite a stir. People said they felt cheated that they were paying to see a live concert and some demanded there money back. Funny how times have changed. if you go to see Kylie or Cher or even Dolly, you're luck if you hear a live note during the dance numbers !! But I love Liza !!!

  • While "Liza at the Winter Garden" was an SRO 3-week limited run of a concert show, its main commercial purpose was in recording from it a highly successful special it produced for television, where stars lip syncing their hits was a long-accepted convention. It was in reviews for Kander and Ebb's "The Act" in 1977 where Liza and the producers were roundly criticized for betraying Broadway show audiences' expectation of a totally live experience.

  • what the fuck?

  • I love her crazy way of dancing...it's actually as she was losing her mind....

  • the best liza!

  • lipsync?? oh well i do love liza.

  • Yeah, it's lip syncing, but unlike a lot of people, she can at least do it well. It's not blatantly obvious.

  • yeah i noticed it was lips syncing first when she didn't get to tha microphone in time. that and when she was supposedly whispering. but why would she lip sync with that voice?

  • trop bon,trop beau,trop belle ,trop tout

  • Ah disco! But why does this make me think of old David Bowie recordings? Ha, ha. What Minelli lacked in vocal excellence she more than made up for with personality and style. I didn't realize her vocal wobble was there at such an early age.

  • It was vibratto, which was intentional. However, I do like the comparison to Bowie - I think Liza and Bowie are both incredibly sexy.

  • There's a point at which vibrato becomes wobble. It isn't deliberate and it just get more intense with age unless one addresses the problem with a great vocal coach. The Minelli voice has heavy wobble these days; too bad it wasn't worked on long ago, but maybe one doesn't correct a biggee like L.M..

She still has guts, poise, personality, charm and history. She's a fine actress, too. Too bad the voice is shot these days, but the rest is still there.

  • What performance are you talking about? Every video I saw she's making playback of this amazing song! Liza sucks.

  • Its the performers ability to materialise the lyrics and music tones troughout their body and eyes out on stage, the movements, the "feelings and emotions, the use of the stage to entertain the viewers.

She didnt sang with Sinatra, Sammy, Martin for nothing...

  • I loveyou Liza Minnelli

  • When you look at these young singers today, none of them gets close to Liza Minelli!!!! These new singers are mediocre!!
