"Enemy at the gates" a fine movie, with realist war images and fight scenes. Ed Harris was brilliant as König. He portrayed a professional character. I liked him the mostly.

I loved the movie and Ed Harris's acting even though the movie was largely fiction. The Ron Perlman character wasn't killed when helping Zaitsez, and the political officer Danilove was wounded trying to point out the German super sniper -- named Hans Thorvald (sp) -- not killed. I watched that movie several times. The portrayal of Kruschev was priceless!

I notice Ed says something about his character being in the Waffen-SS. But look at his uniform underneath the jacket. That colar piping isn't appropriate for a Waffen'SS uniform, for a Heer uniform it would be, but on the SS uniforms they had two black parallelogram shapes patches.

I believe the left one typically denoted the soldiers rank and the right collar patch had the rune SS. Then there was a black piping with white trim that was worn on the epaulets. Either this is a mistake by

@FDNY612 Anyone who studies WW2 history could tell you that it would be rare for any front line SS sniper to wear the Waffen-SS uniform, It would mean a very painful death if they were to be taken alive. So they did a fine job with that detail i think.

a nice person and a good actor...but not a convincing sniper.

(caught snipers get gutted by the opponent troops, so how do you think ordinary troopers look at their own snipers ?.... would you share food in the canteen with jack the ripper if he were to sit next to you ?..snipers = solitary men)
