Man, am I glad I found this channel! Subscribed. Oddly, nothing puts me to sleep faster than a good thunderstorm (unless, of course, a big ol' sockdolager hits nearby). I wish I had the equipment to make my own videos of them. Here in the Ottawa Valley we sometimes get GREEN and PURPLE lightning, but I'm not sure if it's the lightning itself or atmospheric conditions, as the Valley is a temperature inversion zone. We sure get some nasty cells, sometimes, too.
@rogerstill71 Thanks so much for subscribing!! And like you, I do find storms soothing..but then I usually get amped up and have to go outside to film them from my front porch if they are coming through late at night lol. Thanks again for checking out my videos! All the best to you
This reminds me of my first experience with a lighting stuck bak wen i was a kid, i was 11 at that time and i was outside talking to my friend it was pouring down rain and i was just leaning on the wall and talking to him, then suddently a lightning struck just went past my eyes and hit the wall i was leaning on. I got very lucky that day, thanks to allah :)
@sh4d0w2k9 Certainly glad you weren't struck that day. Yes, lightning is definitely one of the most dangerous aspects of a thunderstorm for sure. Thanks for watching!
I've seen some wild weather around where I live, and it actually knocked my electricity out! My dad and I went out on the search for the source of the power outage, but the search, unfortunately, was a bust. We didn't find the source, but during a nighttime power outage, my dad and I went out on the search for THAT power outage's source, and THAT search was a hit. We did other searches for damage other years and found multiple traces of damage.
@MsKristenb123 Not scared, but I always have a healthy dose of respect for nature. I never take her for granted and I never under estimate her. Thanks for watching!
@TheCowday Was a great storm! And the last night of our quick spot chase where we flew out, rented a car and chased. Nice way to end it. Thanks for watching!
@arpadpihes There are many great camera available on the market today. Any mini dv camera will do great, preferably one that shoots in high definition. So if you can afford it, go with any of the HDV cameras.
@tornadovideostock Lol nope I'm at the other side of the hemisphere :P californians don't know what a real earthquake is unless they get above 6.5 Richter.
I'm from Chile, so its protected by two mountain chains (andes and coast)
@contaku ha ha this is true. You folks there in Chile certainly know what a real earthquake is! I hope you don't experience them anytime soon, but I know the possibility is there. So glad you've enjoyed my channel!
hey does supercells happen in the country of belize is this true because one day i saw a storm like this with a lot of lightning rain and wind with small hail but i heard that supercell can't form in central america is this true?
@celebrityfan1990 Supercells can form just about anywhere really. As long as the conditions are right. I know they are common in Argentina, not sure how common they are in Belize but I'm sure they do occur. Thanks so much for watching!!
@crystalnrich Thanks for watching! Yes, the storm was producing a ton of lightning but that wind direction was such that the sound of the thunder wasn't making it to us at that time. Later that evening there was plenty of it! lol
No matter the worst events and deepest depression whenever the sky darkens or the distant thunder, even a hint of rain and I feel wonderful, strange really I also often dream of storms, then again I am into some mystisism stuff so... Anyway wonderful video really relaxing, nice place to! '-'
@miles305678 I agree with you. I love the feel of storms. The smell of the rain as it nears with the thunder and lightening. My friends think I am crazy but I love the rain and the bad weather. It makes me feel wonderful.
Hi, Scott, simply fantastic ! In this video it can bee seen some rare and very spectacular cloud turbulence and beautiful lightning show. Greate capture !
@NathanWithrow Thanks Nathan! This was a great way to end the day for sure. And I captured one of my best lightning shots ever with my Nikon D70 later on this same night. got it hanging on my living room wall :)
@garyhstorms10 I don't recall hearing any now that you mention it. I believe this to be in part due to the wind direction. Later that evening after we got our rooms in McCook, we went out and did more lightning photography, this time with just our still cameras, and the wind was blowing towards us, and I do at that point recall hearing thunder. Right at the end of this clip, the wind did finally begin to blow in our direction, and that's when we jumped back in the car and headed down the road
Last year, out in Strafford TX, I saw quite a display. There was so much lightning it was like strobe lights going off.
Great video. I'm glad you posted. :-)
