They do show the big V8 S.U.V's like Hummer H2's, Dodge Rams, Ford F-250's, GMC Yukon/Chevy Suburbans a lot of the time on T.V programmes. The traffic on their freeways/highways is mixed like ours between big & small, it also depends on what state you are in. The Pontiac Sunfire/Mercury/Ford Escort/Chevrolet Cavalier/Mercury Topaz are small cars with 4-pot engines & have been around in the USA for yonks. Ive been in the states myself quite a few times & its not as bad as what its made out to be

The Average U.S traffic is still a bit bigger in size than our average U.K traffic (not much difference these days) but since the Mid-1990's they have been downsizing a lot of 4.6L V8's -> 3.0L V6's. They even sell the new 2009 Ford Fiesta in the USA now. The cars we class as compacts are Fiestas/Corsas etc. The cars USA class as compacts are Focuses/Saturn Astras etc. Other than that, normal car/lorry/van traffic is the same as us but with a few more S.U.V's & Pick-ups.
