people don't read newspapers anymore they read it for free online. most magazines aren't doing to well either since people can find info online far easier than in a magazine

People are still reading newspapers. Granted, many readers are going online to get the product for free but what is hurting newspapers most is advertisers are moving away from newspapers and that is how they make money. Newspapers can get more for print ads than online ads as well. Advertisers can reach their audiences a lot cheaper on the internet so newspaper no longer have such a monopoly on people seeking news.
