  • mine did that! had a bad idler pulley

  • 99% sure its the idler pulley

2 things i did when experiencing the same type of noise.

    1. i replaced the idler pulley

    2. checked the belt. after that my truck was running just like new again.

  • Or bad power steering pump

  • It's the power steering sounds like air in it needs to be bled

  • sounds like an idler pulley.

  • yes

  • SAME NOISE WITH 2000 JEEP WRANGLER.....0IIIIII0...=(

  • My 05 wrx is making the same noise. Lol I didn't know how to describe the sound other than "the mini van noise".

  • @nismoracing2 mind explaining how im stupid?

  • @HooYahNavySEALS Your making it seem like the car is junk. Bcuz its JDM? come on! grow up

  • @HooYahNavySEALS What's so riced about this car?

  • Wow, interior from a bugeye, looks neat. :-)

  • power steering?

  • its either the belt tensioner or the idler pulley

my 2006 chevy trailblazer has the same noise

  • @jrdoodle1 same with mine

  • great mine sounds exactly like that! now i know!

  • I had the same noise with my 99 cavalier (yeah, i know...) and my idler pulley eventually busted its bearings, and went crooked on me. I replaced the idler pulley and now my car sounds as rough and tough as a cavalier possibly can.

  • @kvalukis hahaha i lmao to this!

  • that is definetely the idler.. I have a saturn and my car sounds like it's crying!!! is it ok for me to drive it with it not breaking down until I get it fixed?

  • Sounds like the belt tensioner. My Mountaineer did this recently.

  • mine only makes a noise when i take off. and i just replaced the belt. so i was like wtf. my dad told me to put some soap on it to clean up the grease so i might do that. but anyother suggestions

  • powerr steering pump ?

  • i just had the idler pulley done today the car just needs a harmonic balancer pulley and a rad

  • Maybe too much rice in the gas tank?, j/k, You can take the belt off and see if the noise stops, then check each the alt, idlers, power steering pump etc for weirdness.

  • I had the same exact sound on my 02 wrx for about 2 and half months, opened my hood today and was able to see that the ac belt was getting shredded. It's the ac idler pulley, so if you let it keep going the same will probably happen to you. The bearing most likely went bad. I'm just going to go pick up a new pulley and install it. Don't go to a shop, save your money, it's something anyone can do.

  • @labradors0 My car is having the same problem, im 45 min away from home, my ac belt broke, is it ok if i drive back with no belt on? can that damage other parts of the engine?

  • I have the same exact sound. What was it...idler pulley??

  • did you fix your noise problem yet..let me know..i have the same sound..

  • no I haven't

  • damn how its been since making that noise...i let you know when i find out whats the problem

  • It's been okay. The sound has been present since I've had it so I don't know. It's not as loud as the video either so I don't know if the sound is abnormal

  • I have a 2002 with 130,000... And had the same exact sound.... it is an Idealer Pulley...

    $130.00 Installed at The Dealership...

Car should be done soon, can't wait to ripp up some snow.....

  • See/hear this all the time at me and my dads shop. Usually the culprit is either the clutch on the AC condenser dying, P/S pump dying, Alternator dying and once a water pump that was seizing. Almost always turns out to be the AC compressor clutch.

  • I had that same noise too. I thought it was normal until I had my transmission serviced, then...no noise. The fluid was very thick when they drained it, it took damn near two hours.

  • how would it be the tranny if it makes the noise parked.... dummy

  • @oss149

uh did i say it was the tranny? i just said i had it serviced and suddenly there was no noise. i had the same noise when i was in park. and yeah, I am a dummy when it comes to cars because im not a mechanic...so back da fuck up off of me, u creep.

  • I had the same problem on my 280zx turbo. The bearing was shot.

  • rice rockets.

    they are no good.

  • Me and my dad just got an s10 pickup for us to work on as my first car and it sounds exactly the same.

  • im having the same issue man, i see that this is pretty old but if you could messsage me with what you did to fix, thanks and good looking RS!!!

  • Timing belt was too tight

  • alert alert rice rockets!

  • The pulley has recently broken off, so i took the belt to the AC side completely off, and now the noise is gone.

  • Timing belt?Generators?

    I Have GDB-A Total48000km No Trouble...
