Thats my point. I have Scottish ancestry, but I do not consider myself Scottish. I am Canadian. It has been 80 years since my grandfather left Dundee. I don't know a soul in Scotland, don't even know if I have relatives there. Bruce Watson is the guitarist, and the one I was speaking of, born in Timmins, Ontario, about 400 kms north of Toronto. Adam Stuartson was born in Manchester.

Could you be ruled from Washington? You could still have a small place in your heart for the wee country from which your genes descend. I am a proud Canadian, and would die before being ruled by another country. I have no beef with Scotland, in fact I will visit in the next year or two, and am told by elder people in my family that I exhibit traits of my grandpa in manner. My problem is with the loads of people here who fake their 'Scottishness' with bad accents and stupid drunken behavior. Or talk of renewing hostilities with the British?!!

Yes, that is annoying. Many forget that the last battle on British soil was not Scots against English. Members of the same families fought on both sides at Culloden, with Irish and Welsh on both sides as well. So a fairly British battle for the British crown. We Scots couldn't agree to fight as one since King Kenneth united most of us in the 9th century. And it was the greed of a few well-placed Scots that eventually b(r)ought the so hated Union. So, basically, we only have ourselves to blame.

Stuart Adamson was born in manchester but was brought up dunfermline and know he classed himself as a fifer. he supported dunfermline athletic football club and his speech at the leishman protest back in the 80s was inspiring. he was a great man and he was a fifer not a manc. RIP BIG MAN

Scotland is very beautiful. I visited Scotland for my holidays last year and it was much better than England. I think that Scotland is a great place and was pleased to be there. We Chinese like Scotland a lot.
