Makes me wonder, what does savage worlds have anything to do with Conan, except that they put a suppliment for solomon cane and R. howard wrote both, and why choose Savage worlds over the multitude of other generic fantasy rulesets

Although the SWSK corebook was generally good, I was really unimpressed by the plot point campaign. The various encounters varied little from, 'arrive in new place - something's up - MONSTER!"

Are the plot hooks in this book any more ambitious?

I have yet to see an RPG game capture the true flavor of Conan...The TSR AD&D modules weren't good at all, the TSR Conan RPG was pretty anorexic, and as indepth and slick as the Mongoose stuff is I just don't like the whole D20 system. I am gonna have to check out this Savage Worlds system to see if it's more my style. Kane would be an excellent place to start.

@Mordante69 Its more rules medium, and has a fairly brutal curve in combat: we've had some amazing damage rolls that are...well, downright wacky. It keeps things interesting.

There is ready for use Savage Worlds setting made for Conan like rpg its called Beasts and Barbarians.

Kurt the best system for Conan in my experience is Barbarians of Lemuria. I can't recommend it enough.

I can't seem to find a copy of Savage Worlds at my local book stores, is it still in print? I really want to get my GM to run a game of Savage Worlds but they never seem to be in stock. Any Suggestions?

@beatboxpeej I just looked at the studio2publishing store, they have the Savage Worlds Deluxe book in stock... it is the main store for Pinnacle.
