  • Capitalism is shit

  • i remember shoppin there as a kid :/

  • I remember this place....Northside...near Clairmont.

  • "Tombs of Capitalism" is a rather accurate description.

  • Too bad that this mall went down, as it has great architectural design. They should save it, fix it up again. Make a residential mall, like condos.

  • Yep..looks like shitboro to me.

  • aman to that brother i miss that mall

  • i like these malls that are abandoned, yet the floor still shines. it's funny.

  • I Would So Skate in There!

  • ive droven by the abandoned hospital in banner elk

  • Poor thing, now a dumb walmart is there, you know ''the world cant stop turing with out wal-mart'' NOT.

  • agree.

  • Wow. I don't think I've been there in over 20 years but very early memories came flooding back.

  • That is now Wal Mart

  • @RandyRKOrton22 fucking wal mart

    may someone please nuke arkensas?

  • place is huge and so cool

  • I like the end of the video where someone had spray painted "Tombs of Capitalism" With the closing of this mall and many more across the country, all the factories closing down and jobs lost, and on top of that, the real estate meltdown along with Wall Street, capitalism might not be the bright shining star some people would have you believe.

  • > I like the end of the video where someone had spray painted

If you think Capitalism is bad, try communism or fascism.

  • @fuzzywzhe

Communism has never been attempted and Fascism is basically capitalism at it's worse.

  • @zonilo1 Fascism is when corporations run the nation. You know you're entering fascism when corporations write laws, when certain favored private corporations receive taxpayer subsidies, when corporations determine who can get elected and who cannot, when corporations are given equal if not superior rights to individuals.

Communism has been tried, multiple times. You can see there are no surviving communes.

  • @dockf

Capitalism is a system that only benefits a wealthy few who control the means of production not the working class people since their (or we) are just designed to be the wealthy's exploited slaves. The closing of Malls and factories across the U.S. shows that capitalism has moved (or evolved) on to corporatism today.

  • It seems like there are always people there checking the place out. I would be there for hours

  • i wish i could have been there :) this mall looks amazing

  • you still ARE a kid.

  • go to Hollister and see if there is any clothes

  • I would check every store. It's unlikely that anybody left anything behind, but if there are enough stores, & if the stores themselves are big enough individually, you are bound to find something!

  • funny you mention that, cause of bunch of my friends went into an abandoned mall in ohio and found 38$ bucks still in the register and some shoes at the foot locker.

  • ...lucky bastard! LOL, that's awesome!

I'm not trying to say that you guys should commit grand theft, but did you's look for copper, brass, etc.?

  • You know something thats always been on my mind, i notice about 100 vids on youtube about either abandoned or dead malls, and i always think "damn there must be good copper or brass in those places, which is worth ALOT in California and elsewhere.

  • A place near me, which was an abandoned mental hospital called Byberry, was a haven for years for ppl draining the place of everything from the stories that I heard. Even before they closed the place down in 1990; they started knocking bldgs down & boarding them up in the 50s & by the 70s the bldgs that had survived had homeless ppl living in them & had ppl breaking in to steal anything that they could really. Even tho 2 or 3 bldgs over it was still a functioning mental hospital!

    Messed up!!

  • There are many abandoned mental hosps shown here on You Tube. Some are still standing and some are half bone or being torn down.

  • Go to Y T and hit Taunton State Hosp in Taunton,MA.The main pretty part burned but its a huge place and many buildings still open.

  • I love Greensboro

  • theres a few scene kids but goths are lame, but if you want a friend, i can be your friend. im from greensboro btw.

  • i always wanted to go in there, never got the chance though.

actually idk maybe i went there when i was little, but not sure...

  • Wow! I have been there 100 times years ago..

    what a shame!

  • Holy cow, I was taken to this mall a few times as a very small child. Seeing this brought out a bunch of memories and images that I didn't know were in my head.

  • Who remembers the ice skateing here?

  • I worked at two store in that mall, Belks and Ivey's. I miss those times in GSO.

  • i didnt kno the circle mall was still up in 06. i thought they knocked it down for wal-mart in 2000

  • I went to Northeast HS and back in my day this mall was the place to be. Did lots of shopping and meeting buddies there. Went to lots of movies there too. It's weird to see this. I'd like to see more!

  • Dis wat Eastland Mall in Charlotte gone look like next year

  • well it was opened right next to a sewage treatment plant and that area of town turned into a ghetto. It used to have an ice skating rink and all that. crazy!

  • That just adds meaning to the old saying, "Only the Good Die Young". *sigh*

  • If I had my own mall, I would pretend I was in a dawn of the dead remake and shoot anything that moved slowly with unblinking eyes...

  • My goodness, my Dad owned a barbecue restaurant in close vicinity to the mall and I grew up in Greensboro. Haven't been there in years, so this is amazing. Is the entire Rankin community a ghost town?

  • my pops used to work there in Wards

  • I grew up in that mall. I loved it there...thank you for saving a piece of its history on here.

  • four seasons is a lot better mall. plus that area around cone is going down hill.

  • that area around cone already is down hill. idk how much farther it can go. also, 4 seasons sucks. its got good stores and wutnot, but there have been 2 shootings in Gap kids' and like 5 in the parking lot

  • Wal-Marts are takeing over everything lol

  • I went to that mall like 15 years ago...wow I was like 3 or 4.

  • The building may be gone, but you've saved a piece forever on YouTube.

  • This mall was demolished about a year and a half ago...a walmart supercenter and several big box stores now sit in it's place, though there is at least one outbuilding still standing.

  • i recorded my first demo in 1993 in that mall in a store, will remember always when i'm on vh1

  • more memories

  • i grew up there/started rhymin'there and didn't know da mall fell off like dat damnnnnnnnnnnn

  • back when i was a teenager that was one of the places to hang out. four seasons mall was just to big.easier to hook up with friends at smaller carolina circle mall. the mall would close at 9 o'clock, then we would go to mc'donald's across street. plus there was an a.b.c store next to mc'donald's, all conveniently located in my old nieghborhood.

  • i lived on 19 th st back in the day, about a mile from the mall.these are the people i knew. lisa and joy spraggs, david mcfayden, kelly varner, mark sizemore, wendy hendrix, brian bennet. ice rink, camelot music,5/7/9 ,game room, picadily, the theater, east west gifts, the coin fountain, that elevator in belk, orange juelius, that payphone section, radio shack pearson music...i miss dem days...KEVIN

  • Yeah, for some odd reason that mall was a whole lot funner than 4 seasons even though it was so small. Why was that?

  • everybody in nieghborhood went to hang out at that place.

  • I really enjoy watching this video and seeing the inside. Considering I'm in Texas and the mall is no longer there, this is the closest I'll come to being "inside." I'm completely fascinated with old buildings and I love to use my imagination to picture it when it was in use - sort of like a ghost image over what I'm seeing. I wish there were more (and longer) clips like this.

  • that is so sad, that mall was a part of my childhood

  • Thats wild that mall was down the street from my house when I first moved to Greensboro, NC...its been torn down and a Walmart is going up now. It use to have an ice skating rink in it, a really nice mall in its day, it is sad...

  • I know right....now I go to four seasons which is more of a shopping center than a mall, just one fountain,no insipped but naustalgic muzac I really miss the circle

  • I agree. Four Seasons just doesn't have the charm and feel that Carolina Circle did. Four Seasons never had an ice rink. Four Seasons never had a carousel.

  • yeah four seasons has these stupid little kiddie rides now

  • Yes it was really nice when the skating rink was there. I don't go to Four Seasons Mall at all.

  • I used to shop there and they had a good arcade when I was a kid. Sweet Memories.

  • i am not from greensboro we use to do shows there,i remember yall had a race car in the parking lot of carolina circle mall.i also rememeber M.C sqare on florida street you might be too young to understand

  • can u just go in it?

  • ummm where is this? lol message me if you know!

  • Like I said, love this mall. Big round of applause for Carolina Circle! :)
