  • In my opinion the hardest OCD in the game, it makes me mad how goos fly randomly and they get smashed

  • This level can suck my mother fucking DICK! So stupid...it's too hard to even tell the difference between the medium and big balls and how they're going to fly...tried it about 50 fucking times now...

  • This is the LAST level I need to OCD in the ENTIRE GAME!!!!!! ITS TOO DANG HARD!

  • Comment removed

  • Got to the end of this level, all goo intact. Forgot to save the girder-goo at the start.

    Haven't got OCD since -.-

  • im pretty sure the speed of the different balls its not random. the variation comes from the size of the ball ur throwing. (bigger ones will go slower, etc..)

  • this level is fucking annoying! wrrrrrr

  • I hate this fucking level so much...

  • Hardest ocd in the game.. I need this and the 1 after to a full game OCD :(

  • this stage in a pain in the ass but it's far from the hardest one. it's easy, it just takes a lot of tries before the game lets you complete it without screwing you over.

it seems like it has to be a programming glitch, the way using the same angle from the same position somehow results in a shot that goes into the gears about 1/6 of the time.

I hated it so much while I was trying to get the OCD, but eventually you get lucky and all your shots work. Just takes time.

  • Dude, it is the hardest one :)

    Everyone thinks that.

"but eventually you get lucky and all your shots work. Just takes time." - YEAH, exactly. Lots of time.

And it's not a programming glitch, they made the game that way.

  • ah well it depends on what you mean by hardest. what I was trying to say is that this is definitely not the most challenging one... there's no challenge to it once you find out the spot you're supposed to aim for.

I find it hard to believe that the makers of such a creative and well-designed game intended for those weird misfires to happen randomly... nowhere else in the game is random luck a factor. And none of the other ball-launching stages have misfires.

    Anything's possible though.

  • It can't be a mistake to make them fire "not where you aim"

.. It's a script, and they can't make a script saying they should fire that uneven by accident. So of cause, it's supposed to be like that.

Sorry for my English, but I hope you get my point -_-'

  • @MKiller5 there is a lot of them much harder than this for me, i did this one with no problem but there are other ones i simply can't do.btw u can get two more if you save the two girders there is still room to throw them up and another one if you only use two girders in the last seccion(i did it it's possible).

  • I fucking hate this goddamn level.

I have flags in every stage so far except that one in chapter 3 where you have to build the exploding balls really fast before the "wick" gets to the structure.

But THIS crappy stage is what made me quit for the last month.

You'd think if you grabb each ball from the same damn spot and aim the cursor on the same spot (middle left side of right cog) that each friggan retarded crappy stupid retarded piece of crappy crap ball would fly straight... yeah...

  • The one in chapter 3 you're talking about is not that hard.

I saw some movie here on youtube on how to do it.. Go search for it. It looked pretty hard what he did , but I did it first try oO

Guess I was just lucky :>

But this one is definitely the hardest lvl in the game. The other ones are really easy :D

  • I know, I sounded gay on my last comment.

  • well u admitted... we shouldnt be mad now ^^

  • I find the storyline of this game to be quite sad.

  • why the girder? getting between the two grinders is equally "easy" with or without the girder?

anyway, i find it really annoying on PC, that the don't always fly correctly in the direction you point. sometimes they fly slightly left or right of the pointer. .. f''king annoying!

  • why build a grider on the first one?

    thats just lame :x

  • Finally got OCD and even OCD+1 in just 1 try after reading posts from MZauleck and bardzodziwny.

    THX ALOT!

Each launch creates wobles, the wind does NOT change randomly (also my first, third, seventh and eleventh thought)

  • I just took a few tried on this one again...lame lame lame lame. It doesn't matter if the platform is moving or whatever. The balls change speed randomly. That's what makes this level and the jumping goo balls idea a bust. The wind is fine but the way they randomly change speed is bullshit. This will be the last level I OCD if I bother.

  • you truly suck.

  • I experimented some more with this one and realized my mistake was firing the goo from the points. If you fire the goo from same spot of the line the shot is consistent even regardless of the wind which doesn't change speed at all.

Anyway, once I had the technique down I OCDed this level easily. It's still a lame level however.

  • I really like the game but I skipped over doing OCD on this one just because it was mindless rep and luck. This level flatly sucks. I feel like I'm playing some lame Flash game when I play it.

  • Also wind affects speed a lot in this level.

  • The reason for the speeds is that arrow you see is not just an arrow, it's a mathematical vector. This means the longer it is the faster the ball will fly. It has a limit though, so just be sure to pull it fully (so the cursor is out further than the arrow) and it will always fly at the same speed.

  • awful level...

great vid. You did it ;)

  • the reason why the goo balls "randomly" fly slower or faster:

as Bru7aLis pointed out, the wobble of the structures makes for different speeds, or even angles.

The most secure (and probably slowest) way to passing the first barrier is to only have 1 or 2 goo on the structure, waiting each time for the wobble to stop.

    Otherwise its gambling :)

  • As for the OCD +1 - managed it in 1 try. Well 2 to be exact. The first being aim testing.

Do not build the extension. Shoot the balls from approximately the middle of the rightmost joint of the second box. Aim just a little above the center of the grinder on the right (1/3-1/4th of the grinder's diameter off the center). With just one practice try you get the hang of it and voilla.

  • For the second (and hardest)box, the key is to launch the goo balls from the middle of the upper line of the home made structure (with the green cube). This is by far the easiest angle, and I achieved the OCD in 2 attempts.

  • cool guide, love the added bullets. good vid, short, to the point. well done

  • worst level in world of goo. in an interview, they said if the 4th. and final chapter was like the rest of the game, it would be predictable. that's respectable, but the "jumping goo balls" idea could've been better. too much aiming, not enough thinking.

  • OMG i hate this new digital chapter :(!!!

the normal colored ones looked so much better! :*(

  • i´ve began today and cleared chapter 2

    but i did´nt do my homework -.-

  • Dude this is very easy once you figure out the right angle...

Build the construction on the second part like you did on the video, but then wait for the goo ball to be in the middle of the bottom right stick. Then select it and aim between the 3rd and 4th box of the upper line stick... Doesn't fail and easy as pie

  • I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but after trying what you said it worked first try! Thanks for the comment!

  • I found this trick too, and it works great. Somehow that's the one secret spot that you can fire from without it screwing up.

  • Well...I think I have found two more reasons why the goo balls fly in an awkward way:

1.When you transfer all the goo balls at the structure it shakes more, I think.

2.I think the length of the flight depends on the size of the goo balls.

Even considering all these reasons I still find it way more difficult than most WOG levels. Hate the fact there are no time bugs.

  • I thought of those too, but those aren't the reason. I've had "blooper" shots with the last ball, no structure movement at all.

I've also had them with both sizes of goo, it's totally inconsistent.

I'm almost positive it's just a programming error... if you pick up the ball or put the cursor at a certain spot, somehow it screws up the game's calculation of how fast the ball should fly

  • Is there any wind ?

And if yes - does its speed change?

  • Yes, there is wind, look at the background ;)

The wind is the cause why the goo balls fly in a skyward angel (at the two wheels) and "around the corner" (far right). I'm not sure if the wind changes speed, maybe...

  • @tisix

There is green fog/dust and its change speed of bits/goos. You can see it on video.

  • well done .. man i hate this level so much.. im tryin it for a long time now without building any extension at the beginning.

is there a chance that the flyin speed of the balls has something to do with the speed of the things in the background ?

  • awesome job!
