  • lol i love how people call themselves babylonian and attribute all these things to babylon... im pretty sure ancient egypt is an older civilization than babylon, and they've had hyroglyphics before babylon even existed. also, the renaisance started in Florence, Italy, babylon no longer existed by that time. with that being said, Ancient Babylon is an amazing, truly legendary civilization as is their city. However, modern day iraqis are hardly babylonians, it wud kinda take away from the romance

  • @badmanpersian

Here is a list of reasons of reasonings to make you, the pre-alpha version of the arab, see why you are at fault for spewing such nonesense. First off lets start with what Babylon did for the world as a whole until today. Civilization, quite literally an evolutionary step in itself. We made the world think of life, differently. Written Language, the very language that we created spread across the ancient eastern world as THE ONLY LANGUAGE.

  • @badmanpersian

You're petty people used our form of writing and spoke the words we told you to. Now on to Mathamatics, the Babylonians brought to the world the advanced mathamatics of Algebra, alongside who knows how many more mathematics that came before and after. Religion, quite possibly the truly first orginized religion, the Gods that the Babylonians created for their people were the Gods that your people worshipped, alongside every other eastern nation of the ancient era.

  • @badmanpersian

Arcitechtural style, the Babylonians brought to the world the standard. Nothing is more distasteful than seeing an exact replica of the beatiful art on the Ishtar Gates inside a Persian palace. I can't really express to what extent of which was copied, though I expect you will eventually learn as you do a bit of research just how ridiculous the situation was.It is almost as if your people didn't have their own culture, but rather borrowed everything, again just like the arabs.

  • @badmanpersian

In fact your Persian people resorted to hiring Greek architects to introduce new style to your cities. The vast amount of sciences, art and medicines that we have lost or have had dileberatly hidden from the worlds eyes (either by the Babylonians or by foriegn powers) would shatter what we think we know of the world, but unfortunately for the Babylonians, being the most advanced also means being the most hated. Jelousy and hate is a known trait of the arabs, what's your excuse?

  • @badmanpersian

The proof of intellectual and military superiority is all there, I could go on for ages. In fact if you were to catch up on your history, the only reason Babylon supposedly was taken is due to the fact that the last King, who assisnated his way to the throneroom, more than likely for this very reason, just left the entire city ungaurded for the most part as he took the main force on a wild goose chase in the desert while the Persians had 8 months to figure out how to enter the

  • @badmanpersian

greatest fortified city in all the ancient world. It has been recorded that the archers on the walls laughed at the army as they had seen similar attempts by the arabs. All historians agree that if the two forces would have met the Persian empire would have never existed. After those 8 months, having finally taken the city, the Persian king gave the traitor king of Babylon a city in his name and honor. There is nothing but shady workings in this history of yours, and to me it

  • @badmanpersian

it looks like nothing but cowardice. So before coming in here and spewing such nonesense, take a look in the mirror and realize you are nothing but an imitation that made too much noise. Furthermore, fuck Iraq. The Babylonian legacy shall never be hindered by that muslim cesspool, so do not ever mix the two. If by chance one fate must exist, then I hope the western arabs (the coalition) erase the eastern arab infestation once and for all, starting with Iran.

  • GO BABYLON / ASSYRIA

  • why don´t they do a game to do ur city??

  • Where is the music from?

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the song after the "the mighty self"?

  • actually the first song is from rome total realism and is called "battlefield music" its the only song in the video that i know, unfortunately.

  • Have you played Prince of Persia: Two Thrones?

How did you find the portrayal of Babylon in the game? WOuld you have preferred more places like the temple of Ishtar, ect?

  • Thank you Alaani for this video, I've been into the ancient city of Babylon in Iraq in year 2000 and I recorded it in a video VCR though, not in a CD. Thank you very much... this is an Iraqi pride and a world pride as well.

  • I must admit, I don't know much about Babylon. I simply have a fascination with ancient cities, and in my current research - Babylon seemed fantastic and much more progressive. This model is breathtaking.

  • God bless Iraq

  • god bless iraq and the glrious history

  • as amazing as the Assyrians, Babylonians, Sumerians, Akkadians, etc....were, we are done. Present day people will take the rest of whats left and thats that. We dont help eachother, why should anyone else help.

  • proud to be babylonian

    Long Live Babylon

  • From here started the humanity, sciences came from here, from here the first of the world learned trades, from here the people learn the writing, from here the first who learned the world the figures and numbers, from here turning people into civility and scientific achievements, construction, reconstruction and renaissance in the history of the globe, From here from the great IRAQ .

  • @wendeyes

you don't have the right to say that when everyone there lives in sandhouses, where there are about 500 cmputers max and where whomen are still worth less than man. BTW killing people with stones isn't civilised...

  • @foxionios But he/she is right though. It was a great civilisation and everything and they did have a great history, a history to be jelaous of even... xD But some countries, cties, etc. just aren't what they used to be anymore. It happens. :/ Doesn't mean that they won't 'catch up' eventually... o.-

  • @foxionios indeed, killing them with the latest assault rifles, carpet bombs, hellfire missles and computerized drones is much more civilized :D

  • babylon is best so do iraq :-D. iraq is nr. 1 in the world. iraq created the first wheal and the first letter etc

  • why is there desert around babylon? Mesopotamia was extremely fertile thanks to the rivers

  • "I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess.... On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abraham, saying: "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great River, the river Euphrates' " (Gn 15: 7, 18).

  • NO...they are the same suryoy n assyrain are the same

if there not then what really are they ??

  • ..look this provs that you assyrians are not from Turabdin and that we have nothing in common, we are suryoyo= syrian,syriac...so stop manuplating suryoy and syriac from calling them for assyrians, becuase we are not assyrians.

  • sorry mate, most historians don't agree with you... in fact, most historians say that the suryoyo are an ancient branch of the Assyrians.

    it explains the language similarities.

  • these 1500 artifacts that wae stolin r all in Iran,Lebanon,Syria, and so on. and the rest of them are geting destroyed from the war. so lots of artifact wea taking to america and will be returned to iraq when the war is over.

  • not a soldier but Historian. i just finished my diploma. and i was asked to go to iraq and read same of the tables and camper them to what we've got about athens and rome and Nineveh. since um assyrian i can read both languages Akkadian and Neo-Aramaic. 1500 artifacts was stolen from iraqi museum.

  • USA is ruled by the bloodlines who want take revenge for the ancient uprising by their "sheep". they see humans since ancient times as genetically modified sheep and is currently destroying babel, stealing treasures, spraying grafitti on ruins and digging trenches in them and runs over them with tanks. the old writings tell that they tried to exterminate the humans after the ancient uprising. there was two bloodlines outside of the 13 that supported the "humans" im one on those two bloodlines

  • PLZZZZZZZZZZZ people get out travel to other countries and see for self and study about history that was given to us by ancient people not by interenet.

  • There was in fact a triple line of walls but that's all up to interpretation as to where they were located. the video probably got it right, mostly. Though I'd assume they would be present at the side of the Ishtar gate. Also, the land wasn't such a dry desert around the city. If it was, such a big population could not survive. We should not use modern day geological traits to portray the past.

  • that is lie. babylon wasnt that big becouse Saddam Hussein rebuild babylon and we've seen it. its not that big. babylon it is the same size as ancient nineveh ancient Athens. and much smaller then ancient Rome.

  • Saddam Hussein did not rebuild Babylon. He rebuilt a very small portion of the walls and attempted to rebuild Nebuchadrezzar II's palace. Which he failed to, and only damaged it. The actual city size was much bigger than what you see rebuilt. Also, Babylon was much larger at it's height than Nineveh and ancient Athens, with a population of 200,000+ by the 6th or 5th century BCE. -continued-

  • Ancient Athens only surpassing that number by the 1st century BCE or in CE (AD) times. And Nineveh having never past that number with only a population of about 120,000 by the 7th century BCE. As for Rome however, although at its height the population neared 5 million, it only surpassed Babylon's highest population by the 3rd century BCE.

  • I just watched the video again and noticed that Ancient Babylon was actually grander than this video portrays. Not blaming you alanni, you did a superb job. Though things were left out. For example, the house of a regular free citizen living within the city's walls would have been a 2 (if we are to believe Herodotus, 4) story house plastered white that would be fairly good sized even compared to modern homes. -continued-

  • dude dont read whats is given to in internet. american camp its next to babylon we been there.we get our informtion from the table that was gevin to us by iraqi from ancient babylonian. tables are all in USA for history protection.

  • You can't go to the location of ancient Babylon today, stand on a hill and deduct the size and population of the city that stood there over 2 millennia ago. Most of it is un-excavated/buried. Also, historians and the archaeologists who actually did excavate the area will attest to the size that is claimed.

Now I don't know what you mean when you say "table that was gevin to us by iraqi from ancient babylonian." Do you mean tablets? (Babylonians wrote on clay tablets) -continued-

  • Also, who are "us"? Were you a soldier stationed at Babylon? From what I can understand from your message, you are saying that while stationed there the Iraqis gave you ancient Babylonian tablets describing the size of the city at around the 6th-3rd centuries BCE proving that the city was much smaller than I claim but then you say that these tablets are actually in the USA? Please, take time to write your messages, no one is rushing you and it saves me the trouble of having to decrypt your post.

  • Now let's pretend you actually did see these ancient documents while stationed in Iraq that were in the USA by an anonymous Iraqi, can you enlighten me as to what was written on them? As of right now, I'd rather take the word of notable Archaeologists/Historians from the last 2 centuries, and ones from ancient times over that of a US soldier who says "I saw the ruins, it wasn't that big." over the internet.

  • they say iraq is arabic because most people speak arabic and the most are moslems, but the fact the are not arab thats why their arabic is not formal

  • do you know that the Babylonians,Canaanites & Phoenicians are arabic ? indeed, 'cuz their cultures,& words,& clothes are the same,& some people want to separate them,& that's wrong.. :)

  • Iraqis are not Babylonians. Iraqis are arabs which settled and occupied the area with the islamic conquest

  • and this is why i love iraq my country

  • Vue 6?

  • Cinema 4D

  • Amazing recreation of Babylon! You've spent a great deal of time & patience and it turned out great! :)
