hey, great tune really puts a different spin on a fantastic song, if your looking for suggestions for other oasis covers, maybe gas panic?? that would sound awesome with looping piano with your softer lyrics?? obviuosly the live arrangment would be better, just a thought, keep up the good work, you is a very talented boy

I wanted to retain the feeling of originality with the vocals. I thought a Liam-esque vocal over the piano part I'd come up with wouldn't be right. That said, your "churchy" comment is well said. I probably should've sung with more "edge" ... but this was my first YouTube recording!

as a fan of oasis, it's a pity that oasis aren't good pianists who could use this kind of mccartney-white-album-jazz arrangement to give their songs a different slant now and then.

this is a great cover... pretty adventurous playing an oasis song on piano! did you do this arrangement yourself?

The arrangement came out of 4 hours improvising with the chords, lyrics and (most of) the melody line - all provided by Oasis before the track had been released (you know about the competition right?). I hadn't heard ANYONE do the track at the time - which definitely made it easier to try it on piano. I'd play it better if I spent a few days practising...

Really appreciate the feedback. Thanks. I'm thinking of doing piano versions of other songs. Suggestions welcome! (and maybe heeded?)

Re: playing the piano. Find a friend with an old keyboard they don't want and beg or borrow it. Then learn to play like you probably learnt guitar - starting with one-note riffs. The great thing about having a keyboard is being able to record multiple parts in the memory so you can produce things way beyond what you can play. Above all, have fun. For me that meant teaching myself as I didn't enjoy learning from music as is typical...

Hmmm. I was thinking bluesy for one or two of the other available tracks, but I'll give it a try for this one - not promising to post the result, though.

I haven't heard ANY of the Oasis version yet and the melody clip they provide isn't complete in a few small places so I've had to make a few bits up to fit the chords here and there. Good of you to be understanding. Still, I know it really needs more practice - I just wanted to do something a little different...

(a) I probably can't

(b) It didn't seem right to do the vocal Oasis-like when the piano part I've done is so un-Oasis
