Nokia's booklet has Intel architecture.. so why does it get stuck with RAM-hungry and CPU-hungry windows 7 instead of...Meego? It would make sense to put your own OS on your own computer...right?
@BrEnNo1023 Well how MeeGo is Nokia's os? O_o Nokia doesn't own any o.s.. not even Symbian... Also Samsung and Sony Ericsson use Symbian. Btw windows 7 is in the Nokia booklet because people like Windows 7 and every new pc use win7.. Almost every pc program works with windows. Of course it's possible to install winXP or any kind of Linux for any pc. Even for a mac but for macs it's not so simple I guess.
So sad, just like looking at a dying dinosaur. They screwed with the N800 then the N900 and now with Intel , promising "next generation" stuff!!???!.
Over guys, Android is the replacement. It is years ahead with features and snappy performance and a large growing developer community. You cannot match that ever.
@fteoOpty64 dude ur knowledge<a kids knowledge i agree dat android is gr8 but dats not da only os which is gr8 go get a life watch out 4 meego i bet it will be better than android
Seems to me that I made a mistake in purchasing the N900. Nokia obviously has other priorities, he should have just said N900 will be abandoned to the community. Why will Nokia bother to bring real navigation to meamo5 when they are too busy working on meamo6 and meego? It wouldn't be so bad if meamo6 is guaranteed for N900, why even make another meamo when they are moving to "meego" I believe real navigation will be available when meamo6 is announced not to run on N900 as a consolation price.
I really cannot see where you get this from. The statements in the talk are clearly that MeeGo applications will be portable to Maemo5+Qt, and also that "I'm pretty sure there will be a port of MeeGo running on N900". The only statement I hear that may give you your impression is that it is still undecided if Nokia will create a commercial supported "official" MeeGo image for the N900. That is clearly not a "No", it is a "Maybe" with a hint of "Probably".
@tomstarts Open the web browser and type Ctrl + Shift + O (you have to press them together at the same time) to enable portrait mode, this will not work if you don't have the updated software though.
I dont need Meego I am very happy with Maemo and community support on maemo.org

If someone knows can please answer me.
Will Maemo continue to exist as platform or Nokia would push only MeeGo on all smart phones ? Is Maemo dead ?
I LOVE what Nokia is doing with Maemo and MeeGo.
Except migration from deb`s to rpm... but that is all over now.

Ari's a bit of a peculiar dude, in my opinion :D
Something a bit quirky about him, but nothing negative.
Can't wait for the next N900 update.
