It is a belt drive. A wide rubber band is the belt, with a glass bead pully on the upper axle.
A small electric motor is the driving axle.

Cool. I would of like to see the guts of it to see how you are building the charge. I am guessing it is not belt driven?

I used an alligator clip to make the connection to the coke can, and tape to connect the wire to the beer can. It does not require a perfect connection to the beer can on the generator, the static charge will leak across small gaps, no problem.
Can you please tell me how did you connect the bob to the other two cans ? I mean I dont understand how to connect the wire to the Cans
