The way he talks about being atheist, he wasn't. He didn't actually look at science or the claims of his friends he just took them for their word, submitting to authority. And that is all he does with god, believing what other people tell him. Wow.. there is a huge debate about this.. just realized today.. I began by looking it up in dictionaries, they all pretty much gave two definitions:

-belief there is no god

-no belief in god

I stated that atheism was the first definition, and you the second one (and by the way the origin of this word is not "a-theism" from engilsh, its "atheos" from greek which has a loos meaning but more or less means godless (also used to describe people that believed in a non accepted religion)

I will admit that both definitions are technically correct....

However, i think the second definition (your definition) was just adopted because of general use... Winston Churchill among other brilliant representatives of "atheism" have stated that they are really agnostic, but for practical reasons they call themselves atheists.

Atheism = no god= unprovable/untestable statement = not 100% scientific => atheist like to think it is 100% scientific => they used alternative meaning.

To expound on your definitions,Agnostic simply means one doesn't feel they posses enough knowledge to decide wether or not God exists. Basically on the fence. However, a Deist believes that God is here just isnt present in our lives because he doesnt care about us.

I'm personally a Christian who believes if you want to see God, see Jesus in the Bible, see what he stood for and live that way, have a personal relationship with him. Worship to God doesnt make slaves us, we fulfill our purpose

Anyway.. i do agree with him in what he says about the "atheist faith". Unfortunately at this point in time it is impossible to call yourself atheist without depending on blind faith. At this point in time the most accurate place to be is to be an agnostic.

Methinks you have the wrong definition of atheist. Commonly misconstrued by non-atheists. An atheist is NOT someone who claims they know there is no god. You can't prove a negative, so that's an untenable position. Look at the word: A = without; theism = belief in god. Therefore the atheist lacks a belief in god, or abstains from belief. Call this agnosticism if you want, but I prefer atheist. Get it now? No blind faith required.

Well.. I understand your confusion between atheism and agnosticism. I understand that anybody can be an atheist, i know that if one does not believe on a god or any metaphysical existence then you are atheist, in fact we are all born atheist. Agnosticism in the other hand accepts the POSSIBILITY of a god, and my comment was that in order to neglect the possibility of a god you need to have a blind faith because at this point in time it cannot be proofed in a naturalistic way that there is no god

Sorry, sir, but YOU are confused. Atheists admit to the possibility, that's what you do when you abstain from a position. Read again what I was telling you. Look around for other videos by atheists on this question. Atheism is a position of a lack of belief, it's not a belief either for or against. Again, it is simply, "without theism." Agnosticism is about knowing or degrees of knowing. Calling atheism a belief is like calling bald a hair color.
