Eventually everyone will get bored with the constant inflation of console's power, like I am. The NES had such creative game design and I think it was partially due to the restricted palette of those systems. Games today are so addicted to "realism" and power - graphic violence, first person scenarios, elaborate button combinations, ammunition pickups, etc. It has become exhausting and ROUTINE. It's so awesome that people are revisiting this old system!!!
In my opinion older consoles shouldnt even be discontinued...they should be used for experimentation of new genres that can later evolve into later consoles...
Eg, game boy advance had a lot of potential super nes has potential,nes has potential,saturn has potential,and so on and so on..and of course Neo geo--good old 2d gaming at its highest in regards to graphics...and last but not least the genesis is evidence of that potential even though this game technically was released in 96 in china..
Cool that people are still making cartridges for old consoles! I'm not enough of an RPG fanatic to want this, but it's still pretty freakin' cool, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the compliment. I love my CDX but it isnt that expensive. You can get one on ebay for less than 100 US probably.
Also note that the first runs of Beggar Prince (the ones with the older cover like mine) dont save on CDX or if youre using the game through a 32x. The more recent versions of BP have been debugged and you can save on any sega console compatible with genesis games.
BTW Wukong looks great. I will definitely buy it when I get some money!
This looks really cool. I just bought another Genesis, and the prospect of a new game existing for it makes me absolutely giddy! I might end up buying this at some point seeing as the Genesis was a lot shyer of good RPGs than the SNES.
This fucking blows that I can't buy a copy of this game ANYWHERE!!! I mean there was one on ebay for 300 dollars one time :(

I didn't notice at first, but it's a shame the OP is using a CDX, as the game wont save with one. I had to keep a spare Genny 1 to play it.
