  • after re discovering my love for the guitar [ after a 25yr. hiatus] listening to mr. pearson inspires me to play ,not to copy him but like Clapton & Beck did when i was young to play better . thanks Jack !!

  • makes it sing like delaney and bonnie

  • OHH , VERY WELL ! You are an excellent guitarist!

  • just goes to show ya - it ain't the ax, it's the man! the industry would like us to think we all need to go mortgage our homes to buy expensive gear or we'll never get "the tone," and here pearson is playing a brand new stock lp, not even a vos custom job, through what looks to be an epiphone amp and the dude's absolutely BURNIN'! note: let's all go spend all that gear money on lessons and just get down on our knees and pray we'll be as good as this before we die. peace

  • awesome playing

  • Dang. Brand new guitar, no special set up, just take it and play it like you've owned it for 40 years! Nothin' to it, right? In the right hands, yep.

  • saw him with abb once and was blown away by his fantastic soulfulness and unique creativity. he is a treasure!

  • looks so easy but believe me its fucking hard!

  • @joe6strings looks like an epiphone tube amp

  • How could anyone give this a THUMBS DOWN?

  • I know you guys will have a laff but this moved me to tears..........

  • @visual33

No laff. I'm pretty good with words. No way in Hell I can describe this.

  • Thanks for posting these ! what a great player with a wonderfull touch. Its all in the hands as they say.

  • Proud to know Jack personally. He's a great guy as well as perhaps the best guitarist on the planet.

  • Man, I used to run sound for him in Nashville in a group he had I think called the "nationals". Anyway, he would bring in this little yamaha solid state amp with maybe an 8" or 10" speaker in it and make it sound like gold. He just has such a great touch. It was cool talking to him about why he stopped playing with the Allman Brothers Band. Dickey is too loud. :)

  • joe6, he's using whatever Gibson put on stage for him to use. Don't remember what it was (I was there for this), but with Jack Pearson it doesn't really matter. You could plug him into a toaster oven and it would have great tone. He says it's all in the hands, not always the amp. He had literally just been handed this guitar 10 minutes before he conducted this clinic.

  • does anyone knows what is the amp he's using??? great tone

  • Cool

  • Loved hearing this man growing up in the same small town. Rock on Bro.

  • @arvina07 Sure....I believe you...eh.. yeah...right.

  • @arvina07 Would love to see some of your playing too..................

  • why hasn't anybody told me about this guy before? thought I knew all the cool guys...

  • Which amp? pedals?

Jack's amazing, and this is one of the best tones I've ever heard.

  • @PaulDavidMusic The amp is what Gibson had there for him to use. It looks like an Epiphone from the video. He uses a Tubescreamer at times when he needs a boost. That' it....the rest is an "illusion"!

  • Freakin' Wow!

  • Good slide is so sanctified!

    Just beautiful Jack!!!

  • awesome guitarist

  • It is no more a guitar...it is a crying soul

  • Great touch, fine playing, nuance.

  • what impresses me the most is how he effortlessly moves from the slide to finger picking without any string noise and dampens the slide very well to get a clean sweat tone... very few people can do that with a slide.

  • Reminds me of my grandmother's wood stove in the mountains...just beautiful!

  • Magic.

  • Just watched the whole thing. Thank you God almighty for putting people like Jack Pearson in our midst. What a marvelous talent.

  • @1Doz Agreed! And please God make us like him one day!

  • best slide player since duane allman in my book. think he's a bit better than derek trucks, too. not saying he's bad, but lets see him play something so subtle and sweet.

  • True that Jack is pretty much perfect when it comes to the subtleties but I don't think you can top Trucks' ability to peak in a solo, to hit that note that just obliterates the rest of the world. He's come a long way since age 9 and that's what he does best.

  • he's gotta be the best slide player ever... i've never heard someone play slide guitar so nice..

  • man!

this a beautiful Les paul Faded Tobacco right there.

    So versatile, beautiful jazz tone.

  • It's amazing...Les Pauls are known as hard rockin machines, yet you can get the most beautiful jazz tones out of them as well. They are the most versatile guitars out there in my opinion...I own 2!

  • Used to watch The Nationals every week in Murfreesboro (along with all the other guitarists). Probably the best blues guitarist I have ever personally seen. Was playin a G&L back then I think.

  • Yeah, and he plays slide in standard tuning which was always kind of amazing.

  • Jack is the best. I wish I was 1/10th as good.

  • i really like this because im not worried about hearing a full band sound, this is just captivating..

  • Jack is one of the best slide and a complete guitar player. He can make it in all styles,a great Douane Allman heritage.

    Long live his Music.

    Greetings from Belgrade SERBIA,

    Andreja

  • This is just wonderful playing from Jackie, Check out his playing on my good friend Miranda Louise new CD " Sure Cure for the Blues " , fantastic stuff , sorry I missed him at Murfreesboro when we were over in Nashville staying with wee Miranda.

Kindest Regards from Scotland to all the really great people of Tennessee, what a beautiful State it is

  • Chambered body sound beautifull as the old ones......and now i know that

  • keep coming back for more. i could listen to this stuff for hours. such control of the instrument!

  • be back in a few minutes...gonna throw my guitar in the river.

  • @8aPeach2 Aiming for that swampy tone hey :)

  • @8aPeach2 I already did.

  • @8aPeach2 lol 4real.

  • @8aPeach2 donate it to me if its a us fender or gibson ...else the river can have it ...

  • @8aPeach2 I feel ya.. I used to see this guy play in a tiny bar in Murfreesboro TN. About 5 min in I would realize I needed to go home and practice

  • Jack is the guitar player's player. He and his wife are so kind and nice everytime I see them they speak and make me feel appreciated as a fan.

  • this guys slide playing is as good as it gets... add that along with his picking shops and that adds up to one BMF!

  • Ya nice choice on buyin the gibson les paul standard guitar it is beatufil and has full tone.

  • this guys great. for some of you who dont know he played in the allman bros for a while...back when derek was still a baby and i think it was before warren came in the picture?

  • I wanna say he played with the allmans from '90-'91, but I'm not completly sure.

  • Correction, lol

it was between 1997-2000. warren left in /97 to play with Mule, and Jack played filler dates for him when he was on tour with mule in 2000-2001.

  • Nice slide style:)

  • Sweet, gentle touch. Looks effortless, but I know it's not!

  • what s this les paul a 58 or 59?

  • HOLY SCHNIKIES!!!! I watched all 5 parts and now im' going to burn my guitar!! Just kiddin' but dang this guy has it goin on;my new favorite player. thank you for the humbling yet very inspiring vids!!

  • wow, i watched all the parts. blew me away, made me want to give up playing, made me feel depressed, but at the same time, inspired me to learn some jazz, lovley stuff. total genuis!!!

  • wow, I'm glad I found this. I hear alot of clapton, warren hayens type stuff goin on. And sounds alittle like derek truck with the slide. He has a very good tone and is very clean.

  • he has some of the best "touch" i've ever heard on the instrument

  • jackie pearson , what a player !, he is featured guitarist on the superb Miranda Louise's new album out in April on Ripete Records " Sure Cure for the Blues " Cant wait to hear it ,

  • one of the best...

    ...ever.

  • simply... genius :)

  • I have a list of favorite guitarists...Rory Gallagher, Joe Walsh, Steve Morse...and now thanks to Youtube....Mister Jack Pearson. I saw that Allman Bros clip of Blue Sky from '99. As good a solo I've ever heard. thnks for the music, man...Keep it goin'

  • was he a good show?

  • great playing man ur awsome and the guitar.....wow!!!

  • Smooth like buttter, sweet like jam...

  • Pure class what a guitar was built for .

  • Breath taking...I could listen to that all day.

  • Geee, he's amazing. Five stars! :)
