  • Is that a guy being rescued at 3:11 the guy climbing out of the house onto the ladder????

  • @Howard892 I think so the radio traffic says som eone was on the house, then the OIC calls base stateing the individual is on the ground.

  • I hear the tires roaring down the road but what are they?

  • did the camera break?

  • NICE KNOCK DOWN Very fast and, Agressive boys great job!

  • not all states allow their public safety responders to use lights and/or sirens at all while in pov. missouri and kansas allow that to happen. i was told that 6 years ago you could not utilize lights/sirens in pov in new mexico at all. i hope they have changed the law by now. maine is still being anal on their pov responses and the utilization of emergency equipment.

  • Lot's of lights, sirens, cars, people, smoke and flames...... No water? !

  • Huge fire and this guy is running lights and sirens POV yet manages to still only do 5 over the limit. Step it up partner. If you aren't in a hurry you might as well respond without lights and sirens at all. If other motorists were not pulling over they probably would of passed you.

  • @gchsbus kansas you are only allowed 10 over the speed limit and that is only away from built up congested areas. school zone you better be doing the speed limit. you have to consider that states have different requirements for their responders in pov. speeding will not get to you the scene in a safe manner if you cause accidents or loose control of your vehicle. speed is determined for the road conditions, and congestibility and not because of the incident.

  • jeesh! what a fire! did good getting those people out but my dept would never get away without turnout gear on. I think i only saw one guy with gear on

  • another great video!what siren are you running?ive always loved it but never figured out what it is. my guess is an older pa300 but i could be wrong

  • @EngulfedSix I am with you thats siren is pa300

  • Wish we could run blue

  • what kind of vehical is that?

  • And it sounds like the camera broke when you turned it when you first arrived on scene.

  • At twenty seconds you can already tell that there is a fire...

  • @trucker908 you are correct as far as Missouri laws go at a red light we come to a complete stop make 100% sure traffic has stopped then proceed with caution through the intersection

  • @ylen13 That's a very selfish attitude.

  • @04smallmj Ye it is.

  • ylen13 you are a jackass. I'm a longtime full time firefighter. Unlike you, I know how important it is for personel to get to the scene as fast as possible. I get the hell out of the way when volunteers are trying to get to a scene. I'm sure the people with lives and peoperty at stake aren't really in the mood to sit there and wait around for help. It doesn't matter if you are paid or not. People are counting on you fort help. You are just a jackass if you slow them down!!! ASSHOLE

  • I'm from PA and we don't get to run shit except a bluelight if your lucky and you have to be a Chief to have a siren

  • @MMnyess Do you have to stop at red lights with blues and no siren?

  • @04smallmj always and even if we do have sirens we still have to stop even with the Engines, Rescues, Tankers, Utilities, Brush Trucks, exc. you get to go through them with the Engines and all but not your car you have to wait for green lights or you have to stop at stop signs and then go

  • @MMnyess See, I always thought that you don't have to wait for the green light to come at a redlight intersection. I always thought that you have to wait for traffic to clear the intersection, then you can go.

  • @MMnyess Aah, OK, thanks for the info :D

  • I wasn't there, but for the arrival of the assignment, and what seemed from the video like a lack of people and equipment and what was a real good working fire.......Those guys got after it!!!! Good shit!

  • damn that was long hall lol

  • @billdozer84 why?

  • I'd hate to be this guys mechanic...

  • wow you guys are lucky here in Illinois we can run red/blue lights no siren! its hard to move traffic sometimes!

  • @dab45de I would like to know where in IL a POC in a POV can runs Red & Blue???

  • @Ronin2180 I live in southern part of illionois, POC?, im just a ems first responder for my very small village, but am licensed to do ems first response anywhere in Illinois

. So if I hear a call in my county I try to get there.

  • @dab45de what part of southern illinois do you live in.i am in saline county

  • @Ronin2180 ok after reading other responses I now know what poc means.

  • @Ronin2180 Ok I was talking to my fire dept. cheif and volunteers are only suppose to run red lights...OOOPS! But I havent goten in any truble yet... so unitl I do im going to run red/blue. Plus I think we should be able to run red/blue with siren.

  • @dab45de So your chief says your not "suppose to" per SOG's I'm guessing and probably law enforcement.. and with that your still going to keep them hmmm. Makes me wonder what other SOG"s you guys might be breaking because your not "supposed to".

Sorry kind of made your self and dept like bad with that one.

  • @pcfd20 well you completely misunderstood me there I dont work for a dept. and dont plan on it...I am not a firefighter I am a EMS first responder all volunteer. I had asked my local fire dept. chief about what lights I was allowed to run within the state of Illinois "legally" he told me legally either only red or only blue, no sirens...I knew about the sirens, but not the lights. I have been running a red/blue mix of lights for 1 and a1/2 years without any trouble and plan on keep doing it.

    DZH

  • @dab45de im a paid per call fireman in illinois and i run blue/white mini phantom and wig wags.i think if you are the chief of the dept you can run a red only in your pov.

  • Hi! Im a first responder (ems) not fire, how does it work with a pov as a firefighter you have to have your fancy suit on etc, etc. right? so hows that work?

  • @dab45de ok never mind the end of this video answerd that for me! lol!

  • i though you were supposed to respond to station first like here in the UK

  • nice stop

  • no header, no header, turn the corner, whoa there it is

  • What're you running in? (whats your POV)

  • You guys are lucky us here in Australia have to respond under normal road conditions no lights no sirens no speeding it sucks

  • good knock down quick stuff loved it....hats off from a fireman in ohio.....its weird to see most of these comments about volunteers or allowed to run blue lights and no siren in ohio we have a choice to run or not but it has to be red and/or white...our laws state you can't have lights without siren...nice job though props

  • like the sound as the cam turns lol, crackleing.........snap!

  • Nice job on the rescue! Always easier when all then need is a ladder and not to be dragged!

  • you couldn't turn the radio on?!

  • Love tht it is so awesome

  • it dosent matter where you live or what department you are on. if you are the chief or deputy chief of your department then you should have a department issued vechicle at your home wich you can use to go code all the time if you want.

  • haha, heard someones locator going off at the end, someone forgot to shake haha

  • @Johnny64ism Privately Owned/Operated Vehicle

  • yall run blue lights?

  • 3:10-3:15 was that glass shattering in the background???

  • What kind of siren does he have? It sounds like a Unitrol 80k but I just want to make sure. Thanks

  • loved the sanp ov the camera :P

  • Excellent responsible driving. Very impressed.

  • Excellent responsible driving. Very impressed.

  • @Johnny64ism Personally Owned Vehicle

  • what dept. are you with? like what state and county? and do you have to be a chief or something to have your sirens or do all first responders have them?. because the dept im with you are only aloud to have one dash light and the chief is the one with the siren. lol.

  • @Firefighter0804 This video was taken by one of the WPFD Paid On Call firefighters in his POV. We are in Howell Co. in Missouri. In the state of MO, we are allowed to run lights and sirens.

  • @WestPlainsFD Depends on the city. You are allowed to run blue lights, but if you do, you have to run a 100 watt siren as well.

  • @SuperMp17 That would be correct if this was a story book, But in the Case of Firefighters, and EMT's it will refer to a personally operated vehicle, That is for example a volunteer firefighter, who goes to the incident, instead of to the station to get in a fire-truck then to the incident. in some locations the are allowed to have full lights and sirens, or only certain colour lights, or nothing.

  • @TravisDMeier im not talking about a story book. I ment from a police stand point most of the time it is point of vision i was unaware it was different for fire and ems. there is no need to get pissy about it

  • nice fire. Im a volunteer firefighter on New York's Long Island, we are only aloud to use blue lights and no siren.

  • Thanks now i andersand what pov stands for thanks alot hugs kristoffer in sweaden

  • Nice video, we need more POV response videos like this one.

  • @websterprince1997 wrong POV stands for personally owned vechile

  • @websterprince1997 Yes, but in this case it stands for Personally Owned Vehicle.

  • What light do you use? They reflect off everything. LOVE IT!

  • What light do you use? They reflect off everything. LOVE IT>

  • @23zach93 Um, not where we are! It's "structure fire" not "residential fire".

  • 3:10 DAMMIT!

  • o ok my uncle uses a pa 300 in his pov here in jersey

  • pa300?

  • @joemagliari LOL yes it is a PA300

  • Could the firefighter in the chevy take any longer putting on his bunker gear? Really?

  • @italianbroker1

    Personally Owned Vehicle.

  • Nice driving, and a fantastic stop boys! Absolutely well done.

  • Sound like you broke a tree or glass when you turn the camera to the left.

  • oh ok Thanks for the reply

  • @StandOnTruth Then why was he not in gear?

  • @webfire29 I don't know. I wasn't there. I'm not a firefighter nor do I go to calls.

  • @webfire29 The 2 on either side of the ladder are police officers and footing the ladder is a firefighter in gear you can see him walk away as the civilian steps down off the ladder

  • wow do you see some people are just standing and walking like " oh well aint my house who cares"

  • @kaylaizzy1 running at fires is a no no

  • Private

    Owned

    Vehicle

  • @Johnny64ism POV= Personally Operated Vehicle

  • God it's heartbreaking seeing the residents walking around helpless.

  • nice video but how many cars do you have just the pickup and this?

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard I personally drive the F250 diesel. This video is from one of the POC firemen. He has his own dash camera.

  • @WestPlainsFD oh ok thats pretty cool

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard We have 20 Paid On Call firemen and about half of them run lights and siren. We have 12 full time firemen, about half of us run lights and siren also.

  • @Johnny64ism Personally Owned Vehicle.

  • @jackhole5104 Personally Owned Vehicle.

  • volunteer firefighters, not gonna lie you guys are pretty badass! well done!

  • oh i see Thanks for responding.

  • @Johnny64ism It shows that this video was from a Personal Vehicle and not a fire engine. One of our POC firemen had this in his own response vehicle (POC - Paid On Call fireman - firemen that don't pull shifts but do respond to every paged fire call).

  • This how Newport Fire and Rescue responds. The IAFF runs, and we meet them there. Dont want to be around our fire deparment though, Volunteers vs IAFF bad news here.

  • you all do an excellent job fighting fire and the quick knock downs... you all should be very proud of the team that you have.... also you all do an excellent job on the video coverage... excellent work, all of you...

  • @406314 youtube.com/watch?v=NOPOOP6-ndg

  • @406314 blue and white to the front and sides and then blue white and red to the rear

  • @406314 99 S10 Blazer

  • personally i dont like pov response to any incident..... it clutters the scene with vehicles and you do not have the equipment to do anything you just sit there and wait. i think it just looks unprofessional.... but thats just my opinion... good video of the fire though

  • @Footballarm102 well on our dept (Rural volunteer dept town of 1,900) some of the members live far enough away from that station that by the time they get there (4-5 mins) the guys in town already have the trucks rolling to the scene and we dont have a choice to go POV. i agree sometimes it can get cluttered but we usually dont have many problems with it.

  • @Flipzsd2 In our dept theres 4 guys who live a minute from the fire dept and about 8 that live about 5 mins away.... our dept does not have very many members i think theres like 20 on the roster but about 8 that run calls

  • @Footballarm102 yeah same here we have 21 on the roster but only about 8 (12 on big fires if were lucky) that show up

  • @Flipzsd2 yea

  • Thank You For What You Do!!!

  • 3:10 Broke the cam nah

  • nive video but one thing to remember never run on scene im just a rookie and made that mistake

  • @ccfdexplorer100 as did i on a buff job commercial spa fire fully involved went to 6 alarms by about 1:00 in the morning my girlfriend and i was one of the first buff members on scene i parked my car and ran as fast as i could to get some good shota on my camera and BAM a transformer blew 40 feet from me i got startled stopped dead in my tracks and jumped back i damn near knocked my girlfriend on the ground. my company was called 3 hours after the initial dispatch for a FAST team good times

  • I agree with PSFDstation46, you guys made a very good stop, I timed about 4 minutes from when you arrived on scene until there was steam conversion. Great job, and way to drive safe!

  • how much do you get paid ...since you guys are paid on call?

  • @bobg757 No civilians were involved that was a firefighter footing the ladder and 2 police officers on either side of the ladder

  • Good run...its been a lil bit since i ran a call in my truck my siren speaker got fryed a while back and i aint got the money to replace it ha so i jump in my pops truck and go..but anyway...like i said good run and im use to seein vollies run red and white from where im from..firefighters run red and white and the police blue and red and can use white...the department im on is joined together police and fire...cops can fight fire with us...

  • i subscribed hope to see more videos coming :)

  • what kind of siren and where do you live that you can run blue lights and a siren as a volly firefighter

  • @2300firefighter West Plains Missouri and the siren in this video is a PA 300

  • i sure wish we here could have sirens on our POV's we cant. some do tho illegally, i had a structure fire yest and had to come from across the county on a mostly 2 lane during 530pm traffic and very few moved to the side for my Emergency light and even flashing headlights. yet if i had a siren more ppl would notice u coming and move over. some are so oblivious. good driving and safe response.

  • @CSAFD If you are that far away you aren't gonna make that much difference anyway. Take your time and get there safe.

  • does it matter what color yur pov is mine is GREEN in fronat and RED/BLUE in back. lol

  • @cheeseninja134 We are only allowed Blue and White to the front and sides and Blue and White and/or Red to the rear

  • My uncle is a firefighter for west plains...his name is Wayne...do you know him?

  • @freedomfighter77000 Yes he is a good friend of mine

  • @freedomfighter77000 Yeah we do. He's been a firefighter for West Plains for quite some time. (I'm not on the dept or associated. Just know the guys that work there)

  • Nice hit.

  • VERY nice response......I wish more volunteers would see this and use it as a guide as HOW TO RESPOND to a call within the traffic laws!!!! Nice job and nice response!!! Stay safe, brother!!!

  • I haven't lived in West Plains for ages now......Went to High School there. Glad to see ya'll making some nice vids out there.......one of these days I'll have some response vids from Moreau F.P.D.....(Which is based in Miller, Morgan and Moniteau Counties in Central MO...about 12 or so miles North of Lake Ozark and Osage Beach.)

  • Nice video....16 year call firefighter here in MA!!

  • Great vid and good job following traffic laws even while driving code to the call

  • i saw on a previous comment that your responding vehicle is a chevy blazer. im gettign a blazer myself next week and i was wondering what light setup you have and where you got them. thanks!

  • @TheNich8888 i have a visor bar in front and in the back and then on the sides i have tier3 LEDs my visor bars me and a fellow firefighter built custom using tier3 LEDs which you can get at any emergency light store

  • @470wpfd cool thanks

  • that is a old siren

  • @rguy01 Actually it is not that old only a couple years

  • yeah that fire is in the entire top floor, even attic. Great vid brother

  • yea j was more concerned with the guy coming down the ladder... good response. i think its cool you guys in some states get to roll with blue lights. here in SC we roll red... but mostly red and white.

  • nice video, great job!

greetings from a german firefighter :-)

  • Yeah you know its going to be a gooder since you can see the smoke right when you leave home lol.... Good job done fellow firefighter!! Im a volunteer in Lacombe Canada and nice to see good work :)

  • you a cop and a fire fighter or wat

  • @mtvw700 Just a firefighter

  • @470wpfd no such thing as "just" a firefighter! Stay safe, brother!

  • what broke in your car dude

  • @mtvw700 it was actually the velcro breaking free from the camera

  • NOW.........That's how to knock down a working fire!!!!!!

Excellent work, brothers!!!!!!!!! (and sisters if it applies)

  • thought those looked like MO plates, nice to see some vids from my old home state, A+ on videos and response was nice also.

  • a pa300 siren awesome i've never seen it in a pov response before thanks

  • @themooseisontheloose Ive used it for a little over a year now

  • @470wpfd awesome and i just realized it's the fdny style which is my absolute favorite could you post a video of your vehicle layout it says your in mo but all i saw were blue lights reflecting

  • nice video

  • Ok, thanks...And all the pov lights are blue correct???....

  • @Firefighter0804 Blue and White optional Red Or Amber to the rear only

  • Comment removed

  • hey, what County and State are you in because here where I am only the chiefs and captains can run sirens and have a response radio.

  • @Firefighter0804 what state r u in?

  • Hey, What county and State are you in?....And are you like a Captain or Chief because only those two people at in my district can run sirens and have a response radio.

  • @Firefighter0804 No I am not a cheif or captain we are in Missouri and all of Missouri is allowed lights siren and radio.

  • awbaker8008, whats with the lack of an interior attack? From the vantage point of the camera man it appears conditions warrant that. Were there unseen conditions that made it defensive?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @glassjawface There was interior attack it is just unseen in this video.

  • So how does it work, do the fulltimers take the pumper and the rest of you meet them on scene ?

  • I am s volunteer fire fighter here in Pennsylvania. We have paid drivers and we have volunteers. The paid drivers man the station and roll with the trucks. Also there is a rescue that the volunteer pick up. Any way they roll with the truck and yes we meet them on scene with our personal vehicles.

  • Comment removed

  • @pumper8032 yes, that is basically how it works, the full time engineers roll the apparatus, and the paid on call firefighters meet us on scene.

  • Cool thats why you guys get to use sirens! Do you have to buy them?

  • @RCcustomPD yes we have to purchase them

  • @WestPlainsFD

wanted to make this public knowledge..

departments which only have paid on call or non-live-in volunteers,it is generally the first whom gets there rolls out,on a minor call the ones that get late just go home,on bigger stuff(say a 2nd alarm is put out later) then the rest meet on scene.

  • @hillikt We have fulltime live-in Engineers who respond in the engine the rest are non live-in paid-on-call volunteers and our pageing system is set-up into companies (A,B,C,D) and depending on the nature or size of the call decides how many companies are toned out this is to limit excess personnel that is how WestPlainsFD is setup

  • @WestPlainsFD thats true. same thing goes here in NY

  • Comment removed

  • nice video... and good safe reponse. Is that a patrol car you are in? Please tell me that wasnt a firefighter coming down that ladder at 3:30 without any gear on? Other than that very nice video and good knockdown. Looks like an old house so no wonder its well involved.

  • @PSFDstation46 actually its a chevy blazer with a brush gaurd, and no that was one of the residents that was coming down the ladder.

  • @WestPlainsFD Yea, the brush gaurd is what threw me off. Nice video though... I wish my state would allow Vol's to have sirens. We're only allowed to have red lights.

  • @WestPlainsFD Glad to see you floks had someone on scene to get the guy out with the ladder. Love the response.

  • 6:30 mins till the smoke changed very nice knock down!!!
