pardon me for my ignorance, but didn't the fuke-zen tradition die out during feudal japan? i hope i am sadly mistaken and i do hope that this unique tradition continues to live and thrive to this day.
Very nice. Is that honkyoku? What song and tradition, tozan-ryu, or kinko-ryu? I've recently purchased a yuu and am just starting to learn the art. Any hints?
This is a very nice video. I love the look of the komosou outfit, straw hat and the shakuhachi he is playing. Looking at this video and hearing the shakuhachi gives me such a peaceful and tranquil feeling. I wish I had a big poster of a komosou monk in an ancient town that is high up in a mountain as he's playing his shakuhachi. Japan is a beautiful place. I hope it's people always remember to keep the old or ancient ways of Japan alive. Very nice video.. so peaceful.

This sound was composed by Nando Tsuruta, may be, in eary Souwa Period.
This belongs in Koten-honkyoku.
You know, of course, my skill is not perfect yet.
