Hey, Mike! I've been trying to watch this all day... but my 2 sweethearts never gave me the chance to sit and watch it.
Wow... what a great video! I'm so glad I sent you that message. You know, some things like this happen and in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "nah, he won't think that's as neat as I do" (or something along those lines)... so I just don't mention them.
You probably know me well enough to know I'm going to type a mini-novel here. :)
First of all... you're 100% on the user name. It would have been CR1223... but that was already taken.
And you're pretty close with the time frame. My dad was actually the oldest and my aunt the youngest... so she probably became a fan around 1960.
I didn't know how you'd react to the rabbit and gravy part of the story. haha To most people these days, it doesn't sound very good. It's nice to hear that you've had it, too! And when Ms Terry cooked it, it was AWESOME!
And speaking of AWESOME... I got a chill when you listed out all the great people that we're going to meet in heaven... and then you mentioned ME. Wow! What a day that will be! (And I chuckled a little at the way you slipped in "and hopefully his aunt")
I do hope we get to meet before that day though. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, let me know. I might just try to find that rabbit and gravy recipe. :) And my wife has been begging me to take her to NY for years...
...so maybe one day! In the meantime, I keep putting it off... but I'll eventually post a video so you can put a face/voice to the name.

Fry rabbit in butter. push it to side and mix flour into grease and spice slowly work milk into the mix. continuosly stir till it comes to a boil and thickens. You might find rabbit at your local hispanic meat counter
That's awesome! My dad got it when it was practically new. I just checked the serial number and it was made in 1959. I think dad got it a couple years after that. It's a great gun (model 37).

I don't know if we have a local Hispanic meat counter... but I have this 16ga Ithaca that my dad gave me when I was 14 years old. :)

That gun was made within' 30 miles of where I live!
