I can see why no one wants to abolish this holiday. What I don't get it is why people don't see anything wrong with being "nice" and "giving" one "season" a year, then going right back to being tyrants after throwing away the tree.
I myself find freedom in NOT celebrating this holiday. This is a among other things a retail holiday, and I thank GOD for opening my eyes to the truth!

Christmas was the catholic church's altered version of the winter solstice and the celebration of the original Gods birthdays. They just gave it the catchy name of Christ-Mass in order to try and convert pagans. It was never intended to be taken so seriously. @turi73 Yes, that truth includes Jesus, that he is God's son and that He died for mankind. That truth also includes the good news of God's kingdom that Jesus also teached about while on earth. Along with relying on Gods Holy Spirt for strenght and power.

Unfortunately the word "Jehova" is a made up name as well... from letters YHVH that represent the name of GOD in HIs word... such a holy name that the Hebrew writers refused to write it out fully so not to profane the Name of GOD.

@scourtle actually no, we believe that his a messenger from God, just like moses, abraham and muhammad, one God, one message... :) (believing in jesus being the son of God would be an idolation of a creation instead of the only creator, and i'm not saying we don't love Jesus, we can't be muslims if we don't love him more than ourselves and follow his teachings, same for moses) i think you didn't watch the video in my previous comment :p

@TwentyTenthEpisode no offense, but i thought that Jesus was the Son of God, and that God sent Jesus because he saw that man wasnt gonna follow something that they couldnt see even though he had already proven his point to various persons. (grammar check).... man needed someone to set an example right? because God isnt gonna control u directly, but he'll direct u. n besides, Jesus was the ONLY sinless man. though he felt the SAME tempations as us. thats something only God would be able to do.

@DamienSteeley None taken :) Yes, he was a sinless man but he wasn't the only one, muhammad also was, you can read his biography if you dont believe me, almost every prophet is (after recieving revelation) that's what we believe, and about the divinity of Jesus, we believe that he was a man (yes performed miracles, but other prophets did too) and he breathed, drank, slept.. these are human atributs, our minds are not able to comprehend a divine atribut, like existing before time for example..

I hate that many of my Christian friends don't see or want to see christmas for what it really is... Sure I can understand the innocent christian celebration of xmas.. thinking that Jesus had something to do with it... but really after you know better, why on earth would you continue on with the practices of the pagans and associate it with christianity... it's self delusion.
Christmas is the celebration of JUL the pagan sex and fertility God!. Christmas even translates to JOULU in finnish..

I too have studied the origins of "christmas" and refuse to ever celebrate a pagan warped holiday again. I have not celebrated christmas in 4 years, God willing, it will be forever. Many who "claim" to be christians embrace these pagan unholy days but scripture says that those who "know" and follow YESHUA will be obedient to HIS HOLY Days not the pagan "man holidays". Its an awkward situation even if every1 new this information they would still go about christmas because not matter of what its orginal meanings are, people thoughts and intensions have no reflection on these past times. It has been adopted and made there own, people mean well in the celebrations. Its just one of the many deceptions of the devil/illuminati.

Yea.. I know what you mean.. I've been doing it for 21 years... but in 2010 I didn't do it.. and I felt left out.. cause my family was opening presents and what not.. But it says not to do this in the Bible.. and it also says if you love your family more than Christ, you are not worthy of him.. I'm trying to prove to HIM that I'm worthy. No matter what I got to go through.. Just stay strong! And if you are, keep following the LORD!
