  • Is this the same thing as a side chain?

What would be the difference if?

    Thanks

  • @novanine9 i think it is opposite to sidechain, because here we are activating the bass when the kick goes in, in the other case the kick lowers the bass when it comes in

  • great tutorial

  • U shoulda taught how to sidechain with the peak controller too.

  • very good tutorial

I finally learn how to use peak controller THANK YOU

also, it would be great if you can turn up the quality of the screen capture software :D

    again, thank you

  • Thx for tutorial :)

  • damn great tutorial man :)

  • good vid

  • Hey awesome man but I wanna know how to do the opposite. How do I mute the baseline on each kick?

  • @thenewido in this tutorial he sets the fruity mute to off (sound off) and the sound comes on when the peak hits, so just do the same only have the mute swithced to on (sound on) and each peak hit will mute the sound. Hope that makes sense/helps 8 ]

  • Thanks

  • WHATS UP EVRYBODY

  • This is the kind of tutorials i'll PAY FOR! (naah.. im joking)

Thx a lot man! U keep me impressed n every tut!

  • thanx a lot sir

  • good tutorial! , but its something between me and peak controller that dont wanna go along...,

  • well done!

  • you guys have a tut about everything i need to learn lolol. ty so much

  • is there also a possibility to get the sound only if the kick isnt there?

  • @MasterJ62 Y, I think you could do that by setting "mapping formula" to "Inverted" (when you link to controller)

  • I still have got no idea of how it could work ,many presets and options are not so clear for me but it is very good tutorial . You got it with very brief and understanding way to work on it.

  • That was an awesome tutorial but you really took a long time to explain somthing that wasn't that complicated, you should make little quick that fly's through what you're doing in like a minuite with a link to the full tutorial. I'm only mentioning this because you're tutorials are so in depth and, well good.

  • @82premium so is kev willow

  • Is it possible to reverse the effect - I want the peak to mute the sound instead. I want to mute the bass in the moment that a kick or snare is played...

  • @5m1nutes Yes sure man, if you open the Remote control settings ( that's when you click on 'link to controller') you will see the sectoin 'Mapping formula'. There you can click the left arrow and select 'Inverted'.

Hope this is clear enough ;)

  • @djmzzx 10x :)

  • you are a great teacher man. There was another guy who had his fl studio tutorials on he took it down and now is selling it as a package.

  • Thanks so much

  • Boop Boop Boop

  • thanks for the tutuorial but can you make on of the fruity limiter? i beleieve that the limiter is far better but anyways thanks!

  • How did you get the stepbeater so long? I can´t get it over the default length. Great Tutorial, btw. Greetings,

    ~Schandak

  • @DJschandak On top of the step sequencer there is a small box with an arrow right beside it.. in the box are two dashes, move these up for the number of counts you wish to make it..

  • @DJschandak you can get it longer in step sequencers top left corner

  • very nice tutorial..but my vocal goes into the red zone..and i want to control that from happening...can u make a tutorial on vocal peak control? Im not sure if this tutorial helps me for that...i searched on youtube but i catn find anthing that deals with vocals..meaning if u sing into your mic the peak goes beyond the red zone..can u help on this?

  • oh nvm he does it later lmao

  • haha wtf is with the fruity mute? just assign the channel's master volume in its mixer slot to the peak control so its not between max and absolute minimum wtf...

  • thx man u saved me ;)

  • thx nfx, check out some of my beats, your tips really help.

  • Easily the best tutorials I've found for FL Studio! They may be lengthy, but they explain better than almost every other tutorial I've found. You may not be doing these anymore, but I am very grateful to have found these!

  • i cant hear a difference betwwen peak controller and no peak controller -.-

  • thanx 4 this tutorial NFX i didn't know what a peak controller was untill u showed me

i use it quite a lot peace out

  • your beats are alsome but it is to long

  • man you are great.

im searching since years for a trancegate function like that.

    thx a lot

  • good stuff : ) ty !

  • lol you take every piece of fl studio that ppl will try messing around with on their own with little or no fl studio knowledge and when they twiddle knobs and alter its settings nothing happens. i had no idea the power the peak controller has until this video.

on another note i really wanna know how many total minutes of tutorial-age you have lol its gotta be like 7 hrs

  • nice 1 lawddd :D

  • Awesome man.Just tried out and it works just fine. Thanks mate.Greetings from the uk.

  • Agreed with others.. great helpful tutorial. I couldn't figure out why peak when added muted sound. You can make some very cool effects with this alone.

  • Very Nice!!!=)...10/10

  • thanks, you just made my dnb bass :-D

  • Thanks so much...couldn't figure out the peak controller...cheers

  • Great Vid!! i always wondered what the 3xosc was for

  • ok i did everything he said and at 09:08 that it should run with the bassline. mine dident run with the bassline/or what i made, but everything i did before im sure i did right.

  • in the window link to controller, select Inverted of mapping formula menu, or type 1-Input, the diagonal has to go from the left down to the right up

  • djkalja +1 to you. Just remember though... How long would it take to figure it all out on your own? Probably longer than 16 minutes. :D

  • haha i was just wondering how to use the peak controller so i decided to search "fl peak controller" on youtube and as i was watching the search results i just went "ooh warbwats tutorial , thos should be good ...lets just hope its not too long" and then i looked at the time and went "ohhh gooshh" better start wathcing

  • nice video...it made easy to learn the peak ontroller..thx

  • number 1. thnx

  • DOPE

  • Thanks alot!

  • what bassline is that?

  • Thanks!!!

    Good tutorial!!!

  • Okay you make that best tutorials ever. Period. They help SO much!

  • Mint tutorial...but pleeease speak quicker!

Thanks tonnes though, this is the second time I've watched this...I'ev got a huge idea for a song, so you're a huuge help! (y).

  • Hey there nfxbeats, i just want to thank you for taking the time to show your tutorials, its greatly appreciated. i was checking the tutorial about the( fruity peak controler) and how to do the stutter effect and how you applied it to the choir sounds that was awesome, i was wondering how to do the same thing but instead of the choir, apply the same effect to a specific part of some vocals , i really appreciate your help, thnx again,

  • I think you would have to link an Audio track to the peak controller instead, yet using the OST since its a solid sound. That way you still mute the OSC and the Acapella will stutter along with the pattern you make. Is that what you're trying to do?

  • OmegaGlow you obviously didn't watch the whole movie.

  • lol i thought u said gay effect

  • thanks for being so thorough and clear.

  • thanks, I'm just getting started with FL studio and still have no idea what the fuck I'm doing.

  • quality stuff

  • yeahhhhh

    fucking master

  • awesome AWESOME!!! i like the way you teach!! wellll done!! Tq

  • You`re quite a good teacher this is perfectly explained! Now i just have to experiment with fl do make some awesome electro sound ;) thanks alot !

  • Very usefull tutorial!

  • informative, thanks :)

  • nice tutorial,thanks

  • thanks man.... i have a request... when u piano roll an instrument, the sound goes way longer when you go lower on the keyboard.. is it possible to play a low note but make the length of the note shorter?

  • not really. the problem is that u've got a sample. that means, that u have got lets say a brass sound in C5. this brass sound is made for being played in c5, not in e4 or even d3(just examples). you CAN do so, i dont know whether and how it works in FL, but for example in Audobe Audition, you can transponate without that the note lenght changes. if you want to avoid this, i highly recommend starting to use synthies. i hope i could help out, NXF correct me if I'm wrong

  • thanks man!

  • sweet. i just got fl studio. this helps a lot.

  • I loved your second way of using it, gave me alot of ideas! Thanks :)

  • thx man!!! im gonno use that!!

  • thx... verry helpful... :D

  • Does anybody know of the best screen recorder to use. Everytime I try one the sound never gets recorded. You always have to plug in a mic. Is there one that will just record the sound that plays from your speaker?

  • Thanks NFX you are my Yoda of FL Studio.

  • I discovered the use of 'create automation clip'. That's about the most useful thing I've implemented in awhile. I think I will focus on learning more about the grainuliazer thing next.

  • Wow... I never figured some of these plugins any use to me before. At least not alone; they arn't meant to be used alone I guess. I'm sure I'll get some pretty neat sounds combining this, and the layer techniques. This is kindof like gating. Just use a blank sampler channel for your automation. I used to do everything the hard way by recording my own automation on blank patterns. So much room for error that way. Some things may need to be done like that, but a few months ago I

  • what if I wanna play the bass when the kick is NOT there?

  • INVERT IT! quite logic, isnt it?

  • Yeah... I thought a bit about it and then I realized it... Logic, just as u said lol

  • Yep, just turn the "volume" knob on the peak controller to a negative value, and then the base level to whatever max. volume you want. :)

  • this man is d best!

  • GREAT VID!!!

  • 20 out of 5!!!

  • a bit too long..

    but great - thank you!

  • 5 stars ... clear 'n simple

  • im having a problem, im trying to link my kick with sytrus and with sytrus that bar doesnt move much so it doesnt turn the mute on or off, it either stays on or stays off, is there any way that i can link my kick to only when a note hits?

  • U have to turn the vol nutton on the peak controller up. If that doesn't work, u need to turn ur sytrus volume up.

  • Thank you so much!

This is great in creating trance :D

  • thankyou

  • thank youu!!

  • cool, thx

  • great tut! ty for the info

  • thanks for the support!!!!! great!!!!!

  • how do you insert your instruments inthe master??

  • the master-channel is evry isntruments

  • I always wondered how to get that to work, thanks! ;)

  • buen beat

  • yeah this is where i go when i need to learn someting

  • awesome 10x a lot nfx !!

  • Dude you rock

  • where is the "base line" ?

  • I want to thank u for helping nfx your tutorials I go back to often. You are makeing a huge difference in my life and music thank u thanku very very much I mean this from the bottom of my heart you truly are a great teacher never stop thank u

  • Outrageous!

  • you're my FL STUDIO GOD!!!!

THX SO MUCH it realy helped me

  • Gracias...I apreciatte this tuts

  • I just have one question, you might have answered this before, but anyway. In allot of genres, like electro house or heavy hip hop, the bass will be so loud that it kinda eats the drums, how can you use the peak controller to take the bass down just a bit when the drum hits? Love your tutorials thank you for great help.

  • man you are so good. i learned alot from your free tutorials . you are the best . forget them other cats who charge you money to teach you how to make boom boom clap.

  • boop boop boop

  • Thankx!!!!!!!! tro coooool!

  • I LOVE you!!!!!!!!!)))))))))))

  • In fact, I don't recommend messing with the volume on any channel in the sequencer at all. :-| that's just my workflow though. To each his own rofl.

    I'm ranting, though. Good tut.

  • Pretty good tut. But I don't really recommend people linking the choir channel's volume on the sequencer to the peak controller. Your best bet is to put a limiter on the choir, and link the threshold of it to the peak controller instead. It's a lot more clean that way.

  • man I really love you !!!!!!!

  • o my god

  • Thank you

  • Excellent Tutorial!

  • You're such an awesome teacher! I've learned so much from you! Keep it up, man!

  • waht version of fruity loops do u use?

  • i'm pretty sure it's 5 producer edition. but i could be totally wrong

  • hmmm... im askin cuz u see when he goes to the other patterns the boxes of the other patterns looks like lil lines.. and the instruments dont show... i want to kno how to do that....

  • He's using the latest version.

But to answer your question of how to hide unused intruments or in your words, to make them into "lines"

You click on: Options>>>General Setting>>> and under ''Miscellaneous''turn on "Auto zip empty channels"

  • thx alot man...

  • No problem my man. Go produce your heart out. :P

  • haha very good

  • Thanks man your tutorials are too great...P:)
