yes, it does. i seriously remember, the first time I watched chamber of secrets, freaking out and accusing HP of ripping off Star Wars (which shalt always pwn HP, and I don't give a damn what anyone else says on that matter).

compared to star wars, harry potter is a major flop.HP is an ENGLISH movie, yet somehow more than 66% of its gross are from NON ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES. (i.e not US, UK, AUS)Although goblet of fire earned 895mil to Revenge of Sith's 850m globally, the US gross of Revenge alone is bigger than the combined UK, US and AUS gross of Goblet!!!! LOL.
Somehow or other the great BRITISH HP films needed foreigners like CHINESE,INDIANS and RUSSIANS etc for it to gross.Thats a fucking sad case.

the foreigners mostly have read the translated versions of the book and were genuingly interested and understood the plots, so they flocked to the HP movies.
Compare SW, where all foreigners whose 1st language isnt English would not be interested to see the films if they were released since they would not understand what is going on anyway.
The Star Wars films thus had a disadvantage, yet the foreign (inflation adjusted) gross were comparable to HP.That shows how popular SW is.

jedis powers come from strenght within the mind but potter and other wizards power is concentrated into a wand so it must be more powerfull than a less concentrated power of the pure mind. But it would be fair if jedis could use their light sabers

the wizards power was equal when a Jedi's power varied from individual to individual so we put Malorum (inquisitor slightly force sensitive) compared to someone like revan or anakin skywalker(pre mustafar) you would notice that their power was different

hey, here's another parallel-look at the HP and SW Trios (Harry, Ron, Hermione and Luke, Han, Leia). Both have the male lead and female share the same starting letters in their names (Harry Hermione and Luke Leia) and the supporting males' names almost rhyme (ron and han). Also, there is romance developing between the supporting male and female (Ron and Hermione and Han and Leia) which start similarly with arguments.

yes, it does. i seriously remember, the first time I watched chamber of secrets, freaking out and accusing HP of ripping off Star Wars (which shalt always pwn HP, and I don't give a damn what anyone else says on that matter).
there are a hell of a lot of similarities, although the quidditch match and death star aren't that similar. even the music, although that's expected as both were done by john williams... either way, HP rocks, but doesn't even come close to being as good as star wars.....

I don't know if I'd agree with you too much on the parallels regarding the assault on the Death Star and on the Quidditch match. I know what you were trying to get at, but I just can't say that they really have anything to do with each other.
