Did you know that some so-called Filipino nationalists at the time, e.g. Aguinaldo, Ricarte etc., who were prior to the fall of the Philippines to Japan in WW2 exiles in Japan? From what I understand, they were among the Filipinos who fully supported the Japanese attack in the Philippines thinking that it was what all Filipinos wanted. Anyway, they finally returned to the Philippines when the RP-US forces lost but had to scramble back to Japan when the US returned.
