Please help me, Please. I cannot get localhost:8080 to work on ANY of my PC's. I watched you video on how to Install Apache Tomcat and everything went fine. Thank You! However, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get "localhost:8080" to work. I keep getting this error. Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)
I stopped IIS but that did not seem to help. I even typed in "localhost/dave, localhost/
Thanks a bunch, this was very helpful. Should probably point out that I needed a reboot after adding the Environment Variable in Windows in order to start up the server successfully. Cheers.
Great.. It really helped me to run my first servlet program.. Could you please post some more videos(Tomcat running on Eclipse platform)as you mentioned in this video. It will be really helpful for many Java developers.. Though we see many videos in the youtube regarding Tomcat installation I found yours to be the best video. Thanks.. Please keep posting some more video. :-)

If anyone is having trouble with "localhost:8080" not connecting then try this:
1. From a command prompt: netstat -anb -p tcp
This will tell you what program is bound to port 8080
In my case I had to turn off: IIS, and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services.
I hope this helps. It took two days of frustration to get "localhost:8080 to work on my PC. Please let me know if this tip helped.
