Any subject closer than about 12 ft requires a smaller interoccular than the side-by-side camera position will allow for. Shooting close-ups with a side-by-side causes eye strain and bad 3D.
3D BULLET RIG is the world's lightest, most affordable, true handheld 3D rig. Compatible with Canon XF105, XF305, 5D, Sony F3, EX3, Epic, DSLR and many other cameras. It's sleak, easy-to-use design provides precise inter-occular (0-3.5"), convergence (0-3 deg), and full x-y-z axis control Visit 3DFilmFactory(dot)com
Can you tell us a bit about the mirror glasses to watch the side-by-side monitors? How do they work? Who sells them? Thank you for the concise information.
@BrandedChannels I was interested in this in this as well and I read on the internet that they make HDR video with a beam splitter as well. So I think so yes
Yes, our MINI Beam-splitter rig is used for HDR photography all the time. We sell and rent it. It's the most affordable rig anywhere. see us online - 3D Film Factory
Thanks for sharing this information. I've not had the chance to shoot with a split beam rig yet, only parallel. Seeing the rig in action is really helpful.
Why not side by side?
