No pianist in the history of pianism has ever approached this tempo. Not Argerich, not Rosenthal, not Ashkenazy. No one. Right. But this kid can do it. That ought to tell y'all that this has been artificially accelerated.
I am a pianist and i can absolutly confirm (by the timing of the depressed black notes) he IS playing the peice at incredibly fast speed. His muscular memory in his body has learnt the peice, relaxation and attention to rhythm them can take over to produce results like these...The secret of his speed in in his relaxation

@peterjordan16910 as a pianist, who can also play this very peice I can absolutly confirm that he is NOT playing this peice at this incredible speed. it's sped up, sorry.
@tys9569 Hi interesting...I'd like to hear your reasons for assuming it is sped up? Where are the flaws, the give away signs? It would net be apropriate just to, because I can't play it this fast therefor it is sped up. You got to back up your position.
I say he IS playing at this speed otherwise his fingers would be just fumbling around and they are CLEARLY articulating notes at speed and correct timming.
@peterjordan16910 my reasons are common sense (as a pianist) . but..btw your reasons in favor of the credibility of the video does not mean anything. "otherwise his fingers would be just fumbling" does not give any supporting evidence. do you know anything about video editing? or anything? perhaps you should look into that.
that is a MUCH more logical conclusion than assuming it is real, if you actually realize how impossible this is. maybe thats why this video has 13 dislikes? ;)
@peterjordan16910 once again. video editing. your reasoning would be just like saying "I saw superman using x-ray vision because i saw it with my eyes and it was in sync" and basing that as 'evidence' (when in fact it was video editing) anyways if part of your reasoning is basing it on how in sync he was watch him release the final note..sound stops before he lifts his hand. not that i think it matters...
also, you should get opinions from other pianists, they'll guide you to the truth :)
@peterjordan16910 but seriously i cant even believe i have to argue this...it's completely obvious. you don't know much about piano virtuosity, don't even give me that philip hii crap. if your just reading about it and havent experienced virtuosity 1st hand you arent in a position to argue. muscle memory takes over, but the human body has limits for christ sake. and in the video EVERYTHING is moving faster than normal not just his hands! that's not how it works.
@tys9569 Hey angry man..calm down, calm down you have anger issues? You do not need to atack! Just admit you do not know. AND it would scare the shit out of you if you found this guy WAS playing at the speed shown.
Why? Because then you'd have to re-think averything you asume to know in your 'authoritative' position....Well...you you asume too much already.
I have no need to attack you, if I were wrong it wouldn't mean a thing to me. It's just an opinion.
@peterjordan16910 oh and also, look at the kids profile and see what you find. ud suspect a kid with this much virtuosity to play something other than 1 bach peice eh? and some video about falling dominoes.
If he's not playing, it's the best "piano-synch" I've ever seen. I can't find a place in the video to prove he's not playing. My theory: you could record a performance (video and digitally) at slow speed. Then speed up the video, have the Clavinova play at the same speed, synch recording with sped-up video and viola!! Really ingenious and 5-star worthy.
@Melorama2000, No, actually this scammer played this piece very slowly on his digital piano while the record button was on - when finished, he set the tempo on the keyboard to very fast, got up and hit the record on the camcorder, sat back down at the piano, hit play and then accurately played the easy octaves (who can't?!) and ran his fingers up and down, not even making the effort to at least mimic those enormous stretches.
This is what happens if you spill black coffee in the Clavinova.

If u can't hear that it is a fake at about 1:05 while looking at his playing then there is something wrong or u don't know the piece very well...
