  • whoa...uh...too much power on the....uh...the um....thing

  • With alternative energy sources becoming more popular. Radiant energy (solar, infra-red and others)...power will not be a problem. I am down for a currency that relies on the labor of machines instead of the backs of people. Keep up the great work Xanderdee :)

  • @stoni2041

People have already designed systems that take less power for a higher price. The price will come down but the system makes it harder and harder to find blocks over time.

I love this system of money because there are not criminal banks or government in the way of me send digital wealth from one person to another. I wish more people can see it's POWER!

  • CPU should not go up at all... You make some wrong settings in command line, probably..

  • @solarfox2010

Nope, version 11.12 of the drivers fixes the CPU usage problem and you no longer need the NULL video plug.

  • Do you actually make a profit from this? Could imagine the electricity outnumbers how much you make.

  • @turtleman924

Yes and I believe strongly in this project because I understand the monetary system, credit and circulation.

  • Mining with CPU is total useless... That CPU can make 1-2 MH/s compared to single ATI 5870 is ~400 MH/s :P so you just wasting 65W in nothing.

  • Fuck it just grow pot and make X2 more money

  • @MrThewhitenigger Probably running it to buy pot.

  • how can I mine BC? i try ti figur it out but i dont understand BC

  • @basmagic

The short form is BTC and you need special hardware and you need to be good at it.

Buying is better because it's now below the cost of electricity in > 50% places on the planet.

You will find that buying is just as difficult. It's just as well since I think only the people who know how solid the thing is should invest right now because we are strong hands that know for sure it will work.

  • BUT.... Will it run Crysis?

  • @zonda814

Like nothing you have ever seen before on many screens.

  • @zonda814 With quad 5850's Yes. It probably will.

  • bitcoin.com

  • Haha, why so windows?

  • @supercoolguyT It's called leverage your current knowledge.

  • Is their a GPU based version? Could i use servers from a datacenter to process this if they are all equipped with firepro GPUs?

  • OMG 16.72 BTC an hour

    If 1 BTC = 10.0176

    Thats $160.32 an hours. And 24 hours = $3874.68

Pause at 1:17 and take a look at BTC per hour.

  • @papercuber

    Don't make that anymore.

  • @papercuber, that is his current balance and it is updated once an hour. It would be real nice to see how many bitcoins a day he is getting.

  • @UTACRaycaster Yesterday is my birthday, I need help with bitcoins. And I'm now 15, my parents won't let me use their credit card so I can buy a mining rig. can you help me? I'm mining with a 7 year old laptop at 700 k/h with CPU mining.

  • @papercuber Well, someday you'll be 18, and you can get your own Credit Card. :).

  • @mbe102 I need 43 bitcoins to invest on a vidock (which is a external graphic card for laptop) and a good graphic card. I installed on windows 7 and im happy that my laptop is no longer overheating :D

  • @spankMAbooTAY

I know this is a few days late, but check out spendbitcoins(dot)com. There you can find stores that directly accept bitcoins, and stores that you can indirectly buy stuff with bitcoins.

  • @spankMAbooTAY

There are many places you can spend bitcoins however they are not everywhere. Gold is and has always been money but you can't spend it in a shop but the concept of what is money is not what you are after. You are looking to insult and badger.

You can wait until you need bitcoins to buy something else however at that point it will have greater value and you will be wishing you just purchased and kept just 1.

  • hey guys, im just starting with all this bitcoin mining stuff, but unfortunately i only have nvidia cards =( if any of you guys can help please donate bitcoins to me, any amount helps...any bitcoins i get will go directly towards me buying a decent radeon card. thanks for reading

  • I have $10000 to blow is it worth the money in mining for bitcoins ?

  • @aceone1988

Not right now no, but by the time you do get the equipment it would be worth it. So the best thing you could do is buy bitcoins with the money. Then when bitcoins are more valuable it's worth mining then you sell and buy mining equipment.

Right now it would cost you $1500 for a miner that would produce 0.66 bitcoins a day, that is the cost of energy only in some states and it would take 270 days to get 150 bitcoins that yo could buy today with cash.

  • @aceone1988

That's why I am buying bitcoins right now instead of adding more miners.

  • how is the CPU maxed? are you mining with it? I thought people mined solely with GPUs.

  • @DeadbeatXT

Driver under windows max the CPU but have no effect if you set the affinity to one CPU.

  • @DeadbeatXT

Btw Linux does not do this

  • We have a new free bitcoin pool, please join us! bithasher com

  • I know fairly well those 5850 are about to melt, runing at ~95C with fans @ 100%.

hope you didn't leave them that way.

  • @memristo

I have not left them like that.

  • @memristo

    I fixed it.

  • Sound's like a hair dryer!

  • i have 2 5770's running in crossfire. DVI out from one card to my monitor. i use BTCGuild and i can get 200 MHash on one miner (overclocked vcard). i can't get the 2nd card running as a second miner. it will start for a minute and then it craps out.. any ideas ?

  • @keeperofthewater I think i read somewhere that one should disable ULPS when running crossfire and mining. I've never done it myself though.

  • Hey Pls Donate us some Coins and become more Coins back from oure Donatesystem :) just like 0.5 Coins and become even more back.

  • I guess now mining is not profitable at all after the mtgox hack and prices at 16-18 and this shit difficulty ? 1,379,223

  • @smartman123100

Mining was not profitable at < $1 but people did it anyways because they where saving the bitcoins thus driving up it's value.

  • @davincij15 not true mining at those days were extra cpu time .. not expensive GPU hardware and power .. and the market is saturated now .. no pricing up i bielive

  • Is this just like Folding@home it looks like your gpu folding

  • @solidsnake1678

No bitcoin is currency google it.

  • yeah, i get that cpu max whenever i run the miners ... people tell me this doesnt happen on linux. ;(

  • @seethrupanti

One way to work around it is to start your computer without the null video plugs or crossfire, install v11.4 or higher of drivers and v2.4 of the stream and just use a monitor on one then start mining device 0, then unplug the monitor and plug it into the next video card and then start a new mining command line window run start mining device 0 again. I know that sounds wrong but you see you are connected to another card and that card is now device 0.

  • You spend more money than you earn

  • @FRoSTYRuNzXBL wrong

  • @FRoSTYRuNzXBL

I have not but maybe you have what equipment did you buy? Opps that's right you have not purchased anything. My bad.

  • try putting a screw driver there instead, should mine the hell out of your pc and shitty "coins"

  • You could use a GPU-only miner, you'd barely need to touch the CPU.

  • which miners with that settings are you useing? i only get 240mhash/s with my 5850

  • Hey Pls Donate us some Coins and become more Coins back from oure Donatesystem :) just like 0.5 Coins and become even more back.

  • Holy shit the power bill is going to be huge.

  • @eitrig These people still work, just so you know lmfao.

  • @eitrig doesn't matter, his mom is going to pay it.

  • what would be ALOT better imo is that instead of these computers wasting there cpu/gpu power on pointless tasks is that they did folding@home and earned bitcoin that way...I would so get behind this if that was the case but its not its just crunching pointless numbers

  • bitcoins seems like a complete waste of time. it'd be different if you could earn bitcoins from simple tasks, but the money and effort put in to bitcoin mining, it would be easier just to get a job. and youd make more money too.

  • dont see the point myself... bitcoin will not be be accepted by govs or the public

  • @MrTardPower

Twitter, who the fuck would want to type in what they are doing right now? It will never work! You never know what will and will not work I know this will work because there is a need for it and what you fail to see is most people actually understand digital currency as it makes up 90% of all our currency that is being debased.

  • @davincij15 ok lol first you say "You never know what will and will not work" then you say "I know this will work",,,,ummm... ok then... and I understand it fully , but I still dont want it, money needs to be regulated like it or not. Just because things are bad now I wont be turning to this silly bit coin crap.. its only digital monopoly money

  • hope your electricity bill is worth it

  • Could you take some well lit close up pics of those dummy plugs and incorporate them into your video? I've just started mining and that information will come in really helpful for not only me but other fellow miners as well. Thanks for your video!

  • I just don't get this at all... Mining for bit coins?... Where do they come from, what's with building a pc thing to mine for them...

  • @MrBenchy35

Bitcoin is a database of who has what bitcoin everyone as copy of the database and all its previous transactions, only people with an encryption key owning bitcoins can send them to some one else. Thus no one can tamper with database and if they did it would be rejected.

To protect the database and build it bitcoins are awarded to people who mine, the mining activity helps build the database and protect it from people trying to scam the system.

  • I don't get it. Why do you need video cards?

  • @SatanistSin

Video cards are designed to do floating point math 100s of times faster than a CPU.

  • @davincij15 I see said the blind man

  • davinci does the PCIE have to be 16bit or 8 bit is ok?

    what is the mother board?

  • @Decebal825

As far as I can tell 8 bit is fine according to my motherboard manual if I use all PCIE slots they all run as 8-bit and I have not seen and slow downs.

  • So how many buttcoins did you collect

  • @Zetek04

    1100

  • Comment removed

  • I can't find a tutorial on how to install a mining server under windows. can you hook me up with a link? cheers!

  • @AORNOfficial

    google gui poclbm

  • @davincij15 thanks. I got it and with the CPU I get 2.9 Mhash/sec. that's good or bad?

  • @AORNOfficial I have this same problem, if you find the video tutorial or any information can you please message me. Thanks :)

  • perhaps your electricity bill will outweigh your bitcoin income :)

  • @EDDN20 According to what I've read, the 5850 is a pretty excellent value for bitcoin mining.

  • Are all your GPU's running pcie x16 or did you buy the x8 to x16 adapters? And if they are all x16 what motherboard are you running? i have an extra pc with an amd athlon 64 x2 that i want to build a miner with (which i think is am2 socket if im not mistaken) , but i only have 1 x16 port. id like to run at least 2 GPU's on it. i have 1 machine running a single geforce 8800gs and it runs around 19-20 Mhash/sec but thats not nearly enough to be profitable.

  • @xanderdee

For Bitcoin mining you buy the slowest CPU you can get to cut back on energy consumption.

It has no effect on the GPU mining at all.

  • @MoosePower740 What about bottlenecking?

  • @TheMmakk

CPUs are not as fast as GPUs thus you will not get much speed from that processor.

  • set your miners to the same affinity.

  • Je44567

    why?

  • @TheEvilDetector With multiple instances of the miner there is some kind of bug on OpenCL on windows that causes 100% cpu utilization per instance of the miner. if you set the affinity on all 4 miners the same only one core is 100% and allows the other cores to throttle down cutting the wattage. performance is not effected nor is it needed on a single core sempron .. definitly works and the CPU should be doing next to nothign anyway because all the processing is on the GPU.

  • You should add a Mr. Fusion to the top of that setup, power outages will be a thing of the past, 1.21 gigawatts at your disposal as long as you have plenty of beer cans and banana peels to feed it.

  • is it worth the electrisity you put in? how many coins do you get a day?

  • Are you in a pool or in your own ??

  • @alxhotel

    Pool mining.

  • Thanks for posting these videos! Good luck man!

  • Dude I got a miner with 3 5870 - I dont even have a screen connected no crossfire or anyting, and I dont need to use any dvi on the back to make em' work. Your setup is quite wierd and 1.1ghash/s seems kinda low with 4 of those cards, you can optimize your system much better it seems.

  • @Lolianzo what's your hash rate with 3x 5870's? Are you using linux, windows, mac?

  • @Lolianzo

I have 1 5870 and it gives me a hash rate of 400Mh out of the box.

The out of the box hash rate for 5850s is 280Mh but overclock will get you 330 stable.

  • @Lolianzo Hey, what kind of motherboard are you using? What do you use for cooling? I'm thinking about the same setup. What a coincidence.

  • @hopelesswait " MSI 890FXA-GD70 ", your welcome.

  • Can you tell me what motherboard you are using to run those 4 video cards?

  • @pontiacgto405

    MSI 890FXA-GD70

  • how many of these moneys do you make a day and what do you plan on doing with them?

  • @Goth47

    25 a day.

And I will save them just in case bitcoins takes off then I will sell them for gold and silver.

  • @davincij15 i make about 1. :D sadly i cant buy a new pc just for farming this shit.

  • @Goth47

    Can I buy your bitcoins?

  • @davincij15 at what price and do you use paypal? :]

  • @Goth47

MTGox price at $6.30 USD and yes I will send it via paypal!

  • @davincij15 it seems that you only buy big batches of coins :D

  • @Goth47

Yeah well it's not a priority but I will back to you send me your pay pal email and I will send you the money tomorrow for 1 bitcoin.

  • Just a few suggestions:

    1. Remove your crossfire bridges, they are actually bad for GPU mining

    2. use guiminer or poclbm (GPU-only bitcoin mining clients) to alleviate the CPU bottleneck issue, which will probably result in you getting more performance out of your 5850s, since they're probably not reaching their full potential right now

    3. if you haven't already, lower memory clocks on your 5850s to get lower load temps. VRAM frequency and bandwidth makes no difference for GPU mining performance

  • @cataclysm

    Thanks for the tips.

    1. I will remove the XFire they make no diffrence anyway.

    2. I Use poclbm already and my CPUs are maxed and you are right my GPUs are not at full capacity.

    3. To change the VRAM frequency what software would I use to do that?

  • @davincij15

I'll just send you a PM on how to do it because the comments for videos have a pretty low character limit

  • what motherboard, 4 slots?

  • @pirucreek

    MSI 890FXA-GD70

  • How much jigging/fiddling/updating of hardware would there be in order to keep attracting bitcoins on an economic basis, D? Is it a high-maintenance endeavour?

  • @cpswyl2

Yes. But as I get better at it the work load would go down.

  • @davincij15 How about for dummys?

  • So the null cable fools the video cards into thinking they're attached to a monitor, so they think their lives have meaning and they dont go into premature retirement

  • @cpswyl2

    Correct.

  • Mmm. Now I understand a little. You're competing to generate blocks of bitcoins (which occurs every 15minutes). That's called 'mining'. Mining sucess is correlated with the amount of computing power you add to the network (you're effectively a 'node'?). You're using independent GPU's because they're a lot more powerful than CPU's.

  • @cpswyl2

    Yes to all your statements.

  • I generated my first block last night! =P Woo hoo!

  • @nlucctw2

Cool what was you Mhash rate?

  • @davincij15 Since I bought too small of a power supply I can't run both of my HD Radeon 6990's. So I have been running in a sense on one leg at 660MH/s and in 48 hours or so I was able to generate my first block. Probably luck was on my side. I ordered a 1600 w power supply to juice these two cheesy cards so I can output 1.3GH/s.

  • @nlucctw2

Nice what did those cards set you back?

  • @davincij15 2 x $725 ea. = $1450. The cards are the most expensive part. At today's prices 50 bit coins is aobut $300 USD. The cost of my rig will probably be paid off in a couple of months. Have you tried to sell any bit coins to see how liquid they are in the market place?

  • @nlucctw2

No I have not. But I'm willing to gamble on bitcoins.

  • @nlucctw2

I am trying to buy bitcoins from MT Gox but it's not working.

  • @davincij15 What's not working exactly? Does it give you an error message?

  • lol

  • Bitcoins are up to about $5. Think it's a bubble?

  • @socialteaparty No it's not a bubble. Maybe $1000/BTC is a bubble.

  • @socialteaparty

No, consider 1 bitcoin could cost $100 by next year and that would not give it a market cap of 1 billion. Even if it got there it would not even be a fly to the Feds.

  • Hey you should sell some mining rigs. I'll send your some silver for one. Seriously.

  • @BookofNick

    LOL.

    Loved that interview you did.

  • Davinci you tripped the breaker! Good job!

  • Geez Davincj, you gone speaking Chinese??

Im waiting for my wife to watch all this. She's the techie around here..

I can only imagine how much silver is facilitating that BC mining ;)

  • If you don't need crossfire then could you mix and match say a Radeon 6000 series and a 5000 or even possibly an ATI and a Nvidia card?

  • @priapus512

    True true.

    It should work.

  • @priapus512 I am not sure that is possible, the drivers for the cards are diffrent?

  • @djhummeluhr Windows 7 supports multiple GPU vendors, and as such, their drivers have to comply with that in order to be certified by MS. There's no reason it *shouldn't* work, unless OpenCL/CUDA screw up somehow in a way that the certification didn't catch :P

  • @priapus512 more trouble though. by far. If you can stay with one series, do it.

  • boys and their toys :P

  • @stellaconcepts it's fun stuff. You should try it.

  • @stellaconcepts

    Yep I love it! :)
