  • 20110614

  • Is there a version with the actual vocals anywhere?

  • The reason people disliked it wasn't because they were being unpatriotic, they disliked it because it's not the real lyrics.

  • This is the unofficial Navy Song.. Not official according to Navy Traditions on their website.. Excited for MEPS!!

  • This is awesome

  • @LegoMovieMan44 i thought tnt was used on land..............

  • @LegoMovieMan44 TNT makes enemy ships go kablooey...

  • @LegoMovieMan44 Trinitrotoluene; TNT is one of the most commonly used explosives for military and industrial applications.

  • i do not remember this song exactly this way in boot camp

  • ok people stop freaking out about the lyrics. the lyrics have been done and redone over and over throughout the years.

    google it or wiki it.

there was once a version that had like 3 verses and 2 bridges that aren't even in this one.

  • HELP I'M ADDICATED!

  • Ya gotta love to follow the bouncing ball!! Love this version

  • Very WRONG lyrics...

  • @kudosgirl No its not, these are the original lyrics.

  • @iamenjoi Then you should mention that somewhere on the page, because that just confuses people with the present lyrics.

  • @kudosgirl I'm not the person who uploaded the video?.....

  • Love this song so much. It was my grandfather's favorite song and of course, he was in the Navy. Makes me cry whenever I hear it, without fail. Anchors aweigh, Grandpa! Love you so much, and I'm sure you're saluting back from your ship up in heaven. =)

  • "Aweigh" means just like you say, getting them off the floor..."Atrip" is letting them go. Remember dolts; It's "Aweigh" not" Away".....

I have to explain this to the ignorant all the time! And I am an Army Vet!!

This song was written as a football fight song for the 1911 Army-Navy Game, the other lyrics came later, after WW 1....It started as "On Navy Down the Field"

    Dale in AL

  • This song is really tearing it between the US army navy I hate the navy so much!!!!

  • these are not the proper lyrics!

  • WRONG FUCKIN LYICS! NOWHERE IN THE NAVY LYRICS does the Navy hymys does it mention the Army (US Navy Sailor)

  • @GumbyAndrit its the full song not the little bit you sing in sixth grade...

  • @GumbyAndrit: Wrong! You are thinking of the official version adopted in the 1920's, this song was originally called "On Navy Down the Field" and written for the 1911 Army-Navy Game....I am an Army Vet and I knew that, so don't get worked up...Only after WW 1 did the Brass Hats decide to change the lyrics and adopt this as the Navy official song...

    Dale in AL

  • Can't wait for basic! 20110621

  • Guess the navy dislikes the army

  • At Boot Camp graduation the Marine Corps band played Anchors Aweigh, and then OUR song!

  • @MultiBaldEagle

that's because the marines fall under the secretary of the navy or secnav for short. makes the marines our little brothers. :P

  • @BrotherCadaveri ....Yes Sir. I know this. They always play the two songs in that order. They did it in 79 when I graduated Boot Camp at Parris Island and they did it in 2007 when my son became a MARINE. If you've ever heard the Parris Island Marine band do Stars and Stripes Forever, Anchors Aweigh and The Marines Hymn, in that order, it makes you swell up with pride.

  • @MultiBaldEagle

alright, it's surprising how many marines don't know that...figured i'd just make sure :P

  • Hong Kong 2012 Proposal Version

The proposal’s breaking down, really breaking down!
