  • this reviewer kind of annoyed me...

  • I "tri-ed" to play it but then I took a monster talon to the knee. :_(

  • I found the normal wii remote just satisfying enough

  • Switch axe is good on any boss

  • I'm just lovin this game

  • while im waiting for a new mh to come out in america, im still playing mh tri :)

  • Man this game is so awesome. I've played around 200hours and I'm nowhere near bored with it. The multiplayer is so well-done as well :D

  • @AlterBridgeJericho My time-play is 255 hours and im slowing down a bit due to the lack of monsters,it has 31 including small monsters and monster hunter unite has 61

  • @ltb08uk but there WAS online on the ps2 version lol. you think beating rathalos was a feat, should've seen lao or fatalis.

  • @SirDashdot thnx

  • Should I get this? Or dark souls? This is cheaper, have that in mind.

  • @MrDarktwister

Dark Souls and Monster Hunter Tri are both very difficult games but they're also quite different games.

I honestly think Dark Souls is a better game overall, it just has better and deeper gameplay overall, BUT that said, Monster Hunter Tri is still a very solid game for what it aims to deliver. But watch gameplay videos of both games and you'll see what you might prefer, they're fairly easy to judge based on gameplay videos.

  • @MrDarktwister What a tough fucking question. They're both similar in the way they approach combat, how hardcore and unforgiving it is, I mean. But I think you should go for DS if you want a more compelling single player option, but in multiplayer, MH really hits the damn nail on its head.

  • is this the only new monster hunter game that came out? i hope for frontier in america soon :( but is this the only new one that came out so far?

  • Oh it will b good but your ass will b kicked, over and over

  • I'm getting this game soon. I'm looking for a change of pace from my normal "go to" games, and I'm in the mood for an adventure. I'm a little worried that this game will kick my ass though...

  • This game takes skill

  • best online game on the wii lets hope Dragon Quest 10 will be better

  • played trough demon´s souls and enjoyed every minute of it, dont mind a challenge... :D played couple hours into monster hunter tri and it seems like an amazing game

  • Looks more like local fauna hunter tri. Some asshole going around killing animals.

  • @Scampjock No. All of the hunting quests have stories behind them.

  • The best series and the best game on the Wii.

  • gamespot is alot better than ign

  • Hey,I'm thinking about getting this game, but I have a question. I really don't know how all that online stuff works and my parents won't allow me to use the online mode. Will I still enjoy this game if I play only the single-player mode?

  • @gamingwonderboy now as for replay value it might have it with single player but single player is a long game so you'll get a lot out of it and online gives more so even without online you can still have a lot of fun you'll get a gallery and arena mode and just ot ask why cant you use online

  • @Dspamieng Okay thanks. I'll get this game then.

  • am i the only one who finds single player better then multiplayer? btw great review! i love this game. best in the series so far.

  • would have been great for ps3 or xbox.

  • @mixindave1 It's great on the wii

  • @mixindave1 everyone needs exclusives and i think its better on wii

  • @flameheat1000 yes but even if the game was identical on the ps3 but with the better graphics it would be nice. i dont have my wii any more so.... yep lol

  • @mixindave1 lol ik im just saying thats nintendo not includeing mario kirby and all they needed a new exclusive but there remaking this game for ps3 to tell you i just get mad at people saying it would be better on xbox or ps3 or they say it will suck on wii

  • wahahaha!!!

in my Monster Hunter Freedom Unite™

I already killed 20 white fatalis..!!

    that was pretty awesome right??

    XD

  • i really wanted to have that kind of game..

    but my psp is broken...T_T

  • just practice and im sure you'll get much better, i started out not knowing how to join a quest online mode (offline was a breeze) so i just asked people online for help

  • @ purplecat345 just like breakdown said, you do get better. I remember having trouble taking down a kut ku, and now I can take down the high rank monsters with great ease. But if you are trying to improve, I suggest NOT watching the guys playing in this video. They kind of suck

  • why does gamespot continue to show this overweight gay guy with the game hes reviewing in the backround and not full screen .. hes annoying as hell!

  • ´monster hunter is great

  • @Piephahn12 Hell yeah it is

  • I'm really good with the wiimote but thinkin about getting a classic control juss to try is it better?? Or should I juss keep hunting with my wiimote??

  • one of the best possible game purchases i made in my life. This game has an incredibly addicting system and literally everything you do is rewarding, even if you're just harvesting some mushrooms.

  • It seems like they've learned since Freedom Unite. I will correct him on the beginning. Those "issues" they talk about are the reason it has such a large fanbase (outside of America). Most of the reasons why those "issues"are better now can be attributed to the fact that it's on the console. There's a second analog stick and more shoulder buttons than the PSP, meaning better camera control. Still disappointed that it went to the Wii first. Can't wait for the PS3 port \m/

  • What is the obsession with using a classic controller? They do the same things..

  • @meesterdude some people just don't like the hang of holding 2 seperate components. I, myself, u a classic controller. I'm just not use to the motion movements.

  • Real MH3 Players use the Wii Remote

  • probably the most rewarding game ever!

  • this guy is good

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! HE OVERCOOKED THE STEAK!

  • You sure like fighting the royal ludroth don't you?

  • yay my favourite reviewer

  • Do you need other people's friend codes for online?

  • @MegaAnnoying1 nope u just select city from the game mode menu and ur online with random people

  • @BlackOpsGaming2011 Oh alright I was wondering about that. Thanks.

  • gosh I'm so scared to try this game! can some one answer my question!

DO YOU GET BETTER AT THIS GAME OR YOU HAVE TO BE A BOSS TO ]BE GOOD AT THIS GAME?

  • @purplecat345 As your equipment improves and you learn more about the monsters fighting patterns you get much better and it gets much more enjoyable. One of the best games I've played. Try it!!!

  • @smeer15 Thanks! I will! :D

  • @purplecat345 You will get better in the game!

  • @Yanhaomin01 thanks dude I never knew that a youtube comment could be positive for a change! :)

this game seems like a ton of fun

  • @purplecat345 You do actually get better, but its all about finding out which weapon fits you best. THATS when you start to get better. But this is no way a hindrance. The game is still spectacular and I highly recommend it for all the epic moments and non-stop action you have when fighting the massive beasts. Pick it up whenever you get the chance.

  • @felabugg1 Yeah I need to get a really good game for summer and this seems like a awesomely addicting game. I'll get the classic controller bundle!

thank you for an honest reply! :)

  • @purplecat345 No problem. Anything that helps people learn about this game and have fun with it.

  • @purplecat345 When you get the game send me a message telling me your friend info i want to play with you (no homo)

  • @FreshKiddLance yeah I guess going to have to wait three weeks though but I'll try to find you i guess....

  • @purplecat345 No it's not scary at all im new to the series and it's fine trust me =)

  • @hankotheman Good gosh I got this game but I'm watching the reviews and it had me worried. Oh my gosh thanks for a positive reply! :)

  • @purplecat345 np =)

  • @purplecat345 well i played the game and within an hour i became pretty good at it the controls are easy to master, and i was kinda ify about this game too but when i bought i loved, its a long game too beat but i suggest getting good before u take on bosses, but overall isay go and rent or get this game!

  • @purplecat345 you get better. but i highly reccomend you go in with the ability to laugh off the tutorial. rather than cling to what it has to say

  • @owlflame I got the game and yes the tutorials where quite hilarious if I do say so myself. :3

  • @purplecat345 i meant laugh off in the sense of " wow this tutorial taught me allot about the base mechanics. i guess now ill go fight my first boss annnd... HOLY SHIT IM DEAD!"

  • @owlflame oh I knew that and I guess when i get later on in the game I'll have moments of failure

  • @purplecat345 you get better as you progress and it gets a lot easier take it from me i bought the game a week ago as a bow gunner and it is really hard yet i am still able to hunt

  • @purplecat345 Haha already scared, they didnt even show the REALLY BIG monsters like the DIABLOS!

  • @purplecat345 Monster Hunter Tri is a very difficult game to learn. Since it was the first Monster Hunter I have played, I was frustrated with everything. However, once you get through the learning process, the game develops and you become great at it. As of this point, I am HR 88, and still play it. I highly recommend you buy it :).

  • @purplecat345 ...well i was pure shit at it at first but by playing the game and with a little help form the online mode, i got good, and i mean DAM good.

  • @SandSReviews thanks man I got the game around the 13th and I got to hand it to people like you it is a great game! :D

  • @purplecat345 What is fantastic about this game is that a level 1 can be as good as a level 20 or even better, because your skill playing that counts, your amor and weapon make easily killing harder monsters, but if you're really good you can do a lot withtout much equipment. With time you're bound to get better, and by observing monsters moves you get used to them and hunting them is easier

  • @purplecat345 lol when I first started I couldn't kill a kut ku in freedom 1. Look at me now, soloing G rank monsters in freedom unite and beating down Deviljhos and Alatreons in Tri. You get better, THEN you become a boss :P

  • @SmexeNinja now this is an answer! Thanks! Gosh I got this game a couple of weeks ago and I finally have time to invest in it.Yes my skills have improved! Great game and I love the gameplay!

  • @purplecat345 bit of both :P if your hardcore, your gonna find it easy, but if your not, then your gonna get slaughtered. but you will learn fairly quickly, just give it time and watch tutorials

  • @purplecat345

You basically have to commit to playing this game if you want to succeed. When i first started playing I could barely kill a rathalos who is a very low rank and easy monster. Now I consistently grind out kills on the highest rank version of him. You'll definitely being frustrated at first but it'll pass. This game is sorta like puberty I guess.

  • @77BreakDown77 Okay so it is I guess normal for a newbie to the series to have difficulty killing rank one quest monsters?

  • @purplecat345

No doubt, Monster Hunter is all about observing a monsters attack patterns and movements and working around them to get a kill. You definitely get better as time goes on though.

  • @purplecat345 trust me when I say this you will get better. When I started I was an absolute noob but now I can kill almost anything with ease. Once you find the weapon you are cofortable with you will get pro quickly. If you ever need help you could either go online or the the monster hunter wiki. And if you can't do offline just go online. I absolutely love this game and once you get into it I am sure you will too. ;D

  • @purplecat345 both, there are upgrades like new armor and weapons, but it still requires alot of skill. it's hard, but in a good way.

  • @purplecat345 its frustrating at first but once you figure out the dodging stuff it gets easier

  • @purplecat345 if you learn from your mistakes and arent a total retard you can play this game and be great at it

  • @purplecat345 this game is amazing, but its not for everyone, u do get gradually better at it, n when u master it you'll b feeling like a boss :D

  • @purplecat345 You will get better at this game as long as you play regularly

  • @purplecat345 Its real easy once you learn the controls. Also, use the Classic Controller Pro.

  • @purplecat345 Youll get better. you have to learn the tricks of the games, but after that, you just have to learn how monster act, after that u are set.

  • @purplecat345 With time you gte better, you learn the patterns of the monster and when its better to attack it,though it can be a little frustrating at first, but when you see your first big bad wyvern give its last breath it great

  • @purplecat345 It was my first monster hunter game, it was hard in the beginning but you will get used to it and it will be one of the best games you will ever play

  • @purplecat345 its a challenge, but its like demon souls if youve played it. at first you will suck horribly, then you get better and its a awsome game to sink time into, but it does take a lot of time to since, since missions can take a long time to finish...

  • @purplecat345 you'll get better . but believe me, you're going to die ALOT if your a first time player and get very frustrated. but you'll feel very rewarding after killing a big-ass monster

  • @killa60707 ha ur right ur going to have to get ALOT of practice when trying to kill a monster

  • @purplecat345 you will become a boss if you play this

  • @purplecat345

You get better - you start off with small fry and slowly get to the big guys. if you played DmC and passed it on at least dante must die, then the beginning will be cakewalk. Might have some trouble with your first "big" monster, but you'll manage as long as you don't freak out.

  • @purplecat345 Well this is a really hard game and you may feel frustrated some times.and it requires a lot of patience. But ones you get used to the gameplay and dificult you'll have a blast. And as you progress you'll be able you forge better weapons when you have the materials .I highly recomend this game.

  • @Mrcapo100 yeah. this game does take some patience. like the pattern of the monster's attacks.

  • Comment removed

  • i want to start a new file but i dont....

  • wow, as if theres an actual debate going on below this comment which hasnt thrown a single insult about moms and weight issues. one more reason nintendos better then Xbox and PS3: more mature audiences

  • @ultimateweena yeah real mature" oh nintendo fans are better cuz blah blah blah" how mature is it to steroetype gamers based on the sytems they game on? stfu dude

  • @ultimateweena dude your a retard go beat off to peach you fucking fagg oh yeah and fuck your ugly ass mother too bitch....

  • @villest1 once again with the immaturety? will you ever learn? the more you act immature, the more of a fool you look.

  • anyone wanna meet up and kill some monsters?

  • @starjae123456789 wat ur name and ID

  • @starjae123456789

Hell yea! I wanna kill that 1. big monster again, the one that looks like a raptor...

  • The game is amasing, but I wish it was with sony instead. Sorry Wii user's but I'd rather play a game with more content, and better connections and graphics, along with the use of a better mic

  • @MegaBuster777 I can't blame you hopefully the next Nintendo console will fix those problems.

  • @SectorCodec The main issue I see, is that nintendo focused too much on making a large into the future. To be honest, I'd much rather play a game that was using a better controller, like Xbox, and PS3, but they did attempt that with the classic controller. The thing is, is the game game out, the same time as the PS3, and about 1-2 year's after the Xbox, but didn't really improve much over the gamecube. Sure, it surpasses the first Xbox, and PS2, in playing ability, but not by much...

  • @MegaBuster777 Well you can't appeal to every gamer but I see what you're saying.

  • @SectorCodec I will admit I did have fun with the wii, but most games are for the child gamer. Anyway, this game Is great....lol, Look at all of my typo's and grammer errors....

  • @MegaBuster777 That's because raw power of hardware was never the point behind the Wii, nor was trying to make every game comparable to the competiton in spite of it. Frankly, a game like this is a testament to the fact that on at least a visual standpoint even, this game did not have to be put on a higher-end platform just to look good enough, and controlwise, any complaints are moot when accounting the Classic Controller Pro. There's a novelty to this game being a wii-exclusive

  • @BloodRawEngine89 Yeah, still don't see what's up with the Wii though. If MH3 is the only game worth getting, is it worth the 200 dollar system? Sure, you got twilight princess, but that's on the Wii. If I wanted to play a "classic" mario game, I'd play a classic mario game. If you want a game, but it's not motion oriented, but nintendo, then the Wii doesn't deliver. The whole motion thing should have been one of the feature's instead of that being the whole system. No offence to nintendo fans.

  • @MegaBuster777 Well aside from it being far from the only Wii game worth getting, you're looking at the motion control as an inherent detriment to gameplay unless completely ignored (like certain control schemes in this game). That's not the case. A game's motion control is meant to be handled with about as much emphasis as a button press, and there are more than enough titles on the Wii that do that, and are among the best titles. Ignoring execution of a game overall is just being biased

  • @BloodRawEngine89 On that note, while the best use of the Wii's controls are usually the ones in which the motion controls are more subtle and again, just as essential (but not moreso) than a button-press or a turn of the control stick, all you're doing is knocking the concept entirely when used as a non-optional aspect of a game's control scheme. That's not only impractical judgement, but it's also easily refuted when bringing up such games as Mario Galaxy, NMH, MadWorld, etc.

  • @BloodRawEngine89 So you're saying the Games they are making on the Wii are totally different then the ones on the N64, other then graphically changing them, and don't only have a slight scenery change? Weither that be the message I'm getting, or is being told, there are not many titles worth owning, that I can say "dude, this game is amasing. One of the best this year" and even though some may be like that, I doubt it. People say FF13's good and it's shit. "pardon the french"

  • if the gameplay is great, the story doesnt NEED to be good. i LOVE THIS GAME, the only qlarems i have are the online servers and the collection problems.

  • if anyone wants to play im hr 70 pm and ill send you my name and ID

  • @2488terror I'm D1 (for Destroyer1) I think i'm around hr 80 so if anyone wants to play, i'll be off and on for the weekends.

max536drago I don't believe so, and even if you could, I would WAY prefere the wii remote and nunchuck to that lol

  • @TheDistroyer95 ill see if i can look you up, im about sya 63 HR, and i am...well off and on in huge waves. im either obsessed with it and waking up early and stay up late to poewr level, or just avoid it in general. ill see if your around.

  • I need a Wii! :( Wish it would have came out for PS3 or Xbox.

  • someone tellk me can i use the gamecube controller with this game

  • I think so

  • can you play co-op during offline with your friends? please say yes i can

  • @max536drago Unfortunately, no. I assume you mean as in you've got a friend over and your playing together? If so, then you can't you can only do Arena mode which, well, is co-op but you can't go out and wander around with eachother.

  • @max536drago yes and no. the offline co-op is called arena mode, and it is basicly fighting monsters split screen in a small arena. its fun if you both are godly, but otherwise its frustrating and confusing as HELL.

  • @max536drago alternitevly, the online gameplay si great. you ahve your own screen. but be warned, if antying, capcoms online team must be narcoleptic, half the time the game wont connect with other players, the other half it will fail and mess up. i feel like tyhe game has a mind of its own, and most of the time it HATES MY GUTS SO MUCH.

  • este juego esta poca madre no me cansa jeje

  • This is by far the best game for the Wii when it comes to online. While during the story, I'm only at the first capture quest because I suck at capturing monsters, online I'm at HR 9 I think because I can't find anyone that can take down that giant monster that likes to roll around in dirt.

  • @Ryanmiller70 i can help u man, the barrath?

  • @FlameEgdelolz I think that's what it was called.

  • @FlameEgdelolz i was offering to help u online.....lmao

  • this looks alot like FFXI

  • be the best on XboX 360

  • @HRtruffles It's not even on xbox 360, dunce!!! It's only for wii!!!!! :D

  • @HRtruffles too bad :D

  • this is the best game ever "in my opinion"

  • this would be very good if it was on steam

  • lol 16 year old here saying that mario kart is still fun for parties and stuff, but id rather Mh3 cause im Hr 90 now and i Pwn

  • my cousin came to my house and he would stay here for like oh say 5 months and he had a wi and monster hunter so while he was student teaching and i had a snow day i "borrowed" it an just wow i played it and just wow so thats when i got it for my self. Good thing i kept that 25 dollar gift card to gamestop!

  • should i get this game or super smash bros brawl

  • @peter30509 get both.. =P

  • @Adriangpb seriously who plays this online the most plus if u have mario kart gimme ur code thingy

  • @peter30509 well if u havent played the game yet and besides mario kart mario kart how old are you three? I wanted mario kart when i was like 6 now im ten and i never play it unless my parants want to play with me. SO SUCK ON THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KolinTheKill i like mario kart you got a problem with that? go troll ur mother im 15 kid dont make me wedgie ur ass

  • @peter30509 dude both games Brawl and MH3 have tons of players, I would recomend brawl to play against friends or 1v1 cus its really laggy, mh3 has 0 lag, and its like a RPG on PC but on wii, I have both and I love both

  • 12 people are blind or doesent have hands OMg 5:41°°°°ludroth jump xD

  • 12 people are blind or doesent have hands

  • I've sort of invented my own story for this game.

Basically, I had the foresight to keep a "hunters journal" since this was my first monster hunter game. If you do the same and look back, it gets pretty interesting.
