Chicago ruled back in the days especially Trax Records, unfortunately their vynil pressings weren't that great, well not all of them, but their productions were to dye for especially this one, the sound & strings are so Egyptian like...AWESOME!!!!
hi realfresh, where is this track sourced from? - i recently bought the 12" of this thinking this version was on it - but it isnt! the instrumental version on my 12 begins with an acapella intro, then basically is just a drum track afterwards...very disappointing - this clip is the version i need... pls help if u can !

I bought this in "87" for that ridiculous break at 2:57. When I went back to the record store to get a second copy to keep bringing back that break, they were out. 17 years later, I finally found another one and that break is still bad to this day. Irvington/Newark, NJ still loves that early Chicago house sound!. Long live Zanzibar and oldskool DJ Tony Humphries on the radio from "83 thru "89 to me at his best.
THIS track...THIS track... reminds me of one of my best club experiences in NYC circa 1999. It was 7am and I was about to leave Club Shelter for work when this came on. YES...I stayed another 7 minutes lol.
we used to call this trance music back in the day.....not that crap they put out today.....its dark deep and funky....this is missing from todays music...when you listen to this and other chicago classics it takes your mind on a journey....no drugs needed
The vocal side of this joint used to get airplay on Tony Humphries' MasterMix Dance parties on WRKS FM ( 98.7 Kiss FM ..New York ) However,This instrumental was off the freakin chain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RealFreashBlog !
I remember Farley used to slow a mix down or start out with this tune, and I would be so hyped cause the bass and the synthesizers just took u there.....over there! no over there! no right there! where! right here in the true funk of the sense of the word. To the true hous heads stand up cause we are going to bring it back, so lets money-up and start a club......how much u got again?
NO way!!!!!! House Music all night long, in the Paradise Garage(we miss you Larry Levan) stand in line 4 hours to get in.....then dancin til 7- 8 am goin to McDonalds for breakfast hummin this tune down the street...then home by 11am, to sleep the day away......those were the days!!! Can ya feel me??? Thanks for posting!
@richspin2003 Or better still, after Mc Donalds you go to Wash. Sq. and hang out until Vinylmania opened and tried to buy the tracks you heard the night before while they were still fresh in your head!!!!

Have this track on the cassette of House Hallucinates, Pump up the world..always liked it a whole lot..and have a deeper appreciation of it with each passing year since 1988. Totally would love to find this on 12 inch...It sounds better for sure here than on the cassette..and no doubt better than the Trax 12 inch..famous for recycled vinyl with bits of paper stuck in the groove..Trax fans will relate to me on this statement..lol Still would love to have the Trax 12 inch..
sure, btu it's not always about that. it's more of a curiousity issue. also, the vocal version has like 2x more instrumental parts and they're awesome. but i agree, amnesia is amazing
does anyone have the FULL vocal version of this song? its way better in my opinion, and i can only find the version i have on the 20th anniversary comp by trax. anyone? please! i've been dying to hear the spoken word intro, which i can only sort of hear fading in on the compilation.
I just love this moody Chicago house. This is another eye opener for me. Fantastic. On the wantslist. How did I ever miss it? Come to think of it...how did I miss Crystalite? You are without doubt the deepest digger my friend!.
If people have an aversion against house or electronic music. PLAY THIS MONSTER TRACK, it'll cure them fast enough.
