Kramer was a total professional for the 6 months we worked together ? He did not smoke anything and was very health food conscious - so I dunno what your talking about that's not the Kramer I know ?
@punksnotddeadd i know some one who worked for him, he told me Eddie is a dustchbag, tried to kick him all the time, put his cigs out in ppls coffee let alone smoked in the studio, in the studio, man professional sound ppl know smoke ruins gear yet this punk smokes ganja and uses clients coffee cups as ash tray
oh yeah, he told one of his assistants once to buy him weed and when the assistant go arrested instead of trying to help he called a new student to be his goer, edds a nice guy, worth it
When it comes to studio mixing if I had the great fortune to be in a position of a Guitar Supernova I would pay Eddie Kramer whatever He wanted to assist me with my recording sessions.
Jimi Hendrix made me pick up the guitar. Eddie Kramer made me want to become an engineer. I would kill to assist him on a session and pick his brain.
@Guitarman777 yeah the biatch ants 50,000 dollars up front, expenses paid, he will say anything you want, watch some other youtube videos, he even told someone he would s u ck it
Kramer was a Huge fan of my improvisational talent and was opposed to me doing take after take in the studio ! He was the best for this type of guitar really honestly graceful and He understood exactly what to do with guitar solo's , how to edit and combine tracks to get a masterful take ! He loved the explosive and hated the contrived .The best take was a song called Lost souls that He said " let the guy solo and feature Him , He is a natural improv type player and works we'll in that forum ".
So, I guess that's a no, such a thing can't be done. I was just wondering because I can't imagine the frustration. Well, I've always said, if I ever win a mega-lottery (or otherwise find financial wealth), the first thing I'd do is round up certain musician/friends from my youth and make sure their music got to the world. You've been included on that list for years. Expect the call, but don't hold your breath.
Guitar From Hell! I was in a rock 'n' blues band when "American Man" came out and used to pull into rehearsals w/ Guitar From Hell fully cranked, just to annoy our old fart drummer.
Hey Johnny, why is the version edited on the cd? I think they left out the coolest stuff. Reminds me of when I saw you at the Paragon when you guys came out from LA.
The first day of recording with Eddie Kramer was a pre/production day to achieve as it's main function different guitar sounds to put together the recording endeavor that was before us which was quite an under taking to say the least !
We were having so much fun on the first day getting these incredible huge guitar sounds with about 7-8 marshall heads 100 watt that we actually never got around to the thrash sounds that day but I remember that we were all inspired at the end of the day !
needless to say we recorded 8-9 hours of guitar sounds that were not for any purpose but as reference so that we don't waste time in the studio trying to figure out how to get the 1,000 lb. tone like we captured here in suffice to say on that warner / reprise release !
After the record was finished Kevin the drummer said " you need to find some of that stuff and edit it cause no body is as monstrous any where as that " so in about an hour of playing around with sounds from that day out popped guitar from Hell ! Eddie Kramer is great with guitar hero type stuff that is why I fought to get him on the record ! He did not let me down with any guitar that we recorded !Genius meets genius ! If I do say (humbly) myself ! Thanks Eddie !
where in LA did you do most of the recording? I live out here now, san diego actually. You might remember me, I'm jeff deasel's friend. I think that paragon gig was the last I saw you. Before the gig, you came over to mark thompson's house in rockville. I think his band opened for you guys... Do you still play gigs?
if you have the cd power trio from hell it's all meticulously listed from omega studios in rockville (where this was recorded ) to alpha studios in burbank and in new york and in LA at over 20 some studios !
this was a big budget recording an no exspense was spared to capture the sounds and make the best record we could ! We succeeded at making that happen and failed at the making it big due to mismangement at the hands of the cavallo's both Father and son who didn't know how to handle such talent like the trio ! Still the greatest (unsung) power trio to ever grace the scene !
You would be amazed at the incompetence of the bloated fat theives that are basically in charge so to speak in that industry ?! Rippin off the band , getting kickbacks from the studios they booked us in ! charging the band 2,000.00 dollars aday out of the recording budget and getting back a thousand dollars aday keeping us in there for 2 years stealing as much as they possibly could ! Then bailing on the band when it came time to release the cd ! Theives and untalented crooks !
Men with no integrity , look at the dung they put out and promote so feverishly !? Goo Goo Dolls ? Green day ?! Who put these guys in charge of anything ?! That's what they are so proud of ?! useless dribble from musicians who can't sing or play . Men without the blessings of God upon their Souls where lost souls keep walking never finding rest set aside for the fire that burns excruciating torturish but never consumes ! Please forgive them Lord Jesus ! Repent Bob and Rob !
I hope that they both figure out the doom of their crooked and corupt ways , No joke they need to sell everything they own and give it to the poor cause their God is money and their bizz is how can I steal more of it ! These guys are sick ! Seriuosly , after all they stole Rob even stole my guitar and old 100 watt marshall amp
I am sorry that they ripped you off Johnny. Yes, it seems that all of LA and quite possibly california is consumed with greed. I have heard about the way they eat up record budgets and fail to promote their artists as well. Yes, I do have the cd American Man. Did you use a marshall plexi? I remember you had a 2 speaker cabinet possibly that you made yourself?
yes all recordings were done with 1969 -72 marshalls 100 watt and 4 - 15 home made and several 4 - 12 cabs I think will Rogers told me to try a soldano 100 watt I may have used that on slowly rolling !
I purchased the cd american man from a record store down in florida. That must have been at least 17 years ago. Do you have any other recordings? Independent releases maybe?
Yes ! There is an amazing blues CD that I recorded called boogie man that frankly ... well lets just say nobody dead or living has got anything on this type of powerhouse blues ! If you want e-mail me at johnnytsak at hotmail dot com and we can figure out how you can get it !
That's great!! I can't wait to hear some more of your music. I really appreciate you willingness to talk with me. It's very seldom that a virtuoso musician is a friendly person as well... I will send you an email soon....
Great to see you Johnny! Does this mean that there is a chance to catch you playing live anywhere?
I dropped into Jimmy's last night for the first time in a long time, and I've got to admit I can't stop thinking, "maybe he'll show up" Never got to hear enough of your own tunes live.
A ukulele with a old pedal steel guitar pick up through 100 old rca phonograph record players you know the one with the rca dog sitting in front of it !
