I was happy with most of the final cast of the show, but Mimi and Roger were a big disappointment. Roger's voice was too broadway-sounding, and it doesn't fit the character at all.

Awesome. Rent was the first generational musical after Hair and for me, back in the 96, was an inspiration for measure my life in love.

Thanks for posting this, almost 12 years later it made me cry,like i was watching it for the firts time.

That's pretty harsh. You have to be talented to be a working actor on Broadway, and respect that he works hard and plays that character around 8 times a week. That being said, he was my least favorite of the main characters, but in no way was he bad. I'd say a bit underwhelming, maybe.

the good thing is that community theaters, regional theaters have the rights to do the show now. and since it's a low-budget and popular show, MANY companies across the country (and the world) will be producing this show. There's even a school edition available now. So there's a BIG chance that you'll be able to be in a production of Rent. :)
