Hey of all places I found driving in Roma challenging and competitive but the Italians are no way near as horrible as the Australians or Yanks on the road. At no time did I feel like I would be assaulted for a road dispute where as in America or Australia people think the road belongs to them. I congratulate the Italians for their ability to argue, dispute and then get on with their lives.
@randomfreak09 Then he is not Italian...he was probably from somewhere else...could be any number of immigrants. Italians don't spit...we consider it a very big offence and you get arrested for assault if you do. It's not our way...if someone spat at me I would beat the fucking shit out of him. Only animals spit...
I have received several VERY unpleasant remarks from Italians. Apparently they find this video clip to be offensive (wonder why?). This situation could have occurred in any major city in the world; it just so happened that it was in Rome this time, and I happened to have my camera handy. Lighten up, Romans! I'm not here to disparage you!
@CalifaJohn: While the Northern Italians sometimes wish to cut southern Italy off their country because they like their south so much you say "The Europeans" - i hope you understand that there are more than a dozen of countries, languages and cultures in Europe - not even one country is homogeneous. It would be easy here to repeat the prejudice that U.S. Americans have no idea about the world or Europe but i cannot as even as a European i have no big idea - despite all efforts.
@francoelfrida: i agree, not offensive, i even like the way you have your quarrels. Loud, directly, short and it's over. And you know there when it is enough.
"people don't always respect traffic laws, but it has nothing to do with this Italy=Mafia stereotype" Italy, the land of excuses. "Not respecting the laws" is a sport in Italy and it is the start of what is standing to the right of your equation.
Btw: who elected your president? Somebody else? He's a shame for your country !
@timbolester Well I am - they are arrogant and stupid if they can't see beyond their Roman noses and realise that you've every right to show whatever you like about Italian culture.

@randomfreak09 Italians have almost no perception of social shyness, they really don't care.

Maybe they just want others to think that the Italians are perfect.

It has been my experience that Europeans want to convince everyone that they are perfect.

It is so true that generalizations are generally false.

I don't find this video clip offensive in any way... It made me smile actually! But please remove silly comments like "Cosa Nostra"...
I know traffic in Rome is chaotic and people don't always respect traffic laws, but it has nothing to do with this Italy=Mafia stereotype.
Cheers from Italy! :)))
