I have read very inappropriate comments and insults on social networking sites, comments that people would never say face 2 face. Should people really have that much freedom ? A guy who insulted a suicide victims family on YouTube was jailed. There are always restrictions on what we can say and do. Hopefully these test cases will serve as a warning to the irresponsible people who fire away abuse and incitement without thinking. China's caution may be responsible.
Not just China is prohibiting people of certain freedom. All country does this just differently. Look at America, you can be a born America citizen your free to choose to join the military or not but they make you sign a drafting document when your 18 (mandatory). A guy who insulted a suicide victims family on YouTube was jailed. There are always restrictions on what we can say and do. Hopefully these test cases will serve as a warning to the irresponsible people who fire away abuse and incitement without thinking. China's caution may be responsible.

Sorry Journeyman. I live in China and use a VPN to access Youtube. It's not bad but doesn't handle high-resolution videos very well.
So, when I discovered that I need to watch a High-res commercial to earn the right to watch your video, I decided not to bother.
I seriously doubt I'm the only person to experience this problem. Commercials may help your funding but they also turn people away.

@Djkaplin no maybe i should clarify. I'm recording a video of sites around a city or interviewing people...people in civilian clothes will ask me questions concerning what i'm doing and why. Other countries wouldnt have a problem with that since you're obviously a foreigner touring the city and talking to natives about what you're seeing.

I don't know what all this bickering is about but let me tell you my side of the story. I was born in China, but grew up in the U.S. I have been back 3 times to visit family. Every time I go back, I thank the heavens that I live in the U.S. I love this country, the freedoms, the rights, etc. I truly hope the U.S. never becomes like the totalitarian regime of China. Some people will tell you otherwise, but I will tell you that the U.S. is the greatest country on Earth.
