@alanshanelewis I don't want an iPhone four because of the antenna problem, I shouldn't have to use a case for my phone to work properly, and I don't want the 3GS because I want to purchase a current generation phone. If I knew they'd fixed the antenna problem I'd get an iPhone 4 over this just because of all the apps I've purchased.

As we speaking I'm trying to cover it to see if the bars go down and nothing. But the new Windows phones do look tempting i'm still on the fence with them over screen sensitivity.

im still waiting out for the psp 2 to make any decision on what is the best gaming device in terms of the handheld market. as for ui i think this is an incredible device and the integration with windows and xbox will not be matched by another os. a android powered psp would be an incredible gaming device with its sony specific hardware like the mobile cell processor and most likely ps store integration. id prefer a integrated system with my ps3 over my xbox

@JoeyTheKillerjtk give it time. i think above all that the hardware will let down devices like iphone and wp7 and most android devices. real gaming is not achieved on this hardware. we need some real power coming from sony to see a handheld device that is truly good at gaming. i just hope sony dont cut corners on hardware. they need to use the same types of ideas in the psp that was developed for the ps3. i.e mobile cell processor. so we can get 4 core threads for much better graphics

There's a whole wealth of information on the Windows Phone start screen, even without tapping on the tile. With i-phone, you have to leave the start screen just to view one type of information.

Wow, "functionality" aside, they really should revisit their UI - waaaay too much scrolling to access/see all options.
The UI is just plain ugly as well - I'm pretty sure customers who have become accustomed to the customisation provided by Android and the iPhone would like to be able to change more than just colours.
Scrolling through a hundred tiles isn't efficient or enjoyable and header-titles being cut off may be "artsy" but it isn't very useful.
@Resvrgam personally I like the UI, it's clean and responsive. I'm not that big on the 'cutesy icon'-based UI of Android and iOS, this kind of system is something that makes more sense to me. I'm no fan of MS and couldn't care less about xbox but I like what I've seen of this phone so far.
There's no more or less customisation here than on the iPhone. I don't remember being able to customise my iPhone background beyond the startup screen. Android yes but the iPhone UI bg is always black.
nope. phone generation has nothing to do with it. It's the os which enables it. And as far as i know iOS 4 can be installed on an iphone 3g too (even if it's slow and crippled).
@wilde77 the iPhone 3g doesn't get the wallpaper feature nor the multitasking. Phone generation as in hardware, does matter since it needs a fast processor to run fully.
That it doesn't support multitasking it's obvious since the cpu is slower. As for the custom wallpapers, the hardware has nothing to do with it. The decision not to include light features like custom wallpaper is just to get people to upgrade their phones...
@OrangeEarths Actually, windows phone 7 is only said to have a 1ghz processor with graphics hardware accceleeration required. This points to the snapdragon being the minimum.
@Resvrgam Its the same amount of scrolling as any other OS. The start screen shouldn't have a lot of icons so that shouldn't be an issue, and the list will most likely have a jump list. On the iPhone, all you can do is move icons and change the wallpaper. Not much customization there. Should headers be useful besides telling you where you are? They serve their purpose in telling you to keep scrolling.

It has a better driver for the snapdragon so it actually utilizes the gpu so it can play games smoothly. It has superior office, exchange, media, and social integration.
Xbox is so closed off you can play multiplayer on windows 7 phone vs you're xbox vs PC humm valve pull your finger out and stop making excuses and give xbox steam cloud
They should allow customization of the icon's just like you can on a PC cause yes, the sub-menus do look gorgeous(e.g. the pix, xbox live, etc). I want a cool icon for my phone dial. I don't think it'd affect updates cause PC's push updates all the time and my settings/backgrounds/icons all stay the same.

About W7 now. I'm still wondering why the home screen is so UGLY (it's minicrapistic, not minimalistic), when all the other sub-menus do positively look GORGEOUS ?
Still I'm expecting some trouble with Winphone7. What if you don't have loads of friends? Take Windows' Media Center. The interface is really sexy, but without tons of content on your hd, you quickly find yourself wandering aimlessly in emptiness.
You can fill it up with other things, like bookmarks, apps and hubs. I think these tiles will evolve over time, but I like the minimalistic* look of it all.

fail microsoft make a great os but suck on phones still its a start i would ike to microsoft get a lookin on the mobile phone market but for me its all about hardware features on the phone and a good enough os hmm android is a good start. so i want android 3.0 and a samsung galaxy s 2 thats the phone for me.. hope they can put better optics into a phone and better battery life..

Wow, "functionality" aside, they really should revisit their UI - waaaay too much scrolling to access/see all options.
The UI is just plain ugly as well - I'm pretty sure customers who have become accustomed to the customisation provided by Android and the iPhone would like to be able to change more than just colours.
Scrolling through a hundred tiles isn't efficient or enjoyable and header-titles being cut off may be "artsy" but it isn't very useful.
Besides, I have zero faith in MS.

@Resvrgam personally I like the UI, it's clean and responsive. I'm not that big on the 'cutesy icon'-based UI of Android and iOS, this kind of system is something that makes more sense to me. I'm no fan of MS and couldn't care less about xbox but I like what I've seen of this phone so far.
There's no more or less customisation here than on the iPhone. I don't remember being able to customise my iPhone background beyond the startup screen. Android yes but the iPhone UI bg is always black.

nope. phone generation has nothing to do with it. It's the os which enables it. And as far as i know iOS 4 can be installed on an iphone 3g too (even if it's slow and crippled).

@wilde77 the iPhone 3g doesn't get the wallpaper feature nor the multitasking. Phone generation as in hardware, does matter since it needs a fast processor to run fully.

That it doesn't support multitasking it's obvious since the cpu is slower. As for the custom wallpapers, the hardware has nothing to do with it. The decision not to include light features like custom wallpaper is just to get people to upgrade their phones...

@OrangeEarths Actually, windows phone 7 is only said to have a 1ghz processor with graphics hardware accceleeration required. This points to the snapdragon being the minimum.

@Resvrgam Its the same amount of scrolling as any other OS. The start screen shouldn't have a lot of icons so that shouldn't be an issue, and the list will most likely have a jump list. On the iPhone, all you can do is move icons and change the wallpaper. Not much customization there. Should headers be useful besides telling you where you are? They serve their purpose in telling you to keep scrolling.
No one cares about your faith in Microsoft.

The UI reaaaly looks similar ti the horrible Kin O_o , and the phone is ... kinda bulky. Don't get me wrong , I think W7m it will be a OK for a medium tier phone and OS but i trully still prefer Android ( long live my Nexus ).

@torrasque2007 no, it's high end my misinformed friend. You'd have to be kidding yourself if you wont admit we have some shit app developers for Android. Most of them have poor design or don't meet up to its iPhone counterpart. Windows phone already has a superior games library at launch.
It has a better driver for the snapdragon so it actually utilizes the gpu so it can play games smoothly. It has superior office, exchange, media, and social integration.

They should allow customization of the icon's just like you can on a PC cause yes, the sub-menus do look gorgeous(e.g. the pix, xbox live, etc). I want a cool icon for my phone dial. I don't think it'd affect updates cause PC's push updates all the time and my settings/backgrounds/icons all stay the same.

Many thanks to the RGB team for what might be today's very best WP7 hands on.
About W7 now. I'm still wondering why the home screen is so UGLY (it's minicrapistic, not minimalistic), when all the other sub-menus do positively look GORGEOUS ?
Still I'm expecting some trouble with Winphone7. What if you don't have loads of friends? Take Windows' Media Center. The interface is really sexy, but without tons of content on your hd, you quickly find yourself wandering aimlessly in emptiness.
