My favorite Final Fantasy is probably FFVI or maybe VII. But, I will agree that FFX is easily the most visually stunning FF game I have played, on top of having an awesome soundtrack.
If FFX had been less linear, it would have easily been my favorite FF game ever. I prefer more open-ended games where I can explore more.

(I would come to his house, train for hours, and as much as he would tell me to just beat the game, I wouldn't) So eventually he said " I'm not going to watch you train all day." The funny thing about it, he could never beat the game with his file, but when he used mine... he said "that boss was sooooo easy, you could have beat him anytime." I know this sounds crazy but they can't put this on the 360?

The last great Final fantasy. Japs are great at making good game series, but TERRIBLE to end one. Final fantasy is now gone, Metal gear solid is now gone, Resident evil is also gone too. 3 great game series that died throughout the 2000's..they should listen to their gamers more and stop milking their series with bullshit to get cash, and try to get some real masterpieces that has not been seen for years.
@MegaAlienist 2002? You're off by about four years. Final Fantasy XI and XII were amazing games and hardly worthy of sending the series to its grave. Disliking MMOs is not reason enough to disregard FFXI's quality and success and there are countless reasons why FFXII was not only a great entry in the series, but also what they should have built on in the years to follow.
I'd also disagree that FFXIII and XIV have undone 20 years of excellence. See: Type-0, Versus, other spin-offs.
I don't understand why everyone's bagging on FFXIII. I, for one, enjoy the game and the music. Nobuo has been in the business for a LONG while, and while his compositions are superb, I think it's time for him to get a break. Everything changes eventually, even Final Fantasy.

Last epic game in the history of Final Fantasy. Imo. Maybe FFVersus will be our last hope, but stil i cant imagine it to be as good as X was back then. And even today it is still one of the most epic games ever created. Tell your children about this fantastic game.

@Okamii007 All the Persona games have their own characters and plots, so I think its ok when you start with any Persona game you like. Personally I will play the series in a chronological way P2IS/EP -> P3 -> P4 -> P4u -> P5.

that may be true but to be honest spirits within wasnt a bad movie at all (at least not worse than most movies in general). IMO it was way better than Advent children with Cloud jumping sky high and all that other anime chlichéd nonsense and fanservice. Srsly why would Cloud have to run all the way up to the top floor of the shinra building in FF7 when he could have just leaped over it? I think Spirits Within doesnt deserve that much hate.

At least the FF14 ost sounds pretty amazing. No where near as good as FF1-10 though. I think one of the good composers is doing the FF14 ost, if you haven't already, give it a listen, it's worth it. :)
Its stupid that Square Enix are making a sequel to the poorest final fantasy(FF13) and they are not considering making a prequel to FF10 or a remake of FF7. ah well, maybe in a few years when they get off the weed...or get back on it again.
God this game is so good. Though, playing this game is somewhat of a curse; all other Final Fantasies fail in comparison to this one, so when I played Final Fantasy 13...well, I just couldn't sit through the game for more than 2 hours, since it just made me want to play FF 10 so badly.
I never had the fortune to play those games. When I refer to failing FFs, I mean the newer ones. This was the one me and my brother got our hands on, and since our first real console was the PS2, it was only natural that we played the crap out of it.
Oh yea, and we also got Kingdom Hearts as well. Either way, it's safe to assume I was limited to what my parents bought us. Perhaps there's a bit of nostalgia in me that makes this game seem better than it is.

Every console generation has a Final Fantasy that grabs them. I grew up with Final Fantasy VII. But This game is a CLOSE second. I loved this game to DEATH and still do to this day.
This was the first game where the grapics, The animation, The voice acting, The storyline and The music were outstanding.... When i first played this game i weeped when i found out yuna was going to die...... Its games like this that will live forever!
Squareenix need to remaster this and XII on one disc in HD for the PS3. If only for the fact that my PS3 has my only excellent audio system and I want to hear the soundtracks in all their glory(as well as the graphics).

I remember being able to break the 9999 limit that seemed standard and being blown away. The only problem with FF10 was the feeling that it was linear. Other then that it was one of the best RPG's of all time.
I have exams coming up right now. i take history, film and english literature. apparently the minimum amount i should be aiming to write is 3 sides of A4 paper. to be honest, i will probably not manage that - but if they were to ask em to write an essay on the final fantasy series, i could churn out probably around 10 sides easy. god i love these games.

@OlgaFlowDivine I can agree with you to some extent at least. No world map in FFX, linear and such. But on the other hand you still had an enchanting storyline with characters you came to love. The music was superb and although at times it was too many videosequences it still had the appeal. FFXII did not invoke any emotions in me whatsoever and XIII is just another SE multigame created to make more money. I miss the good old days of Squaresoft. At that time the games truly meant something

Its stupid that Square Enix are making a sequel to the poorest final fantasy(FF13) and they are not considering making a prequel to FF10 or a remake of FF7. ah well, maybe in a few years when they get off the weed...or get back on it again.

God this game is so good. Though, playing this game is somewhat of a curse; all other Final Fantasies fail in comparison to this one, so when I played Final Fantasy 13...well, I just couldn't sit through the game for more than 2 hours, since it just made me want to play FF 10 so badly.

I never had the fortune to play those games. When I refer to failing FFs, I mean the newer ones. This was the one me and my brother got our hands on, and since our first real console was the PS2, it was only natural that we played the crap out of it.
Oh yea, and we also got Kingdom Hearts as well. Either way, it's safe to assume I was limited to what my parents bought us. Perhaps there's a bit of nostalgia in me that makes this game seem better than it is.

Every console generation has a Final Fantasy that grabs them. I grew up with Final Fantasy VII. But This game is a CLOSE second. I loved this game to DEATH and still do to this day.

This was the first game where the grapics, The animation, The voice acting, The storyline and The music were outstanding.... When i first played this game i weeped when i found out yuna was going to die...... Its games like this that will live forever!

Squareenix need to remaster this and XII on one disc in HD for the PS3. If only for the fact that my PS3 has my only excellent audio system and I want to hear the soundtracks in all their glory(as well as the graphics).

I'm glad i had the chance to play this game. It was good. better than i expected. this song sorta reminds me of chrono trigger. anyhow the story is what kept me going. i mean some fools say other stuff is what makes a rpg. give me a good story that will make me think about it for years and years and damn i will respect you son. We know how square soft do :)

I remember being able to break the 9999 limit that seemed standard and being blown away. The only problem with FF10 was the feeling that it was linear. Other then that it was one of the best RPG's of all time.

I have exams coming up right now. i take history, film and english literature. apparently the minimum amount i should be aiming to write is 3 sides of A4 paper. to be honest, i will probably not manage that - but if they were to ask em to write an essay on the final fantasy series, i could churn out probably around 10 sides easy. god i love these games.

@OlgaFlowDivine I can agree with you to some extent at least. No world map in FFX, linear and such. But on the other hand you still had an enchanting storyline with characters you came to love. The music was superb and although at times it was too many videosequences it still had the appeal. FFXII did not invoke any emotions in me whatsoever and XIII is just another SE multigame created to make more money. I miss the good old days of Squaresoft. At that time the games truly meant something
