wiiMC is my favorite app other then my emulators i like watching download movies from a usb thumb drive instead of having to burn them to dvd and '' ORB'' is worth a look also you can stream video from your computer through a free internet server call orb and watch on your wii through your internet browser works on i phone also

@RagdollDiegokiller i assume u are talking about bootmii. If it lets u install bootmii as boot2 it means that boot mii will start up everytime u turn on your wii if you have an sd card inserted

@909sober homebrew is for running custom apps and backup(pirate) games search for dxhowto on how to soft mod your wii , dont update teh software :) hope this helps if you cant find it message me ill link it

@909sober hey, a homebrew channel is a channel that lets you run applications from your wii which you usually wouldnt be able to do. i can give you examples such as wad manager, which from what i no, you can only install through the homebrew channel. the wad manager lets you install a load of things like getting free internet browser and stuff like that. on the homebrew channel you can also install emulators to play gba games. hope this helped everyone.

Homebrew is good for like emulators, media, hacks, cheats.

The homebrew channel has no security risks unless you get like title deleters, or back up programs, only download games and emulators from homebrew mostly if you download anything else you have a chance of bricking your wii.

MPlayer CE is for sure, Bootmii is too, I'm going over the list again.Gecko OS is unless you make a very dumb mistake like dowmgrade the Wii System Menu and then run a game with a stubbed system menu IOS, which would brick your Wii. Bootmii would save you though. WAD Manager is very unsafe bu very useful User friendly but install a bad wad or uninstalling one is the most common cause of brick.

cIOScorp is also very unsafe. DVD Dumper is safe. VBA GX is safe. So is Wii Earth. Dop IOS is kinda safe, be careful with it. Knowing how the Wii works and bootmii is the best antibrick protection.

I have 1 Wii SD card with 2 full pages of games (40 games around), all these apps and then some (like and then a lot some), many IOS stuff and I have still 1,500 blocks of space. This is a 1 gig card.

Get a 2 gig card and your fine. Don't get larger because you don't want SDHC because old games dont recognize it.

Yes, you can have new apps. Preloader is the only thing that doesnt work if it was previous installed but thats to be expected, since preloader actually uninstalls the system menu, it can cause issues...

Do not get an LU64 Wii or above, because the fixes for it can sometimes brick your Wii, and it still often has less functionality. Keeo under LU64 whenever possible.

Ok thnx for the warning. I have no clue why but wenever I go to the my music section & click on delfino plaza it freezes so I figured it was just the wii doing it. It also sometimes stops loading wen im in all-star mode & the game randomly tells me disk cant be read out of nowhere lol.

I'm not to familiar with ISO, WAD, & the likes. The most I can tell you is that I use textures on brawl more than anything else. If itll help I can tell you that whenever I try to load the Fierce diety texture for link the game always freezes & im 100% sure I did everything right. My wii didnt start doing this until I used that texture for link & thats all I kno.

Ok terminology to hacker/intense WIi stuff.

ISO- An image of a game disc thats an exact replica.

IOS- A program module which is something the game or system menu runs off.

cIOS- A custom IOS that allows new functionality, mainly backup disc loading (ISO's burned with image mate).

WAD- The way channels and IOS's are installed on your Wii. Generally they are on the game disc (the update part of the disc) but Waninkoko made a program so you can install them yourself.

That means using cIOScorp you can play any and all backups because it creates custom IOS's that allow the game to recognize burned discs. However, those with update stuff will not recognize them so you need starfall or Startpatch so it skips that check.

Wad's can let you install cIOS's or more, including free VC games and other stuff illegally.
