I work in the care sector with people with mental health problems and am thinking of taking up counselling full time. I am motivating myself to start the course and have registered on a basic course that runs for 10 weeks. i will give it a go and might take a more advanced course later

These lectures are of great help. I'm studying by correspondence, with no contact with tutors except by e-mail and things can get tough at times. I'm reading Egan's The Skilled Helper at the moment. But listening about the these interesting advices makes my studies a lot easier. Thank you so much to put these lectures together, You have no idea how valuable they are. thank you again. Fanny.

I am coming from pretty much the same place as the previous commentator, and have never experienced quite such helpful guidelines before. OHSNAP31: you need to go back to the core values of counselling, such as not giving advice! What ever happened to respect for an idividual and being impartial and non-judgemental. May I ask why you think your comment was helpful to him, or others?
