  • where is the best place to buy carbon fiber if you are going to make a mold yourself. Basically what is a good price for the raw material?

  • what type of roller was that?? just any paint roller?

  • It is a resin roller. Basically it is a metal tube with fins or grooves. It allows the air to escape.

  • oh ok, thanks for the tip!!

  • sorry...I mean 3 layers of carbon fiber?...is thats how it supposed to be?..

  • so they used two coats of carbon fiber?..

  • your a power fagget y ya cut someone down hes just passing on his knowledfe

  • I want to make just a carbon fiber inlay. Can anyone tell me how thinnest carbon fiber can go 1/8th inch? 1/16th?

    Thanks

  • the smallest i have seen while browsing was .008 inch (120th of an inch roughly) as a .0162 is a 64th and .032 is 32nd

  • thanks for the education... good job on the education but footage wasnt great

  • tell me where u got all these Carbon Fiber epoxy --what ever you use for Molding--I remember--Back in Soviet Union--they used to Wrap The gaz Pipe Lines with the Elastic Materials -- That was Fireresistant and fucking was so strong we couldnt even cut -

  • CARBON FIBER IS AWESOME

DONT INSULT IT IN FRONT OF ME

honestly, its 3x stronger than steel and 3x times lighter---What more could you ask for???

  • 3x stronger than steel and 3 times lighter than ALUMINUM, not just 3 times lighter than steel.

  • so what isi2isi67 is sayin is that if you use the roller he used it causes that to happen so use a squeegees instead to prevent this?

  • I was taught that using an air roller caused micro fractures to the carbon. They were verboten in the shop that I use to work for.Squeegees were used to consolidate the lamination instead.

  • Thx for the tip. Maybe that's why Tygaboy made sure we only made cosmetic (not structural) parts for our practice.

  • WARNING: When using epoxy resin ALWAYS wear a MASK, it's TOXIC!

  • Epoxy is nearly 100% solids and not volatile. I think you are confusing polyester resins with epoxy. You can become sensitized by epoxy by repeated skin contact but there are virtually no vapors thus no threat by inhalation.

  • only the swarf is toxic and may cause cancer... of course youre not supposed to drink epoxy, but a mask isnt necessary

  • Thanks everybody!

  • Awesome series of vids!

    Thak you.

  • Shitty made video

  • Ah come on! Its one of the most if not the most helpful movie out there concerning carbon fibre!

  • ass, it's a good video.

  • I'd have to say it was kind of a bad video. The educational aspect is good, but it's not much for promoting visual comprehension. Also, I'd suggest facing the instructor next time.
