tell me where u got all these Carbon Fiber epoxy --what ever you use for Molding--I remember--Back in Soviet Union--they used to Wrap The gaz Pipe Lines with the Elastic Materials -- That was Fireresistant and fucking was so strong we couldnt even cut -
I was taught that using an air roller caused micro fractures to the carbon. They were verboten in the shop that I use to work for.Squeegees were used to consolidate the lamination instead.
Epoxy is nearly 100% solids and not volatile. I think you are confusing polyester resins with epoxy. You can become sensitized by epoxy by repeated skin contact but there are virtually no vapors thus no threat by inhalation.
I'd have to say it was kind of a bad video. The educational aspect is good, but it's not much for promoting visual comprehension. Also, I'd suggest facing the instructor next time.

where is the best place to buy carbon fiber if you are going to make a mold yourself. Basically what is a good price for the raw material?

what type of roller was that?? just any paint roller?
TWEEDSUCKS 3 years ago
It is a resin roller. Basically it is a metal tube with fins or grooves. It allows the air to escape.

I want to make just a carbon fiber inlay. Can anyone tell me how thinnest carbon fiber can go 1/8th inch? 1/16th?
Thanks
mattamiller 3 years ago
the smallest i have seen while browsing was .008 inch (120th of an inch roughly) as a .0162 is a 64th and .032 is 32nd

so what isi2isi67 is sayin is that if you use the roller he used it causes that to happen so use a squeegees instead to prevent this?

Thx for the tip. Maybe that's why Tygaboy made sure we only made cosmetic (not structural) parts for our practice.
