Yes, his peak was in the 90's but the man has done it all. Played punk in the early 80's, Lollapalooze in '91, Woodstock in '94, and played with Black Sabbath. That's only a few of his accomplishments and he continues to kick ass in life.
its a great interview, because the interviewer doesnt interupt Henry. He asks a question and Henry gets to speak untill he is done with the question. Most interviewers dont seem to shut up :/
It's a interview climate swedish public tv has build up throughout the years - No commercial intressts to be satsfied, no loudmouthed reporters who need to ''entertain'' the viewers by being loud mouthed and obnoxious.
I never noticed it before, but what you said about Rollins looking like Richard Dean Anderson is dead on. My favorite song of Rollins' is "Liar". And it SEEMS Rollins is someone who appreciates honesty. But who knows? It's hard not to be cynical about celebrities nowadays.
The interviewer is very weak - he can't make a good question and seems to be very tense. An usual musician, atrist, celebrity - whatever, wouldn't give a fuck about the conversation and just make it a lot shittier. But what Rollins does here is just fantastic - turns what should be a complete disaster into an absorbing monologue. Always a pleasure to listen to this guy.
If he would just look into quantum physics, relativity and chaos theory, maybe he would understand why intelligent design makes some sense, and that it doesn't have to be religious, racist or homophobic at all, we are talking about science. The question Henry should be asking would be how did we get from the inorganic to the organic life? Maybe Darwin can't answer this question, although I have no problem with a model of evolution at all, i fear irrational rationalism as much as fundamentalism.
ok, keep believing there is a higher being that created you. let me know when quantum physics comes up with the god formula, meanwhile i will stick to biochemistry mr. middle of the road.
i see your point, but for ME, the complexity of the universe we live in enabled life. but as for I.D., where is it now, did it leave, did it die, where did it go? just create things then leave them to do whatever? i figure that the whole "God"(or whatever) is just a residual from fear and ignorance. moreover it has been burnt into our brains, by our parents, the church, and the system, so we now realize that their book is BS, which makes things that much more "scary" foreboding, LONELY.
You go Rollins!!

@Graffitti74 Do you think that Henryth Rollins needs to be made aware that it will soon be time for the nettles to sting?

I'm sure you're doing a little more than feeding yourself lol.
I love your work with black flag, I love your shows, your books. You didn't open my mind, you forced it open.
You made me open my eyes, see the truth about god, government, and music.
Thanks

I love how intelligent this man is. He actually has the curiosity to read about and visit the regions of the world before passing judgment on them.
