yes, Eddie Vedder is the first and only one to sing "Society", he just collaborated with Jerry Hannan on it and Eddie was the one who was gonna sing/play it. Jerry Hannan just provided the lyrics (I think) and maybe Eddie Vedder chipped in on the writing of the entire song? I'm not sure about the whole story, just that the two worked together on it...

Either way it's a great song. I love all the songs in Into The Wild, it's an amazing album!
