  • siimplemente la mejor cancion de dream theater!!!

    mike portnoy te amo!!!

    xD

  • but they cut out the amazing drum fill right at the end

  • I heart Roto-toms so much.

  • those are octobans buddy not roto-toms

  • I saw him play in concert once, it was bliss. But the funny part was the Mike was spitting the whole time and almost hit John and Myung, I mean he can spit like 10 feet. However his drumming is far superior to anyone i have seen.

  • awesome!!!

  • OMG!!! people can say whatever they want about this guy, but man he's impressive!!!

  • how come i didnt hear this before?

    ITS FKKKKKK Awesome!

  • How in the damn hell does he remember those patterns? You can dis him for a lot of things, but as a prog drummer for the 2K's, he's the best.

  • I will agree to that. Partly. But you can't dis him for shit! He's a god. A very human god that has practiced a lot of drums, but still, a god. ^^

  • i used to wonder how he remembered all these sequences of patterns, but over time you learn the patterns to all these songs

  • learning them is one thing.. remember he ahs to make all of these.

  • yes

and its his ability to understand what kind of drumming fits each part of the song that makes him so good.

theres definitely been parts, when hearing a DT song for the first time, where i was like "i bet hes gonna play like this" and he did. its not because hes repetetive, its because he plays exactly what the music needs.

  • I used to wonder the same thing, but when a song flows as well as this, it all sort of falls into place naturally. He keeps it exciting without overplaying...a lot of tasteful fills yet cool fills in this song.

  • He is amazingly good, but I recently found Gavin Harrison and I would see he is at least as good.

  • ive seen him as well and i didnt care for him AT ALL, although he is a decent drummer i dont see him as Prog, hes technical but it just doesnt flow, portnoy is MUCH better. and yes, he is a good ^.^

  • I told him that the stacks cymbal on the right sounded awesome, so he signed it and gave it to me. He's awesome!

  • wow you are so lucky if your nnot lying im so jealous

  • if that`s true then congrats! lucky one! that would be great to anyone!

  • i love this song soooo much!!!!

  • It's a pity the outro has been cut off... It's so beautiful.

  • why do i suck....hahaha

  • great drummer, excellent group!

  • :50 is unreal

  • Love the faces he makes. Lol!!

  • he does a lot of acting and makes faces at the concerts too, hes awesome

  • So good!!

  • Portnoy is by far the best progresive Drummer

  • Correction....Portnoy is the best Drummer..period! :D

  • i love this break-down

  • The memory lock gave out.

  • hey in the double bass grove at thirty

how did he open and close his left hi-hat

  • they weren't open very far. just enough to make the decay really fast.

  • sencillamente increíble...estupendos tripletes e increible ritmo con clave

  • holy shit this is probably one of the most innovative parts ive ever heard its so tight

  • I'm 13, and i just started drums a few months ago, so viola48 it's not too late! I mean, I'm a dang natural, I'm on page 78 of this book and i only got a couple months ago! If you're a natural and work hard, it's no prob to start at your age!

  • maybe just a little conceited? i mean, i can understand the constructive advice, but don't call yourself a born natural. thanks.

  • Sorry, probably just cuz i had so much musical exposure, piano for 7 years and sister teaching me a bunch of instruments PLUS trumpet, it probably helped me a bunch. I overestimate myself sometimes, and it seems like im an ass. Sorry.

  • naw you're fine dude, he's just a tight ass...keep up the practice. I also played trumpet and didn't really start seriously playing drums til i was 21....so believe me at 13 you're not starting late at all :P

  • wow, i love this song. the ending on the album could get a little repetitive though

  • I'm 25, is it too late to practice drum?

    MP is my inspiration...

  • It's never too late!

Chris Adler from Lamb of God started just a little bit before that, and he's awesome.

  • He is all over the kit ... thats what I like ...

  • word...he's not one of those drummers that has a massive kit he doesn't use...he uses every last piece on that thing...freaking awesomeness...I get to see him in May WOOO

  • same here\M/

    where you gunna see him?

  • In Seattle, WA at the WAMU theater. Should be awesome!!!!!

  • He is da best and he will ever be, mike portnoy forever !!!

  • FUCCCCCK :'( We did not get the fuckin' tom play at the end :(

  • haha maybe they did it on purpose, like it would be too amazing for mortal eyes or something!

  • PORTNOY IZ THE KING OF DRUM...IT'S A FACT AND IT WILL BE THE KING FOREVER...SORRY FOR THE OTHERS DRUMMERS ;-) lol ...!

  • a monster drummer!!!

  • Portnoy is a true god.

  • insane, really good

  • never realized the instrumental section was so complex. i need to work on it i guesss..

  • woot i worked on it

    what a sweet song

  • mike è il meglio batterista del mondo in assoluto....ha una batteria molto piccola...;)il 25 ottobre lo vado a vede a bologna

  • One of the best drummers on this planet!!!!!!!
